- I had to make a few adjustments to pull off Mario's playing. That dude is a phenomenal drummer with great technique and feel. This is one of my biggest accomplishments so far. You can tell by the sweat that it didn't come easy! ;)

This was the song that got me into Gojira. Before I heard first this song, I was never a fan of this band. The drumming and the musicianship in general is fucking spectacular and it made me a Gojira fan. I'm glad that you covered it and you did it justice as well (no shirt pun intended).

odobenus159 if you want to find music to listen to, just listen to many music on YT and let the feed find you the music, or look at playlists, that's how I do it and I know something like 70 bands noe
L'enfant Sauvage and Stranded got me into Gojira, but I searched them in YT because of Josh covers (I didn't listen to any cover, just searched) and now I'm here with all their demos from Godzilla times and 3 studio albums.

@@gtfour1462 don't think it's in the level of complexity of art of dying. It's known for having the same difficult double pedal pattern as meshuggah's bleed (but actually slower) but in terms of rhythm it's probably much easier

JOSH, DUDE YOU MUST DO A VIDEO OF YOU PLAYING THE HEAVIEST MATTER IN THE UNIVERSE!!!! I want to learn that song so bad!! The angel you have your camera set at helps me so much because I can see everything that's going on. I never had lessons so I play by ear mostly so seeing the snare and tom work is very helpful. Anyway, like I said, I never had lessons I just got a drumset for Christmas and I knew how to play them. My parents couldn't believe it.

I fell in love with Gojira's groove immediately!
Thing is, i'm not really a fan of heavy metal or anything that goes beyond progressive metal and i sort of hate myself for this, because i can sit in my hot, humid room, laying on my back and listening to those 2:25 minutes of this song for an entire day. I literally find it perfect.

the interlude part with just the ride is so good. i remember practicing it all the time and finally being able to play it correctly with each hit exactly where it is on the song. it took some time to get the muscle memory down, but i was so stoked when i did it. Great job man, keep it up!!!!!
