Fantastic review Mark! Not only do I get the sense that you were more than pleasantly surprised with this Navigator, but the thoroughness and layout of the review was exactly what I feel people appreciate in a video review.
Aleixei Demirov the whole point of these types of luxury vehicles is the ride and how quiet they are. Nobody is buying a Navigator or Escalade for their exhaust notes.
Kudos to Lincoln! I've owned Mercedes since the late 1980's and still to this day my Navigator was our favorite 'car.' The extra 1' makes a huge difference for luggage and if you're travelling with your family IMO a must have option.
Mark, it was nice to get your unbiased take on this new Navigator. For such a large SUV, it is certainly very attractive with almost all of the contemporary "bells & whistles". Considering the fact that they are offering a power recline on that third row, it is somewhat odd that they didn't also include that feature in the much more frequently used second row captain's chairs. Nevertheless, still very impressive.
David Wolf Well its not really surprising. The third row has been electronically controlled in the navigator since 2003. And the second row hasn't. Plus the second row needs to slide and tilt. Being electric would have made that pain.
SECOND! Thank god you actually reviewed the 3rd row seats!! I’m always surprised by how many reviewers skip the third row as if it’s beneath them. Any who great review, wish you got a chance to test the long wheel base version. Hopefully this Lincoln is reliable!
I actually install the 3rd row seats in these and the expeditions, so im happy it was reviewed too. These new model navigators and expeditions are so nice, i take a lot of pride in them.
Brent Coleman thanks for making them bro! My family has the 2012 navigator L and love it thus far! Waiting for the newer one to get cheaper (buying pre owned cuz ain’t no one got the money for a new one) so I can get one too
How does it look like a minivan? It's Lincoln's heritage, it is its own unique design. A retro look from the taillights/reflectors that come across the whole hatch like they did come across the whole trunk lid of Lincoln's from the 1970's to 1990's. People really make stupid comments.
TheRealPANCHO 23 I'm proud to be hood adjacent. Growing up, I kept one foot in the inner-city and one foot in suburbia. It's all about cultural flexibility, home-skillet.
excellent review Mark, comprehensive, informative direct, mature and seriously "adult-oriented" and appreciated! Job well done, now if only I could swing that dang auto-loan, I'd be set (but that's not your concern)
I typically compare Lincoln to Cadillac, seeing the navigator compared to the Escalade I’m shocked. I always thought the Escalade was the best in the full sized market. After seeing the quality and overall build of the navigator I have realized that ford doesn’t just take a expedition and change the badging to Lincon like GM does with they’re full sized line up. And that 2nd row looks WAY better than the Escalades
Oh..yes and it dosent stand a chance, sorry True its reliable but no way near as comfortable as new Lincoln, also the Lincoln felt lighter on its feet despite its hefty 6000 lbs compared to Land Cruiser which felt like a BOAT on road
+Ian's Tech I hadn't heard of any, not saying they don't exist tho... My take on Cadillac is they need to stop trying to be BMW and focus on being distinctive in their own way.
keri ellerbe I agree completely. I remember seeing something on consumer reports saying the transmissions had issues. I take issue with the styling of it, the back mostly bothers me. The long LED lights to try and differentiate from the Tahoe and suburban is just excessive. I’ve always felt Cadillac was a somewhat subdued classy luxury brand.. some of the stuff they do now is more edgy than I prefer.
I drove it today. The seats are AMAZING, I’m not in love with the head lights or the back end of the suv. Smooth ride and really luxurious. I may still wait for the 2019 GLS REDESIGN and get that.
My only gripe is the fact that the weels dont fill the wheel arches better... just my opinion. I still think the Escalade exterior is nicer because i like aggressive cars, but i feel the interior of the caddilac just cant compare to this
Glad to see Lincoln step up their game, domestic brands NEED to start LEADING in the luxury car marketplace again. The ONLY drawback i noticed was that 8" google acer tablet sticking up out of the dashboard like an afterthought. It's a waste of time to design an elegant dashboard, only to slap a tablet up there front and center. Nonetheless, this is a very nice new entry. Hopefully, this will eat into the Escalade sales enough to FINALLY force GM to ditch that solid rear axle that ruins the ride of a supposedly premium luxury vehicle. People buy the Escalade for it's looks and road presence, but pretty much everyone hates the ride and useless 3rd row seating on the non extended versions.
I got this on a lease. There’s just little things that the competition doesn’t think of which I think will help it takeover the market. The v6 makes it nice and light.
