I love the musical styles chosen for this review. It's as if it's a retro review of a modern car. I know it's been said everywhere, but it's cool how the show has kept the same formula for road tests in the almost 4 decades it's been on the air.
In a few years this will cost 35000 and will still look just as good. I'll take this or the Continental....but that upcoming Aviator look like it's going to be a smash hit....
Mr. Cairo, the LX570 has never been the best of the luxury brands and it's so old and long in the tooth now, that it will have to be put out to pasture.
Acc0rd79 - Hey what are you doing here ? It was cool to see we were looking at the same thing. Just wanted to say hello. Now I better get back to your channel.
It’s good to see the Lincoln Navigator return to the top of the American luxury SUV segment. Ford’s Kentucky plant can’t churn these out fast enough for customers to buy.
I know it's not what the typical buyer wants in a vehicle like this, but if they'd give it just a hint of off-road ruggedness, I'd consider it. It could be done without compromising the luxury much at all.
We owned the 1998 Navigator and was wonderful. If it wasn't for an accident we would still have it. General Motors made a really great vehicle out of the Navigator!
I always loved the 2nd nav! And now this one! Yes they hit the nail on this one! And they went back to there roots! Glad they put the 90s look on this like before! And v6???!!! Ummmmm i remember they had v8s in 90s! And the seats and roof lining to the 90 colors red and blue baby blue seats wow i like!!! BUT the PRICE! HELL NO! i only see the other side of rice would buy this! You know what i mean yall!! But they did a good job on this one! If only i had the coins to get this! But I'm not Donald Trump!...lmao
Dajour D I agree with you the navigator was amazing back then and now and it’s Uber luxurious but it’s a luxury SUV I mean if they added cool things to match the price like they kinda did it would make sense but still Lincoln is a luxury car company so you should expect it
20.6 average MPG. Did you guys drive downhill for the entire test? Everywhere else these trucks are missing the EPA estimates. Usually averaging 15mpg at best
They start off talking about the 90s Navigator and Escalade and conclude the Navigator missed the mark. But actually, when the Navigator was originally released, it out sold the Escalade for a few years. Ford let it rot on the vine though.
I see, Detroit has found a way to make sure these cars don't end up in the ghetto. Ironically, that also means these cars will never end up in Detroit.
14.5s only reaches the small block muscle cars. The big blocks muscle classic such as Chevelle SS LS6 454, All the late 60's Hemis and the most powerful Ford Muscles orbits around the mid to low 13s... Some special versions including the big blocks full sizes pre muscle Era like the mythical Z11 427 Impalas could reach the low 12s or even high 11s...
For the money the Lexus LX is the better buy. It still has the V8 and Toyota quality/resale value. This thing will be in the ghetto within 4-5 years and drop to under $10K in trade well before 10 years while the LX will still be worth well over $10K over 20 years from new.
I must admit, this new Navigator is beautiful but what’s it gonna be like after let’s say 4 yrs on the road and 49k. Will it hold up or fall apart like legos. Quality is not something that we are used to anymore unfortunately, o wait, a new model will come out by than and we will forget about this stunning 2018 Navigator.
Lincolns new approach is great but they need to bring it to every vehicle. The nautilus and MKZ, and even the continental, might have the new grille but they still share far too much with their ford counterparts
QuietStormX, the interior of the Navigator is way nicer than the Escalade. The 6.2 V8 is rated at 420 HP and 460 lbs ft of torque The 3.5 V6 EcoBoost is rated at 450 HP and 510 lbs ft of torque
How can we demand them to give us a V8 option ? I’m simply not buying that EcoBoost shit, that floating roofline as we know is screaming Range Rover with a Jaguar grille but they did own the two ( PAG ), impressed though they should make a 5.0 Model or at least as an option when this new next gen Escalade drops to hold its ground !
Corey Adams, why V8 ? Ford is even using the EcoBoost in the Ford GT. The Navigator has 450 horsepower and 510 lbs ft torque. It runs the quarter mile 14.5 seconds
Corey Adams Did you hear the stats on that engine/trans combo? A v8 could not be that efficient and powerful. For what purpose would they offer it? Exhaust sound? C'mon dude!
0-60 in 5.9 seconds. Was under the impression that aluminum everything knocked out 750 lbs across the board. At 450 hp and 510 lbs ft and awd, this is either a pig or really over rated
I can never make it through these videos. The music is straight of a 90s tutorial and the old man is screaming like he's an AM radio station host. 2 minutes in that's all I could do.
Having bought one, I'd definitely disagree. Shopping around, the Tahoe Premier was $75,000. The Escalade was about $90,000, but none of them came close to the design, interior luxury, or beautiful classy exterior.
OMG did you take the music str8 from the 91 season? Jesus the music is so glaring its hard to see the suv behind it. Its not loud its terribly dated and bad. Someone had to have put this in as a joke, im not laughing! Haha no i am.
