I made this table for my own office, and I'm sitting by it right now. Somebody just DM'ed me with a pretty high offer on it. I said no, because honestly I like it, and I "wood" be too worried how my experimental pallet blocks wood section in the middle will perform over time. So I'm keeping it here, looking at it every day and see how it performs. Thanks for the offer though. Thanks again to all my sponsorts and friends that I dragged into the video.

I'm an ambassador for @rubiomonocoatscandinavia (Denmark). I'm not paid so say anything, but obviously I wouldn't become an ambassador if I didn't absolutely love their wood finishes.
I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for UA-cam many nights.
I'm not affililated with any of the toolbrands I'm using in this video. Nobody paid me so say anything. However, I do like to support other creators, and often buy their merch.
I do owe thanks to a lot of creators, I will try my best to feature you somehow in future videos. The way I like to feature other creators is by making some sort of cameo that's relevant for the video I'm making, so I'm sorry if you send me your sticker hoping to get a shout-out. It could be a while before the right opportunity shows up for me.

Your quote from A.A. Milne at the end? "Always remember you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think"?
I dare say you've never been sacked from a job so they could put a printer where you sat (and because your manager just didn't like you) , or because you talked too much (because you were nervous), or because you fumbled and dropped too many tools? Oh, and then there's the time I stood up for a co-worker who was getting shafted and I spoke out.
I've been treated less because of my Autism (undiagnosed for the first 44 years) all my life and, even when I try something new, like wood working, leads you to believe the entire opposite of what you;re saying. I continue to live because of my loving wife and extended family, my dog, and a few select friends who treat me as an equal.
While "technically" this looks easy, its not something I'm ever going to try - the materials alone would bankrupt me, and that's even if I got it right on the first try (which is definitely NOT likely)
This does look AMAZING, I just wish I had the skill to achieve something like this.

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with me. I can't begin to understand the weight of what you've gone through, but I deeply respect your strength and resilience in facing the challenges that life has presented you with.
The quote I mentioned is meant to inspire and uplift, but I understand that life has its complexities that can't be summed up in a single phrase for everyone. I'm truly glad you have a supportive network in your wife, family, and close friends. It's invaluable to have people who treat us with kindness and understand us.
Woodworking, like any craft, has its spectrum - from simple projects to the more complex ones like the table I showcased. Please don't feel daunted by the scale or cost of this particular project. There are countless woodworking projects that require minimal materials and can be quite forgiving for beginners. I hope you find something that resonates with your comfort level, and brings you joy in the process.
Again, thank you for your comment and for your kind words about the table. Take care.

Love it. I have pellet blocks that i can't get the nails out of but just can't get rid of them. I cant do epoxy so still waiting for inspiration on what to do with them. Did use ones i could get nails out of as legs for my couch table at the back of my couch with pellet wood as the top. Was one of my first diy. It needs an amendment but haven't gotten around to it but i love it in all your it's imperfections.

Not usually a big fan of river tables but I loved the pattern you chose for the blocks which gave it a sort of Mondrian vibe which creates such an interesting contrast with the live edges. I also loved the "everything but the kitchen sink" hold down solution to the floating blocks, I could completely see myself going nuts trying to save the project that way as well, so glad it worked!

@@JesperMakes Well... I'm building a four-wheel drive 'overland'-type camper out of a flatbed Sprinter. Turns out I don't know anything about eeh... carpentry, working with composites, automotive electrics, heating, plumbing or project management. But it's taken me from Helsinki to Norway and back three times already in various stages of incompleteness over the last year, so I'd call it a success. -ish. A successish.

    Hello Jesper,
Another great edited video. And great job. A great desk for your office. As long as the pallet boards are not wet, it does not cause any problems. There is a cabinet I made for the bathroom 4 years ago. Dirty laundry basket. I made it from pallets. I covered it with yacht varnish 3 times. And the bathroom still looks like stone. It didn't cause any problems. I don't think you'll have any problems with this table. good job. Congratulations. All the best. Big Greetings. Kind regards. Your friend Mehmet
