    Any thoughts on the Lohr trailers?

    • @CarcarrierTv
      @CarcarrierTv  Рік тому

      So my thoughts on them are limited. But I’ll say they seem like a good trailer they operate exactly the same as mine. They have a cool idea with the way their pockets work but besides that I’ve never run one so I can’t comment on the quality of them or how well they will hold up over time

    I drive a delivery van as a medical courier on a 300 mile route every day. I am 26 and don't make enough to even afford the cheapest apartments in my area despite working full time. I am seriously considering trucking as i enjoy being on the road, i have very few social connections and am desperate for money. I'm sick of being broke and I need to make up for the years I wasted.

    • @CarcarrierTv
      @CarcarrierTv  Рік тому +2

      Trucking is a great industry but I do recommend not getting yourself stuck in the reefer dry van industry. It’s gonna be the lowest paying and most time on the road part of trucking. Your gonna spend the first year or two in these industries to get your time in but after that specialize into a different end of the industry. That’s where you’ll make the most money and get the most free time get into something like car hauling tankers rgn oversized or hazmat.

    • @paintisfood
      @paintisfood Рік тому +2

      @@CarcarrierTv I really appreciate your advice, I wasn't aware reefers were something best avoided. I started exploring trucking as an option recently because one of my trainees is a part time local truck driver and he more or less put the bug in my ear. I understand I gotta put some time in before I make real money, but I'm willing to learn to drive whatever pays me the most.

    • @CarcarrierTv
      @CarcarrierTv  Рік тому +1

      @user-oo1nn6uz8c me saying that isn’t saying reefers don’t pay well they very well may pay 1400-1500+ but it’s a ton of sitting and waiting and being on the road 3-4-5-6 weeks at a time and going home for 5-6 days. All well cad hauling pays $2000-$4000 a week all well going home every weekend sort of thing.

      @@CarcarrierTv I see. It's still significantly more than I make now. I clear maybe 600 dollars on a good week. Even 1000 a week would feel like winning the lottery to me.

    • @CarcarrierTv
      @CarcarrierTv  2 роки тому

      You can make money in car hauling but it’s a ton of work. I’d say your gonna make it harder with a 7 car because your limiting the number of vehicles you can haul and trying to stay in a small area will make it harder as well. Is it doable yes but you’ll have to be on your A game getting customers

    I did my first Manheim load for Carvana in West Memphis. Loaded out of Houston Hobby location. My company wants us to mark down every scratch, chip, dent, broken items, and missing items on an inspection sheet and then document everything on our VIN app and take pictures of everything. So that said, it took me 10 1/2 hours to load. I never want to do that again.

    • @CarcarrierTv

    I used to work for United Road. I recently switched companies to haul a different car brand out of the same yard. Yes my son was born about 3 months ago now so thank you. And 6k a week getting home most nights isn’t bad but I will say I know as soon as everything is up to normal production levels that number should be up around 7-8k a week pretty easily. A lot of time is spent doing 2-3-4 drops when 1 droppers will cut 2-3 hours of running time out of each load
