I just want to know does United Road have high rail trailers?

I had the same problem with the decking on my last Lohr trailer. Bowing really badly and witgin the 1st year riping the holes in the decking and flippers. And the hedrack cracking and splitting apart in numerous places

are those numbers bi weekly pay or weekly???

I was a Cassens transport driver for very many years and I averaged 1800 a week for four days of work and I always had three day weekends because in our contract we had 72 hours to report back to work from the time we arrived at our home terminal, my boss was a narcissistic prick that hated my ass but he couldn’t do shit to me because I was union strong

I know this videos old, but do you have any recommendations for west coast companies to work for? I’m creeping up on 3 months experience and want to get into this business since before I got my CDL lol someone told me you need a year or two experience before doing car hauling, but now I’m seeing that might not be necessary.

I have 13 years experience clean record and I want to give car hauling a try but there’s nobody hiring without car hauling experience, any recommendations?

I desperately want to get into car hauling, but I have no experience and no CDL. I'll be saving up for the CDL training from my own pocket I guess, and after that start getting experience on the road with the hope of being a car hauler one day. Wish I could go straight to car hauling, but oh well. I spent 20 years working in mental health and I am done, beyond done with it, and have dreamed for a long time of being a trucker. I live in central Virginia not far from Charlottesville.

I was watching your other video and put in an application at United. I see you are no longer there. Where are you now? Will they train?

You got a terminal/yard here in Houston? I applied with another company but I think they are low balling me with $70k gross starting pay. I've not accepted an offer yet. I put in an application.

