You look at Joey that him teacher was jazz drummer, it is not normal how to Joey played drums with freedom in playing like that. Unbelievable. Both legs and hands.
Finally ! And I think it's great. Definitely one of the faster songs on your channel, but even if some parts are 16th notes double bass at 220 it was still audible and good sound quality. I think this is one of the best drum tracks joey has ever written, and we all will never forget how awesome he nailed it in the early days.
+Slayer you can't really compare them both as Joey was way faster then the current drummer but credit to jay to for coming into a band that's pretty quick and does the job, I saw slipknot live back on 2011 Joey killed it saw them live again in 2016 and jay killed so they're both good bro just you can't compare them both in my opinion
+Slayer krimh is a god but maybe they saw something in jay that we don't and I think jay is a wonderful drummer nails some old slipknot songs, this is the same problem with avenged sevenfold losing the rev from going to mike portnoy in night mare aren iljay in hail to the king then Brooks wackerman in the stage pretty much same position if I must say
@@rhys_3564 yes u can!😂 Both play/played in the same band, the same genre, so, u can compare them. Dont try to hide that, Joey is better than Jay, just compare Disasterpiece vs Nero Forte, Jay is so simple, Joey is really hard. This guy was practicing years to cover this song perfectly. Jay is good, yeah, is good, but Joey is fuckin God, the best drummer in last 25 years
Been a big slipknot fan for over a decade now and as a former guitarist who just recently had the chance to start drumming I have to say that now more than ever it hits me.... Joey was a fantastic drummer. RIP
Silenc9 a lot of times when I try to learn a song, I usually end up not hearing complex tomes parts, and btw since I only have 1 year in drumming and didn't do double bass from the beginning, so I'm in the process of learning how to double bass properly, while trying to get good at blastbeating and changing my foot technique since I used my whole leg at first instead of just the tip of the foot, it works when you want to do double strokes at 140 bpm but not at 200 or so XD
garnet ssxc the problem is not about memorizing them, it's about hearing all the stuff that's going on and playing it afterwards XD, actually this song is quite clear in terms of what to play, I was more talking about the devil in I, where, after habing watched his cover, understood I didn't get even half of what was actually going on in some parts
Fucking nailed it. Over the past year or two I've watched you go from being a really good drummer to one of those drummers that are fucking sick and that I can't even try to play along to anymore. Good shit
Oh man, i never understand how drummers can move their 1 foot like that while playing with both their hands totally different way. Rhythymic perfection right there!
Awesome, amazing, insane, flawless. As always, Mr. Josh Jordison. I request Sulfur and Gematria, hope to see you beat the shit out of your drums on these songs someday. Keep rockin', bro ! \m/
Of all the drumming material on utube I enjoy your drumming vids the best .. great work pall keep the vids coming .. would love to see a best of you foo fighters cover ..👍
Love the overhead camera. Gives a overall birds eye view of your kit when you play. Your still my favorite drummer to watch play. Love your covers of Mr Bungle songs.
My friend I've watched most all your videos my friend you are a badass drummer I've seen some good ones. Your accuracy is unbelievable Dave Lombardo I think I spelled it wrong lol all the strike marks are in a tight circle in the center of the head I personally enjoy watching, why you are not on a fucking stage. In front of thousands blows my mind thank you for your work in the art and thank you for your time.
My God. I arrive a little late because this clip escaped me but wow! What a powerful drive !, what a feeling of groove. One of your best covers because there is advanced technique in it. Beautiful speed of course, all in precision without forgetting the changes and displacements of your drive while width, inversion of the drive / tempo, subdivision, a pinch of polyrhythm in the crowd of figures giving without respite, a surprising track of drum requiring a complete and unconditional knowledge of your instrument. This is the big caliber of choice ... Bravo Josh. Lars can go into hiding deep. He has succeeded in influencing a whole generation of drummers in his golden years but his most loyal admirers have outdone him for many. We see very well from another angle, all the complexity the talents of Joey's games.
Dude your in beast mode!!! Joey is one of my fav drummers and you have deffs kept up with him, if I wasn't sitting in the bathroom and actually wearing a hat I would take it of for you Sir!!
Wow! That was an incredibly clean, punctual and amazingly accurate cover. Seriously, GREAT JOB! Not the easiest selection in their discography at that, also!
7th time I watch it today, fucking wonderfully executed. You're getting better and better with double bass, that shit was near flawless! Thanks for another amazing upload ;-)
Duesux Machinin don't even start with that bullshit. I'm honestly not even trying to cover my mistake. I didn't see vermilion in the playlist, so I didn't know he did it at one point. Can you not understand a simple mistake? I was legitimately talking about the bloodstone mix for part 2. Why do you feel the need to assume that I would try to cover up a mistake when I even acknowledged it after I was corrected? Lord, some people.
+Syn / Digital Angst Actually no he doesnt. Joey in his prime is better than Jay. Joey wrote the parts, Jay did not. Secondly, Jay is kinda sloppy live, I dont think he was ready for the demands of this music night after night. Joey was sloppy because he was fighting a leg disorder.
Kayden Brickhouse well psychosocial is easy for a beginner. There's a bit of syncopation in the breakdown after the solo's done but besides that you should be largely okay.
Lol? is my opinio right, yeah i'm drummer for 7 years, and i play 300bpm blasts, and really like! josh is a nice drummer, i just give my opinion pls respect ;)
WTF??? dude, i see your channel, you are a nice shitt! I don't use triggers, i play really blast, no fake like you, you report your channel, for bad education and you are a bad drummer! practise ;)
The extra double pedal flare at 4:06 was literally everything.
3:06 *
@@Vivus_offic ?
@@x8nishe mistyped the time stamp, the point in the video he was referencing was 3:06
@@Vivus_offic How do you know?
@@x8nis cause he’s not even doing double bass at the part that he time stamped bruh
Finally! This has got to be my favourite Slipknot on drums. Keep being awesome
me too brother!
Brodez_The_Destroyer ever heard eyore
Eric G oh yeah. Forgot about that. This song is still one of my favourites though
My favorite is Skin Ticket
Right? He's a fucking beast on drums
2:09 one of the many reasons Joey is awesome. Like 4 different genres in each song.
Now I understand why Joey was called the best drummer in the last 25 years lol 😯😮
Joey is a genius and this guy too
I'd say that Chris Turner is up there too, OAA songs (especially in Hikari) are incredibly complex
Danny Carry!!!
One of the best, I honestly prefer The Rev
Mudvayne
You look at Joey that him teacher was jazz drummer, it is not normal how to Joey played drums with freedom in playing like that. Unbelievable. Both legs and hands.
Overhead camera. Nice upgrade.
I love this lol
You honestly have some of the greatest covers on youtube
Thanks!
I'VE BEEN WAITING THIS VIDEO FOR YEAAARS ❤
Yeah Me too!!
me too! FUCK YEAH!
IKR!