Mark Claypole yes absolutely right, just my thoughts exactly, when I look at this Lincoln Navigator I see a boxy 1970s Range Rover or may be a 1980s Volvo 760 station wagon on steroids !!
Quick correction, I think he means the Navigator has been in its present form for only the past decade and a half, starting with 2003 MY. It got a radical frame/suspension redesign.
I'm a GM guy all the way but I must admit I sat in a Black Label one a couple days ago and it was way better then I expected. Not a perfect vehicle but I think it's the best Lincoln on sale now. The Continental didn't impress me. Lincoln needs to make the rest of the line up this good. Can't wait for the Cadillac answer to this.
Lincoln finally returning to the game with a full quality class competitor. That mf red interior, oh my god. I’ve been waiting so long for Lincoln to swoop back in with a bang and here we are bitch.
Not sure what is up with this trend of car manufacturers putting in screens that look like tacked on $150 Android tablets from 2012. Mercedes and others do the same. Other than that, I'm extremely impressed with the interior quality. Navigators don't have a reputation quality that's for sure.
Joseph Dawson screen is actually small and you're right it looks like a cheap android tablet. Show me a nice shiny 17" screen and mount it vertical, that would be the bomb!
Jonathan Jackson top of the line navigator is almost 100k. You are trying to say that for that kind of money they cpuld not have designed something better then what u see on an entry level benz? It looks terrible and out of place. Range rover isnt a huge sv but for much less u get 2 integrated screens
Tayshawn Price Have you look at the Mercedes Benz lineup? The only cars that have integrated navigation are the S class, the E class, SLC, and SL. Which leaves plenty of their vertical line up in the over 100k category with out Integrated navigation. Everyone is doing this
Yes unfortunately this toaster 🍞 looking display is now the norm in almost all luxury vehicles, and I'm not sure if it's a design fad or as others have suggested more practical reasons. In my opinion if they're sacrificing slick integrated then hopefully these evolve to become swappable to upgrade your hardware when these cars get older. Pop in a new computer and display.
I went to the dealership to look at this SUV. It is absolutely huge but appropriately sized to allow grown adults elbow room. I didn't care for the middle seating position in the third row as it was a tad hard also the belt buckle coming from the ceiling down was annoying. Getting out of the third row kids are going to have a blast! They get the jump! 😁 Yes I know there's step available but I did jump and it would be kid approved! (in my 49 year old mind). Was some of you might not be able to see in the video the burgundy seats have silver tinsel glitter type thread throughout the seating so the wifie will definitely like that. At least mine will. Haha. Unfortunately at $100,000 this is well above my paycheck. Having said that I give a round of applause to Lincoln. If this doesn't win some awards I'll be surprised. Well done engineers! Take a bow.👏
So glad Lincoln stepped up their game by not putting out another re-badged Expedition... GM has been doing that with the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade for the longest time now...
Currently have a Volvo XC90-2016 with pilot assist . In a few years hopefully Ford can finally incorporate some level 2 autonomy features. I agree with the reviewer on taking the Lincoln over the Escalade, but Ford has no answer to super cruise. If they add more autonomous features, this will be our next SUV
This is damn near the best family suv but for some strange reason my fav navigator will always be the 03-06 model, even to this day I still love that model.
I remember when the Navigator was the top luxury SUV back in the day. In my opinion even better than the Escalade. Fast forward today, I think I’ve seen maybe 2 newer Navigators in the past few years here in southern CA.
Lincoln has really stepped up here and the new look will most certainly attract a new target group that in the past wouldn't have looked at Lincoln. I'm still not sure about the curb appeal, there is something to be said for the sharpness of the Escalade. The other issue is price, yes its premium and demands a premium price but $100K?.....$75-$80 sure but I wonder if that price range for buyers that usually skip North American brands. I hope it sells well for Lincoln's sake.
Just got out of Austin Auto Show, and AFTER 3 hours (eat, my kid play & check every single brand that is more than 40), we can say that the latest 2018 Lincoln Navigator is the best SUV with 3rd Row seat in the planet. We checked ALL of them (Asian made, European, North American made, etc...). Their top of the line that's in the $100+k beats every single SUV with 3rd row seat, and the sound by REVEL is super awesome. IF u want SUV with 3rd row seat plus with the best seats (it's super comfortable, even the 3rd row seats), then this is it! MOST (if NOT all) people in the comment section, didn't see it yet in person, so IF you don't, shut the F up! Have a great day to y'all
We received here at the rent-a-car in Las Vegas, Enterprise company , these are very crazy , very very high end, some much so this is under the exotic catagory(porsh, jag, range, Corvette, lambo, etc) in our fleet rather then premium catagory
This reviewer is nice, good voice, good explanation, good overall
Fantastic review Mark! Not only do I get the sense that you were more than pleasantly surprised with this Navigator, but the thoroughness and layout of the review was exactly what I feel people appreciate in a video review.
