this car is honestly the exact definition of a teenagers car, and i love it. he straight up throws subs in and pimped out the engine bay, threw some engine mods in it, sick ah shifter and now a whole interior install. gotta love it.

@@22Epic to be fair I was terrified it was, I’m glad you understand my relief. I also get my last comment sounded like I was trying to brag, that wasn’t my aim. More that it’s not M3 seats and they only have the M stripes on the headdress on the CS and above.

I had no idea I’d be spending 20 minutes watching a seat detail but I’m here for it.
The seatbelt modifcation is probably alright, but considering all the variables when designing a seat buckle i would not take the chance. The material may be different, which in turn when removing material will lead to it failing. Be aware of this if you are planning to modify safety equipment.
Why don't you just take the rear seats of one of the F30's (or f80, i lost count on these F-numbers with bmw) on the compound to test if the 3 series rearseats actually fit better than the m4 seats

Adam! Loving the 00's bimmer content. As a connoisseur myself, I'd recommend checking out the GROM bluetooth adapter for the factory head unit. Handsfree calls, bluetooth audio, integration with the OEM system, I think that it would be a great addition to this build.

Are the seatbelt buckle metals of the f82 and e46 the same composition? I’d be worried that e46 might use an older/weaker type of alloy (hence needing more material), thus removing it could impact safety

The other thing that could be done for the seatbelts… is the entire seatbelt assembly could be removed. Just removing the b pillar interior plastics would allow access to

Very cheap and good working bluetooth adapters on amazon for the stock radio. just threw one in my e46 m3 putting it more back to stock inside.

41:41 Have a look at bluebus, a really neat device for bmw’s this age. Plugs into the cd changer harness and enables Bluetooth on factory radios with title support and so on - also you can enable comfort blinkers, automatic door luck ups when moving off etc with it, all within the radio settings! All these small things makes a big difference.. Have one in my e46 and loving every bit of it!

For sure f80 seats would be 100 times easier.
@@charliesmith874at least in America, a hatch is counted as a door but a trunk (boot) is not. I think an M3 would still qualify as 4 doors
@@partysodown ok I did some more research and I concede. Always thought people just added +1 for every car on the actual amount of doors it has, but apparently that's not the case lol
I'm stoked for this bmw project. I did a rear folded seat conversion in my e39. It's not terribly difficult, you have to drill out the rivets in the back plate and then it should come out. The hardest part will be the brackets. You may want to source those from the f80 if you don't have them

If the E46 didn't come with seat airbags , I would just remove them . I've seen vehicles that were in major accidents where the airbags didn't even deploy . And I've seen where airbags have gone off just because someone was off-roading and hit a bump too hard . I've also seen where an old lady had half of her ribs broken when an airbag deployed into her chest . I don't trust them , I don't trust them to not deploy when they shouldn't , and I don't trust them to deploy when they should .
maybe this is the sign i take my car to the dealership for my recall on my airbags for my e46

Little front seat removal pro tip from a previous interior guy. Unbolt the seat then scoot it all the way back, lay it back like your going to unplug the electronics then stuff your hand into the seat where the bottom meets the back rest and other hand in front then just tilt it sideways where your seat brackets and cushion is facing towards the door and pull it out facing that same way. This will almost gurantee you don’t take a chunk out of the steering wheel or any panels with the seat brackets and is a super easy way to take out and install front seats

The big thing with that seatbelt mount is, if your modification fails under extreme load, like you crashing & testing the belts hard, it'll be a bad day...

Did you solve how to keep to seats powered on? You just need to have a way to cycle the power for the seats automatic or manually. i took the easy way and put a momentary swith to power the seat module

The E-series BMW's had the option to have the M Performance Recaro seats installed (Retrimed Recaro CS's). Those were the OG OEM baller mod back then for the E chasis,

The seat moving forward to back. Stops half way in all f and maybe even g series cars! If you hold move forward lol enough it will stop and you have to repress it forward to get it going all the way forward ! My f30 does this as well. Form factory

I will never understand why car companies nowadays need to add CAN BUS to seats and windows in order for them to work, when all we had to do was simply wire an electrical connection and reverse the polarity to Windows and seat motors for them to work. Now you have cars that need modules just to put up a window or move a seat up and down.

Duh Adam the rear seats sit up higher in the headrest because the front seat headrest are going to be higher on the new seats to match the rear man ! The interior is going to match if it goes in man !
I did coupe seats my E90.. you the only person other than me I’ve seen do it.. I still have the sides of the backseat exposed 😅.. but the backseat extra comfortable and feels like bucket seats 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

Matt should have the Leather Fresh Colour Lock leather cleaning, dye and repair product with him. If you have a classic Porsche that’s who they go to. The mild and strong leather cleaners are the best on the market. With their foaming pump bottles, you pump the foam on the brush, never directly apply cleaner to the leather itself it is to wet and can discolor it.
A cashmere comb will remove the pills on the alcantera. ✌️

You can do a head unit with Apple CarPlay that looks very similar to the OEM navigation that these cars came with. Dynavin, Avin, and Eonon are the biggest three brands

Adam i just put those F80 m4 seats in my 98 e36 m3 sedan..they look so good and super comfy..i lucked out on a crased m4 got front and rear..same i didnt want to put the recaros that are in my evo in my e36.
I never put the rear in it is in my parts room..
I have seen this video a long time ago, and I thought to myself: if I ever get a leather interior car, I will want to clean the leather the proper way, and now I finally got one, and had to search back to this video to steal all the tricks for a great interior leather care. Why not get BMW E85 Z4 M seats? I have them in my E46 and they are plug and play as the base is exactly the same as the E46 and you only have to code out the seat occupancy sensor.

Is there not a bolt hole for the seatbelt under the trim on the side of the seat that says AirBag? That were the stock seat belt bolts to on my F31 and many other newer BMW's