COMEON

Impressive .. but can you play Seven Nation Army?
Nobody can
No
No
No
Thats impossible bro lmao 🤣🤣

Bruh I've been for this one since you had like 20k subscribers holy shit finally. That was dope
Simply mind-blowing
how can you even hear all that on the song XD
you listen alot and memorize, pracice individual parts and eventually you will know the entire song.
serious casual gamer most of the slipknot songs are really easy to memorize the rythems dont change much

I just watched 4 or 5 covers of this... Best one for sure
love that overhead cam.
One of the best covers I've ever seen....not just of this song but literally, ever
Josh I really like the overhead camera angle!! Awesome cover !!
Though simple , the fill at 1:45 is perfect.
I love jay as their new drummer, but I think josh would of been a perfect fit for the knot. His play style is so clean and precise.
But these days you must suck Satan's chode to be one of the nine lmao 🤣
You're a madman!! I must have hit rewind like 15 times during this video to get a second look. Totally killed it!!
Josh thanks! And please "Slipknot-Gematria":)
Almost 3 years since this gem was dropped and I still find myself drumming along in public Josh this was perfect 👌👌👌
I wish I could do that. Outstanding work.
Este tipo es un maestro en la batería

He makes look it so simple and easy. He is awezome!!
What are these camera cuts doing in my Josh Steffen video? 🤔
I don’t know even 2yrs has passed and I’m still blind to this witchcraft?
Impressive.....hard song to play. Those little cymbal grabs at the end are bad ass. Joey was definitely at his prime when he composed this song
do either sulfur or vermillion please.
he did Vermilion
BRIAN REARTES I didn't see that on the playlist, but ok. I did also mean vermillion part 2 though.

Irvin De La Cruz Hernandez algún día bro , y le daremos un puto abrazo a joey jordison \m/
OH DISASTERPIECE!!! MY FAVORITE SLIPKNOT SONG EVER! GOOD JOB JOSH
The three dislikes are Jay Weinberg, Shawn Crahan and Chris Fehn
Alessio Zoncu why Shawn and Chris?
Isaac Opyrchal probably because Joey takes the spotlight as the percussionist on this one and they're jealous
Jeremy Stig Iowa is his favorite album by them so yeah, he probably has no problem.. not to mention he does it better.
FanaticalDrummer It's not fair to say Joey was better in his prime. Jay is better NOW, and now is what matters. Not 10-15 years ago.
for the very first time in my life I saw someone playing drumms just like in the album record.
every single beat was correct 100%. no more no less.
Unfortunately he was on holiday the day they had auditions for Slipknot's new drummer 🤦
The look of shear anger and pain on the mans face when he is playing shows how aggressive and difficult the song is.
what's the easiest song you think on slipknot for drums
Kayden Brickhouse Probably something like "Child of Burning Time" or "If Rain Is What You Want".
Kayden Brickhouse Probably Iowa or If rain is what you want..
Kayden Brickhouse in my opinion its either psychosocial or devil in i
Kayden Brickhouse well psychosocial is easy for a beginner. There's a bit of syncopation in the breakdown after the solo's done but besides that you should be largely okay.
Psychosocial, This, People=Shit, Surfacing, Wait and Bleed and the Blister Exists. But that just me and since I learned to play Slipknot songs first.
i love this guy because he was a humble person
do psychosocial 1.25 speed...
+Hass Aface i did it at 1.35
yea and now do it again at 1.25
PLEASE do hooch/honey bucket 1.25 speed like melvins do live
Hass Aface melvins suck
Amazing , amazing job ! That’s something I could never do .
Rest in peace Joey Jordison
Love the overhead thing you did there with the camera. Keep doing it!
Will you do Metallica - Halo On Fire?
I absolutely love this song from slipknot
Guess someone is ready for Angel of Death

All Nightmare long...Metallica please!

Yeah All Nightmare Long, that song kicks ass
It’s up. I’m sure you know that though ;)
this song will never fucking die . good job, keep it going