I'm so proud of these guys. They are really trying and are finally seeing results with time and resources invested. Go Lincoln, go!
I am 100 percent loyal to Cadillac but I’ll admit this is one sharp looking SUV.
But i would still prefer the Cadillac
Both brands have gone to shit since they both dumped full frame cars
tristan whitney this car has seats that are more comfortable than a rolls royce
Mystic_ 112 I'm talking about cars such as the DTS, Deville, town car, continental, etc. Rolls Royce's are ugly.
tristan whitney ugly? I guess u don't have taste in cars lol
4:58 when you finally find the rare car but suddenly it spawns everywhere -.- (GTA)
Rufus 😂🤣😂🤣😂 exactly my thoughts.
XD
That second Navigator mindfucked me for a second there 😂 I was like, WTH!
Lmao! good one
LOL truee
no reason to go with a tahoe, suburban or escalade now. This Navigator looks fire inside and out.
Curtis Chastain but that v6 sounds trash , compared to the escalade that has a big ol v8
Aleixei Demirov isn't this v6 faster then the v8?
TheKillerace900 i m talking bout the exhaust note
Aleixei Demirov the whole point of these types of luxury vehicles is the ride and how quiet they are. Nobody is buying a Navigator or Escalade for their exhaust notes.
Pennywise i bought a g55 and its fully straight pipedd... fully.....that shit sound like god is coming to slap the shit out of you
Kudos to Lincoln! I've owned Mercedes since the late 1980's and still to this day my Navigator was our favorite 'car.' The extra 1' makes a huge difference for luggage and if you're travelling with your family IMO a must have option.
Nice job Lincoln. Time to reclaim your rightful place in the premium SUV market. Next on the list.... a luxury coupe .....
Cornbread 70's Ford must have started designing this one in the early 90's and finally got it to market now.
Cornbread 70's Ford must have started designing this one in the early 90's and finally got it to market now.
Richard Johnson Lincoln been doing their own work since 2010
I would love a new Mark Series...I'd love to one day add a Mark IX to my two Mark VIIs
No one would buy it. Crossovers and SUV's are what people are buying now.
David Wolf Well its not really surprising. The third row has been electronically controlled in the navigator since 2003. And the second row hasn't. Plus the second row needs to slide and tilt. Being electric would have made that pain.
Unbiased? How do you know?
Waiting for the newer one to get cheaper (buying pre owned cuz ain’t no one got the money for a new one) so I can get one too
Janez Novak .... still had sex... so I’m still winning...
I'm a big fan of Lincoln the new Navigator is absolutely gorgeous.
Neal Gilbert I'm *NOT* a big fan of Lincoln, the new navigator is absolutely gorgeous
One of the best reviews in a long time, everything is detail'd and explained nicely.
Thanks for watching!
lincoln navigator interior + cadillac escalade exterior = perfect luxury SUV
Prefer the exterior of the escalade but love the interior of this car. Not even just a good interior for Lincoln; it looks nicer than many other cars.
I love that kind of 1980s whorehouse red interior. It's just so nice.
What an elegant car, Lincoln really step up this ye-
AAAND the back looks like a mini van
DC lel
How does it look like a minivan? It's Lincoln's heritage, it is its own unique design. A retro look from the taillights/reflectors that come across the whole hatch like they did come across the whole trunk lid of Lincoln's from the 1970's to 1990's. People really make stupid comments.
notformebeaky actually a few designers from Jaguar and Land Rover work for Ford now, most of Ford cars in the US are European designed LMFAO.
notformebeaky you're right, European cars are hideous. Americans should've never adopted European design.
you cant afford it so you talk shit LMAO
Excellent review presentation..best I've ever seen and at 53 and being a car guy... I've seen more than I can count. Simply excellent.
This is one of the best reviews I've ever heard good job.
Thank you for watching!
This was a great review, one of the best I have ever seen. Great job!!
