Thanks for the peek inside your Folio Society books. I don’t know if you have it, but the FS edition of ‘100 Years of Solitude’ is gorgeous! The artwork is beautiful enough to frame. And it comes in a beautifully illustrated slipcase to boot😊

Beautiful books. Haunting of HIll House I haven't read either, but a friend of mine loves it. I see yours has an introduction by Joyce Carol Oates which would be interesting. Interesting that Blade Runner was based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (which I've never heard of and never saw the movie!). Where did the name Blade Runner come from? Yes, might be cool to hear you compare them!

I actually don't remember why the movie is called Blade Runner 🤔
I didn't even notice the introduction was by Joyce Carol Oates! I've never read anything by her, but will soon be reading her shirt story 'where are you going' which was adapted into a movie. I've heard so much about her, so I'm curious to read her work.
If you read book house before me, let me know what you think!

Nice collection! I love my Folio Society books too, and even own all but that Agatha Cristie novel that you shared. Now you're making me want to purchase it too LOL! Have you ever considered Suntup books? They're a bit pricey, but gorgeous. I also recently got a Century Press book, The Great Gatsby that feels so luxurious in my hands. It's their first book. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you 😁😁 And I did a book vs movie for crooked house last year! I enjoyed the movie overall and thought it was a good adaptation.

Great video. I am just placing my first order with FS and I will be adding Jane Eyre to my cart. May as well as I’ve maxed out the shipping cost (yikes) 🤣
Your comments on The Haunting of Hill House made me laugh as I’ve owned a copy for a few years and am too scared to read it 🫣 Maybe this will be the year I tackle my fears.

And lol, I'm planning on reading it sometime in the next couple months so we'll see how it goes 😬 haha

Lovely books. Even though the Jane eyre from the 60’s is in rough shape it would be letterpress printed which adds to the reading experience and you have to pay a lot for any book done this way now days. I think it’s basically any folio edition before early 70’s was letterpress.

Hello..really enjoy your videos. I am huge into folio..all the GoT and more...do you read the F books or other versions instead and keep F for "art"

The Haunting of Hill House is one of my favourite books. I own this one and all of the three Brontë books by the Folio Society. But I think the most beautiful one I have by FS is True Grit.

Folio Society makes some outstanding books. Well. Book interiors. But I really do prefer Easton and even Canterbury for their covers. It's frustrating. There are some exceptions. Folio Society put out an edition of Beowulf that is just stunning.

Easton Press also has an incredible deluxe edition of Beowulf that I want so bad!

The Haunting of Hill House is scary, its strength is caring for the characters and their human reactions to ghosts and it’s not graphic, but one thing you may not like is the houses try’s to possess the main character

Hmm that kind of reminds me of the book the shining. Thanks for letting me know! I love books that make you truly care for the characters so that makes me excited about it