Seriously? This is what impresses people? Get into a similarly priced Range Rover, and that is what real luxury is. Not this plastichrome POS Ford. Though I will admit, the Lincoln will definitely need far fewer trips to the dealer for service.
An absolute waste of money, coupled with too much tech, a bad engine/trans combo, body panels destined to fall off in the first 2 years, and it wont sell for more than $8k in a couple of years on dealer lots. My take? Dont even bother waiting it out for asecond hand model. Skip this, and the escalade, and buy something reliable and worth your money.
L RulesTheWorld I think your take is for you. Everything you said was an over-exaggeration to the 10th power and wholly untrue. But thank you for sharing your prognostication. I hope you aren't giving advice in real life on any other topics.
I love the musical styles chosen for this review. It's as if it's a retro review of a modern car. I know it's been said everywhere, but it's cool how the show has kept the same formula for road tests in the almost 4 decades it's been on the air.
Dam that blue interior is sexy.
DevPack I would take destination interior
In a few years this will cost 35000 and will still look just as good. I'll take this or the Continental....but that upcoming Aviator look like it's going to be a smash hit....
This Navigator looks BEAUTIFUL! I'd take this or a Range Rover.
David Aubin I’m not a big fan of the rear tail Ohhh design. But it does look very beautiful
Lol Range Rover will take as much to keep running
Range Rover liability is worse than Mercedes liability.
omar khan the concept rear light were better but too bad they didn’t made to the production model
reliability not liability
Just had one on test last week, love the new Navigator - possibly the best luxury SUV currently on sale!
Mr. Cairo, the LX570 has never been the best of the luxury brands and it's so old and long in the tooth now, that it will have to be put out to pasture.
Mr. Cairo i think you meant the MBS autobiography,
Mr. Cairo still this Navi got the best look both exterior and interior
Good review. American SUVs are back!!
I remember my parents buying houses for cheaper than this in the 90s! lol My how times have changed.
$14K for a house in the 50's but you can still find some for less in Detroit,MI and Dayton,OH
Acc0rd79 - Hey what are you doing here ? It was cool to see we were looking at the same thing. Just wanted to say hello. Now I better get back to your channel.
5.9 sec. 0-60?
This and the Continental are very outstanding
did the soundtrack come from an 80's sitcom? holy crap that sax.. not gonna lie.. i like it.
i couldn’t look away from that cone test it was so strangely cool
This guy is immortal. He hasn't aged in 30 years!
Potato Potato : well...a bit less hair
I love the 80’s music great job guys
Better looking than anything from Japan.
Christopher Calder yes I agree. Lexus is nothing compared to American luxury
Especially Toyota Land cruiser 😡
That's not very hard to do. It'd be more of a compliment to compare it to European offerings.
RELIABILITY?
To people with your taste, yeah.
It’s good to see the Lincoln Navigator return to the top of the American luxury SUV segment. Ford’s Kentucky plant can’t churn these out fast enough for customers to buy.
I remember the 90s but I never driven the newer Navigator since it came out in 2018 it looks very modern and more spacious I got a test drive one
I'm looking forward to new Aviator!
Just amazing what a machine 👍🏻
This is the first Big American Ute I've seen with an interior befitting it's lofty badge and price.
the best luxury SUV out there.
I know it's not what the typical buyer wants in a vehicle like this, but if they'd give it just a hint of off-road ruggedness, I'd consider it. It could be done without compromising the luxury much at all.
for something that heavy it can haul ass
Big WIN for Lincoln
I would like to see this with a floating roof ala Ford Flex. Sharp looking vehicle.
We owned the 1998 Navigator and was wonderful. If it wasn't for an accident we would still have it. General Motors made a really great vehicle out of the Navigator!
Lucas Stuart-Chilcote ... eh, Ford-Lincoln....unless you were being facetious
Looking forward to seeing this in Maywood in 10 years
Best soccer mom's SUVs ever.
I always loved the 2nd nav! And now this one! Yes they hit the nail on this one! And they went back to there roots! Glad they put the 90s look on this like before! And v6???!!! Lincoln navigator ki launch kahan par hua hai uski price and
details chahiye 2019
👏🏽 gonna get loads of 🐈 or 🐓 in that thing! Lol
Was this video made in the 90s?
20.6 average MPG. Did you guys drive downhill for the entire test? Everywhere else these trucks are missing the EPA estimates. Usually averaging 15mpg at best
I own one and in "conserve" mode I get 22 hwy with the AC blasting
Best of luck on the sled. I had a 98 Navigator way back when it first came out.
Jon DeSalvatore very possible I own a 16 Tahoe I average 22 city
They start off talking about the 90s Navigator and Escalade and conclude the Navigator missed the mark. But actually, when the Navigator was originally released, it out sold the Escalade for a few years. Ford let it rot on the vine though.
very nice, i'll take one in white please.