Great video - Mark has a smooth presentation style and a great speaking voice. I hadn’t spent much time on this channel before now.
Nice job Lincoln.
Also, just a note that the Escalade & Yukon Denali have the auto running board as well.
just a note a 2004 Navigator has power running boards.
Those GM SUVs also have 3rd row seating that's perfect if you're 5 feet tall or shorter...
Yea power running boards have been around since the turn of the century... Guess he wasn't into cars then
Lincoln's new updated cars have been amazing. If they keep this up, Cadillac's going to have some real competition.
Perfect car for the hood after ten years.
kansalta
Says the guy who's never actually set foot in the "hood". Binge watching "The Wire" on HBO doesn't count, Holmes.
B j high Are you proud that you live or know the hood lol
kansalta that’s the escalade role now
TheRealPANCHO 23
I'm proud to be hood adjacent. Growing up, I kept one foot in the inner-city and one foot in suburbia. It's all about cultural flexibility, home-skillet.
nice Mr. Regular reference
in 10 years I think this will be a piece of shit though
Nice review. The guy is calm and not annoying . the navigator 18k is just the best suv right now.
Do you mean 2k18, as in 2018? Because there is no $18,000 Navigator.
excellent review Mark, comprehensive, informative direct, mature and seriously "adult-oriented" and appreciated! Job well done, now if only I could swing that dang auto-loan, I'd be set (but that's not your concern)
Great job Mark. You've got that perfect "D.J." voice for this kind of work. And the SUV is really nice, very impressive.
And that 2nd row looks WAY better than the Escalades
this guy is an excellent reviewer with a strong eye for detail
The more I see this new Navigator, the more I like it!
A red interior? I haven't seen on of those in a looong time
The Guy On Your Right burgundy*
What it doesn't show you it has silver tinsel/sparkles imbedded in the seats. 😁
Fantastic review, dude sounds like a therapist, perfect for luxury auto review
Surpassed my expectations for sure. Good job Lincoln!
It’s amazing what an Improvement this is over the last one.
best 3 row luxury SUV period!!
Oh..yes and it dosent stand a chance, sorry
True its reliable but no way near as comfortable as new Lincoln, also the Lincoln felt lighter on its feet despite its hefty 6000 lbs compared to Land Cruiser which felt like a BOAT on road
Yeah those low volume sellers are the talk of the town....
BINGO, and the thing that truly makes the Lincoln better than the Caddy is having a REAL 3rd row.
Mope there is a lot more than that
An IRS that makes a world of a difference in how it rides and handles
The new Interior
The seats
3rd row
The Toyota Land and Lexus LX570 are much better then this
Cadillac better bring something soon or this will rightfully takeover.
Cadillac needs to scrap the CUE system and have independent rear suspension.
keri ellerbe didn’t the new ones have transmission issues also?
+Ian's Tech I hadn't heard of any, not saying they don't exist tho... My take on Cadillac is they need to stop trying to be BMW and focus on being distinctive in their own way.

The long LED lights to try and differentiate from the Tahoe and suburban is just excessive. I’ve always felt Cadillac was a somewhat subdued classy luxury brand.. some of the stuff they do now is more edgy than I prefer.
GM V8 I think in the next year or two the redesign of the of the Escalade is coming
I still think the Escalade exterior is nicer because i like aggressive cars, but i feel the interior of the caddilac just cant compare to this
Looks like a genuinely great interior. It took Ford a while, but it looks like they finally get it.
I don’t care about SUVs but that thing’s a rolling cigar lounge! Old school yet modern classy interior.
I really like that the interior actually has some color in it.

People buy the Escalade for it's looks and road presence, but pretty much everyone hates the ride and useless 3rd row seating on the non extended versions.
ALL very valid points - thanks for watching!
Is there going to be a 5th generation of the already beautiful Lincoln Navigator this year??
Really luxurious car Lincoln did great job with 2018 navigator
I got this on a lease. There’s just little things that the competition doesn’t think of which I think will help it takeover the market. The v6 makes it nice and light.
If you listen to Mark...He sounds just like Pat Sajak from Wheel of Fortune LOL
This Navigator is blowing my mind right now.
This truck is BEAUTIFUL!
Damn this looks good and equipped with some great features.
Good review Mark. Great job
Woahhh, look at the interior colour. Very awesome. : D
What a classy and professional review....
Side profile and lines have a Range Rover resemblance. I dig it.
