This one fell solidly in the “I like the smell, but I don’t want to smell like it” category. Thanks for another video. One of the best channels out there.
Great review, guys. You nailed it: a perfume for perfume lovers. This one has it all for me, skill, structure, imagination, a story, a few magic tricks, and geez it just plain old smells great. I think a casual perfume lover might enjoy it too. It just wouldn’t be the same cerebral rush that a frag lover gets from it. Fantastic stuff and definitely a top 3 zoologist… maybe even no 1 ??? Who knows!
I think you guys got it right on. I needed a bottle after sampling too. I wish it lasted a bit longer maybe, but it’s still good for 8 hours, which is fine. Also it seems to really cling to fabric, but you lose some of the muskiness you get on skin. It feels like you could wear it almost any season, day or night, but I haven’t tried it in the cold. My favourite Zoologist so far.
I was really looking forward to this too. What a crushing disappointment. From the notes and the kyphi inspiration I was expecting an exotic amber. What I got was a nauseatingly sweet aldehydic white flower bomb - and it wears that way for hours and hours. Once that finally disappears there is a faint trace of olibanum, benzoin, myrrh. No wine, no plum, no oakmoss, no civit, no lemon. The floral element literally drowns out all the other notes. I'm so happy I didn't order a full bottle. This is amped-up Chanel No 5 for three times the price.
Great review guys! I have a sample of Sacred Scarab and it was a love from the second sniff! First it smelled like an old but expensive soap bar to me.😁 Now I’m thinking of full bottle or 10 ml.🖤
Awesome review, thanks a lot! Sacred Scarab is 10/10, such a lovely fragrance! I find it also particularly interesting how Sacred Scarab changes initial impressions the more often you wear it. To me it's relatively easy to wear.
Hooray! Back from the awards and nominations to the content format this scent-disciple loves the most! The two of you in relaxed mode, dialogue, chat, stories and knowledge sharing. All (bien sur!) accompanied by vin rouge 🍷 Pricey for maybe what it is? You seemed mildy underwhelmed by this one or maybe 🤔 not? I've been wearing #Rogueperfumery Bon Monsieur and #Guerlain Herb 🌿 Frescia over the last few days... #scents #fragrance #perfumes
So much hype around this one already! Intriguing. Hey guys - what perfumery shops in London would you recommend I visit for sniffing? Want to visit Floris again but not sure where else.
@@WaftsfromTheLoft thank you for your recommendations. East Dulwich looks like a interesting place. Is everything pretty much back to normal re: trading hours now?
Great review! May I ask if this Sacred Scarab is in the same league as Elie Saab's Amber or Serge Lutens Ambre Sultan, or even Andy Tauer's Marocain? I am wondering why I hear reviewers warning not to blind buy, or that this can be challenging. I am looking for clean amber scents. Thanks.
This is certainly not a straight up Amber scent. As we say, it’s very much a fragrance of two halves, with a distinctly ‘vintage’ first half. As such, it’s not really at all like the fragrances you mention.
I love it when the boys look like they're having a slumber party
😅😂🤣
Thank you for the review and discussion. I am very happy that you have found it enjoyable. It’s definitely made Sultan Pasha proud.
It’s a triumph. Congratulations!

That’s interesting, and I can understand why. If you’re going to spend this sort of money on a fragrance it’s important you connect with it
Thank you for the review. I love Zoologist. I am going to pick up a bottle.
My full bottle’s set to arrive today-likely within the hour-and I’m so excited. Loved my sample, and was surprised by how summer-appropriate it was.
Enjoy!

This is a wonderful release. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Oh! I LOVE Sacred Scarab! At least 2 fb purchase for me!
Bravo Rachel !
400 years old! Wow! Sounds like a great introduction to the perfume too. Lovely review gentlemen.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the lovely review. I've yet to try a Zoologist perfume that hits home for me, but this might be the first. A sample is on the way.
They are all different perfumers, so it may just be a case of finding one that connects with you
A perfumelovers perfume that makes you happy and makes you think. Thats a really good description of this perfume, its intriguing in many ways.

Ha, I see what you mean by old expensive soap!
Ellen Covey did the original Bat. She has a Kyphi fragrance which I like quite a bit.
I was waiting for this 👏🏻
Hope it was worth the wait!
@@WaftsfromTheLoft It was and I agree - very strong release!
While I do miss the church setting, this house looks really lovely as well
Cool Barn!
Thanks!

Certainly not underwhelmed! Perhaps just subdued by the wine!

Jovoy, Harrods
@@TheMiscexpense thank you. Have you been to Bloom in Covent Garden? I'm hoping to go to places that won't be too crowded.
Definitely Jovoy. Bloom has a great selection as well. Fortnum and Masons. If you don’t mind heading out of town a little, Roullier white is great