Well just getting started as a car hauler and yes this is going to be my career for the next 11 years. My first truck was a 2007 F550 I pick my loads off of Uship and Shiply Well I had orders to go get in LA area nothing to give me gas so off I went to LA. I had just put a new 4 core radiator in the F550 even ran it for 90 minutes in driveway. Two days later off I went to get two motorcycles and a car. Had all the tires checked before I left my area. Going up the summit from Marsing on the 95 just got to the top when I noticed engine is overheating. Pulled off the road just a little way over the top the bottom water hose had slid almost off yet just enough that it allowed massive amount of water to leave the radiator, well this had serious consequences for the engine. I had to scrub all the orders that I had planned on getting off of Shiply. 3 days later found a different truck a 2003 Chevrolet Topkick with a sleeper that took 2 weeks to have it ready for my needs. Yet was not ready for another week. . Took bed of my off F550 being it had a tank of 116 gallons auxiliary poly tank that took 4 days longer than I was hoping I could not figure out the wiring So had to take it to a shop that rewired what they described as the past owner made a cobweb of things. The shop said they could do the certification on it but I needed new tires and 2 new rims being that I was already 2 days past a load that I claimed would have it there in 4 days.in LA I had 1 more vehicle to get in Portland OR. I told the guy who was going to certify it about the distance the Auxiliary tank had from the hitch area he said it had to be 12 inches from the shaft going down from the 5th wheel area. Which I never seen in all the FMCSA manuals. The hitch was the wrong height, so I had the welder come out and help me get it in the right spot. Then in a panic was told by the guy he wanted to have the trailer on it so he could make sure the brakes were functioning. in a panic I backed truck up to get trailer attached totally did not realize that height changed from the hitch being moved up that I had no clearance on the auxiliary tank and the trailer was lower and smashed into it took 2 hours removing all the fuel into 5 tote bins to remove the tank. So I had 2 hours to get truck in for I took possession of the two cars going to LA from Boise on Thursday Eve I offered a service which now I'm regretting I offered. FREE SHIPING if I can't have your vehicle back into your possession in 4 days Which would take me 3 days at the most to get to LA. Disaster struck murphy's law reamed me. 1. The truck did not pass its certification due to a exhaust pipe was leaking at the flange and needed to be rewelded where a seam on the muffler had separated. I went ahead and got both cars from Boise over to Nampa by driving them with the permission of the owners so I could get them loaded up. Then take truck home and weld the muffler and install a new flange. Took about 2 hours to finish that up. Next day truck passed went to get trailer now it was hard to get landing gear down on that loaded trailer that as I tried to lower it something broke on one of the landing gears where I could not get them to raise. I finally told Freightliner to cut the landing gear off on the passenger side off would use a bottle jack instead to lift trailer up on that side. It was already late. So I headed home then unloaded my car then started to pack up the truck with food and clothes. Nex morning decided to fill tanks out of the auxiliary tank I repaired with melting the plastic and refilled the night before. So, I filled the tank using gas cans then I noticed fuel leaking out of the tank. Now being I parked my truck Infront of a LDS church thought I pissed someone off that they drilled holes in the top of my tank but it was weird like they took different size drill bits to create a moon scape of finished holes and just craters. I had to wait for 3 hours for a neighbor to move their truck so I could go around a street to plastic weld 5 holes I made a police report. Then as I welded the holes it dawned on me those are weld beads when I had my bed swapped with the other one the welder must not have realized he should have had a welder's blanket over the tanks. Any ways I finally left for Portland 2 cars aboard $1150 pay day once delivered. Then I was having a problem with thinking fuel gage was not right why I made the decision to run fuel to empty was a loss of around 1 hour being I had 13 gallons of fuel with me. Got to Portland where I pulled into church parking lot to load a 3rd car that was brought over to me very tight in that parking lot took a lot of decision making how I was going to get out of there without destroying the shrubs inside of curbs Which I did touch a bit when I entered the parking lot but that was considered a free land scaping. Did better leaving the place though as my tires only had to go over a curb but not into the light that was pointing up at the sign in the curbed area. Raining in Portland and dark so I told lady that it will be impossible to look Toyota rav4 over in the dark that I would do it in the morning after my rest of 10 hours before I start driving again. As I got up and around started my inspection on that Toyota Rav4 thought my camera was stuck on selfie mode that Toyota had such a glossy black that it was a mirror finish. Damn found a mark on it like about 1/8th of a inch long looked like a meteor smudge. Sent pictures to client telling them that I found this but there was nothing that I hit when placing car up on the ramps or decking as I placed car on the platform, she said it was already there. I left the Rest area around 2 PM watching my fuel gauge I was like time for diesel stop. Got about 45 miles and the Topkick was running really good I just had to praise it you are doing such a wonderful job. Then 3 miles latter felt a weird kick like my trailer wiggled then it hit again so I pulled over to check it out everything seemed ok got back in and drove for about 4 miles then all hell broke loose the truck lost power, and I pulled off to the side of the road had to get a tow truck injectors went out I was told they said it be 2 weeks till they could get to it. So I got a room in the Motel 6 in Sunderlin OR Stayed 3 nights there. Tried to have another hauler come take my load of cars to LA. Had a load board that was a spam call, so I arranged all 3 cars to be taken on Friday around 430 PM paid $255.00 down no one showed up. Saturday, I called this idiot and told him the situation. He was an India speaking guy said oh so sorry, but this is now the weekend and won't get any one till Monday. I got onto craigs list and put a wanted for hire ad for 2 people to drive cars to LA So after getting a good resume from a guy he said he had a brother that could help. Sundy morning, we set out to LA took a lot longer than it was supposed to being rental car agency was closed after we dropped the first 2 cars off to their owner's place. Had to get a room at the Motel 6. Got rental car in the morning let the other driver sleep dropped the Rav off then went back to Motel packed up and back to Oregon we headed. Was like 3 in the morning when I dropped last guy off then found a place to park car and slept. I paid the wo guys that helped me $200.00 each and meals. Now with all the shit that went down Uship suspended me from getting any loads. So, I figured I still had Shiply so I started to bid on some cars that I could take in 2 to 3 weeks then being I had to cancel more bids that were excepted that I could not get to in LA my account got suspended for negative reviews and cancelations. This is a huge set back right now. But have been starting to get onto different load boards now.

I just completed my first full week of car hauling with Waddle. Seems to be a great family company. Unfortunately that Brunswick port issue cost me a little bit of money but I still did pretty good. It looks like the kind of money I was hoping for and I’ll be getting home every week. Compared to being out with United road for a month at a time. Same money and more home time.

#1 tip not mentioned....Stay away from United Road or get out soon as you have your experience and go somewhere else....them dudes are chasing their tales and nationwide falling apart and wasting their drivers time ,so when you are commision paid....it becomes a problem. They have major problems and if you want to know the truth just ask the other drivers at the loading bays,you will will quickly get an overwhelming support of this claim Ive made here. Dont just believe me.....ask around and make your own decisions. The majority of their drivers stay over a small little niche that just works for them right now,and eventually United Road finds ways to trip and fall all over themselves. Dont expect respect and courtesy when you leave either,they will react like a psycho ex girlfriend, never even considering how they push drivers away,no matter how professional and respectful you conduct yourself there.