Mark Claypole yes absolutely right, just my thoughts exactly, when I look at this Lincoln Navigator I see a boxy 1970s Range Rover or may be a 1980s Volvo 760 station wagon on steroids !!
I really don't see it
Quick correction, I think he means the Navigator has been in its present form for only the past decade and a half, starting with 2003 MY.
Don't remember you saying anything about air suspension.
How did they achieve such a smooth ride?
Shoutout to Ford for still allowing the 2nd gen Nav, to still be the best looking Ford SUV inside and out.
It's simple integrated units are more expensive to install, sell, replace, and or fix. They aren't going to copy Tesla, nobody is trying to be them
Jonathan Jackson top of the line navigator is almost 100k. You are trying to say that for that kind of money they cpuld not have designed something better then what u see on an entry level benz? It looks terrible and out of place. Range rover isnt a huge sv but for much less u get 2 integrated screens

In my opinion if they're sacrificing slick integrated then hopefully these evolve to become swappable to upgrade your hardware when these cars get older. Pop in a new computer and display.
This is everything I've dreamed for an American suv
Practical, and luxurious. Papa Bless McConaughey Lincoln !!!!🙌🏼
That interior is beautiful.
I will someday own one, perhaps, after it is ready for a redesign! One thing intrigued me: what is “dual point” fuel injection?
I see they are still matching interior color(s) w/the exterior color; a nice retro 60s/70s/80s/90s throwback...
So glad Lincoln stepped up their game by not putting out another re-badged Expedition... GM has been doing that with the Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade for the longest time now...
Lincoln I am impressed this is the new luxury SUV this car will beat every SUV good job *claps* 😀😀👍👍👏👏👏
Ultimate family road trip SUV
Nice review, but no mention of horsepower...or did I miss it????
Very well composed car review. This guy is good.
I️ gotta say, I’m impressed with this thing. Looks very nice. GM is going to have to step up its game for the new gen of full size SUV’s
Lincoln brought back the swag
Currently have a Volvo XC90-2016 with pilot assist . In a few years hopefully Ford can finally incorporate some level 2 autonomy features. I agree with the reviewer on taking the Lincoln over the Escalade, but Ford has no answer to super cruise.
If they add more autonomous features, this will be our next SUV
Taking the Lincoln over the Navigator? The Navigator is a Lincoln.
I like this guy, excellent Review, with the things that matter in real life..... a 10.... Bravo
This is damn near the best family suv but for some strange reason my fav navigator will always be the 03-06 model, even to this day I still love that model.
What's with all the dislikes? This is one hell of an impressive review, subbed.
Thank you for the sub!
impressive for a new vehicle. Nice color scheme
Did I miss a drivetrain description? I caught the mention of a 10 speed transmission... But what engine is under the hood?
Good review and insight into the finer details!
Alright Cadillac, SHOTS FIRED!!!
Amazing looking vehicle! If it had the money this is defiantly the suv I would get! Along to go with a nice truck!
I remember when the Navigator was the top luxury SUV back in the day. In my opinion even better than the Escalade. Fast forward today, I think I’ve seen maybe 2 newer Navigators in the past few years here in southern CA.
Looks good. A little disappointed that the second row seating is not power adjustable but the third is.
Ooooh my god this thing is clean my wife owns a navigator...beautiful vehicles
Those wheels though! 100% dope.
Awesome so it’s an expedition. Literally down to the buttons that fold down the seats.
I will buy one very soon , for my road trips
great review guy! no fake hype and fancy talk.

MOST (if NOT all) people in the comment section, didn't see it yet in person, so IF you don't, shut the F up!
Have a great day to y'all
Lincoln Navigator Review GANGNAM STYLE!!
This is dope, I’ll have it by 2022 Mark my word, I’ll come back in 5 years and let yaw know
They did a very job with this, to me this is the better choice over the Escalade.
I just wish it wasn't $100k.
Rxonmymind Well, the Escalade is also 100k...
This thing is amazing looking.
Excellent review
This looks light years better than the Caddy Escalade. Great job Lincoln!
We received here at the rent-a-car in Las Vegas, Enterprise company , these are very crazy , very very high end, some much so this is under the exotic catagory(porsh, jag, range, Corvette, lambo, etc) in our fleet rather then premium catagory
Also wow. What a fantastic review.
Great review!! Great Vehicle. I want one.
I own a Cadillac escalade, looks great!!! Rides like a mazda truck from 1998..
From watching a review of a car to talking about race unbelievable
Finally a good looking Lincoln