"I'll see you in the ghetto in 11 years"
Hahahaha
Sad, but true
5 years. American cars don't last 11 years goofy
I see, Detroit has found a way to make sure these cars don't end up in the ghetto. Ironically, that also means these cars will never end up in Detroit.
CRA_55....wow! that's a jacked up thing to say. Not even sure what you're basing that on or why you chose to share it.
Very handsome machine indeed
Looks just like the past
14.5 in the 1\4. That's quicker than most 'muscle cars' of the 60's-70's and twice the weight.
Oh, it's faster than a 50 year old car? What an achievement!
RELIABILITY?
I would like to buy a vowel..
0-60 in 5.9? This thing is faster than my Lincoln Mark VIII!
approved
What a sleeper
The music reminds me of 80's porn and 90's car commercials, specially with this guys voice and tone!
Sweet
Gotta imagine what a V8 would do...
sonnyblack0870 Not much, Unless it was blown. That is one heavy truck. I highly doubt the Raptor 6.2 engine would move this any faster.
For the money the Lexus LX is the better buy. It still has the V8 and Toyota quality/resale value. This thing will be in the ghetto within 4-5 years and drop to under $10K in trade well before 10 years while the LX will still be worth well over $10K over 20 years from new.

This says "REO"💜
Lincolns new approach is great but they need to bring it to every vehicle. The nautilus and MKZ, and even the continental, might have the new grille but they still share far too much with their ford counterparts
if with a six-cylinder turbo delivers all that power as it would be with an eight-cylinder turbo
The Escalade and Navigator look nice but those prices are too damn high. Almost cost more than 2018 Kenworth T680 and this truck is fully loaded.
5.9. Zero to 60 wow
I hear they can't make them as fast as they are selling them
En republica dominicana
The black with wood is not this cars high point. Get the blue with chrome or maroon with wood interior
JD!
why don't luxurious sedans like this, not a reworked fusion? The interior is beautiful, but their cars are warmed over fusions
Scott Walper this is nowhere near a fusion
$98,000 .....if I had that kind of money, I could pay off my house
What's you point?
Hmm. If I had $4MIL for a Bugatti I could retire?! I'm not seeing why you'd leave that comment. It's the #1 ranked Large Luxury SUV.
Elpresio
A Boat with a Boosted V6..... No Cadillac Escalade with a 6.2L V8....
QuietStormX, the interior of the Navigator is way nicer than the Escalade.
The 6.2 V8 is rated at 420 HP and 460 lbs ft of torque
The 3.5 V6 EcoBoost is rated at 450 HP and 510 lbs ft of torque
And So.. I'm a Chevy and GM Guy since a Kid... More options for you and brands $$$$$
How can we demand them to give us a V8 option ? I’m simply not buying that EcoBoost shit, that floating roofline as we know is screaming Range Rover with a Jaguar grille but they did own the two ( PAG ), impressed though they should make a 5.0 Model or at least as an option when this new next gen Escalade drops to hold its ground !

if they want 1960s again bring a v8 red sedan back duh?? not a fwd v6
I can never make it through these videos. The music is straight of a 90s tutorial and the old man is screaming like he's an AM radio station host. 2 minutes in that's all I could do.
Nice but WAY overpriced
Having bought one, I'd definitely disagree. Shopping around, the Tahoe Premier was $75,000. The Escalade was about $90,000, but none of them came close to the design, interior luxury, or beautiful classy exterior.
Instead of all these "ECO BOOST" engines, just make CYLINDER DEACTIVATION V8s... that's 1 way the ESCALADE will win: THE ROAR OF A V8
That's one retro looking pimped out minivan.
V6 😰🤬
73k lol smh .... only a fool would pay that much for a Ford.
98 000 dollars for a... V6?
Still a ford
OMG did you take the music str8 from the 91 season? Jesus the music is so glaring its hard to see the suv behind it. Its not loud its terribly dated and bad. Someone had to have put this in as a joke, im not laughing! Haha no i am.
The music is tongue in cheek since we referenced the 90's in the Road Test intro.
I like the music! Reminds me of the 1990’s when I was a kid watching Motor Week on PBS. So many critics today, lol.
Its a ford... so no thanks, Theres no V8....so no thanks, its $100 grand def no thanks !
Seriously? This is what impresses people? Get into a similarly priced Range Rover, and that is what real luxury is. Not this plastichrome POS Ford. Though I will admit, the Lincoln will definitely need far fewer trips to the dealer for service.
have you ever even been in a Navigator
Wow!!! This atrocity has so many options that will soon stop working n make all that money paid by whoever buys this thing go down the drain
75 to100k...for a glorified FORD????
PASS.

Thanks for your expert opinion.
jeepthing98 You're going from bad to worse there. 'Luxury' anything should be ignored. I said reliable, not 'return to dealer every week'.
L RulesTheWorld I think your take is for you. Everything you said was an over-exaggeration to the 10th power and wholly untrue. But thank you for sharing your prognostication. I hope you aren't giving advice in real life on any other topics.
