- Come hike the 17-mile journey from the south rim of the Grand Canyon down to the Colorado River and back up all in one day with me! The following day I did some more touristy things and ended the trip on a colorful note with an epic sunset.

Hiked down with my wife 40 years ago to camp at Phantom Ranch soon after we met. First of our adventures together. Snow at the Rim , 80 degrees at the River. Mac and cheese for dinner. Great video. Thanks!

I knew a guy that used to work at the Grand Canyon Lodge and after work around 9 PM he would set up on the Grand Canyon rim above the trails And listen to the people calling for help from the various places on the trail where they could be heard… “ help me help me!” He and his friends would drink beer and Howl with laughter… I’m really glad your hike went super well, good job.
oh no! 😂 the park advises guests not to attempt this hike unless you are a highly active person and have experience hiking in the desert. it was definitely hard, thanks ❤️

Reminds me of when we would stay in Long Beach Washington and sit there at the entrance where you can drive onto the beach and watch people get stuck and then have to call for a tow truck. We'd make bets on which ones were going to get stuck.🤭😆
Many people underestimate the difficulty of go up. Grand Canyon can be brutal.

Thank you for sharing your adventure. My 2 lady friends and I were there in October 1, 2023, so almost a year now. I'd love to do it again before I get any older ( I'm already 67). I couldn't make it all the way down to the river, too much sitting on my ass zoning out on UA-cam. I was blown away by the elk and their total disregard for the humans. Huge bull elk just hanging out at the very busy store/laundrymat/campground. We had one frosty night in our tents, but the days were perfect.

thankfully no one was hurt 😩 the views were even cooler at night! the moon flooded the canyon with light but the camera wouldn't capture it. 🤷♀️
The last three miles of Bright Angel are brutal!
I have done that hike several times; never in one day, you are a beast!

Well, I think it's 25 miles or so, rim to rim of the Grand Canyon. I've been to the canyon a few times but never did a real down and up hike. Congratulations! Good job and good photo-work showing where you are. Thanks. Here's looking at you from Northern Nevada, near Lake Tahoe. 😎
