This is the kind of shit that will actually make me watch a film, that will really intrigue me and make me want to see what it's like. Fortunately in this case the film was amazing too.

I could see this trailer making a lot of people disappointed after they watch the movie. It gives off such a different feel to what the movie is actually like.
The shame about this movie is the first half of it, while clearly science fiction, was just believable enough to keep me fully immersed in the story, which only increased the disappointment when it inexplicably turned into a supernatural slasher horror flick full of disorienting jump cuts. It’s really too bad because the original premise was strong enough on its own, the visual effects were incredible, the music was great, and the actors did an excellent job with their mediocre characters. Better writing could have made this movie a 10/10 for the ages.
Say what you want about how the movie actually played out, but this trailer had to have been one of the best from the 2000's. Almost no dialogue, the song in the background (sorry I forgot the name of it...I know I should, don't cruficy me), showing quick-cut clips of epic drama and action, great actors, good CGI, good concept. Loved seeing this trailer as a kid.
It's interesting. I see a lot of comments here from people who don't like the trailer or who think it doesn't represent the movie well, but I think it's fantastic. And I'd say it demonstrates what the movie does best: small, individual moments of stunning beauty emphasised with amazing music. The overall plot of the film is a bit silly, but holy crap it looks and sounds good, and certain scenes, taken in isolation, are amongst the best Danny Boyle has ever created. And I agree, the fact there's almost no dialogue is a strength. Ultimately, although it's a sci-fi thriller, IMO this film works better just as a mood piece. Which is probably why I've only watched it all the way through once, but I've spent hours watching clips on UA-cam.
