on the road again - US Southwest Road Trip, day 1 - Zion NP (Jan. 2025)

Day 1 vlog of a 5-day road trip through the American Southwest. Today's adventure includes the arrival to Utah's Zion National Park and a 9-mile hike up to the West Rim from the Grotto before ending the day in the small town of Springdale.

Thank you Laura. The last time I went to Zion on a whim when my business matters ended early in Las Vegas in the winter i walked on a part of the trail you were on. That was the only time I ever saw a porcupine way up in a mostly barren tree I had not planned to go there so I used my suit jacket against the cold. I encountered a nice elderly couple on a stroll and the lady looked at me as I left, having pointed out the porcupine and she said, " Oh... an executive hiker." That is a memory I will never forget.

I am amazed at what you do! And I hope you have grants to support all this. Or... this is your whole hearted passion. I could see that. I remember the draw to do nothing else but hike and hiking life in the very early 70s! Thank you!!! Not over hyped at all.
