As usual that was a lovely half an hour I just spent with you guys. I love the way you riff of one another in your discussions. Great and thorough breakdown of these two very interesting fragrances. I'm still laughing about the Wasabi Pea up the nose 😂🤢👃🤧
My T-rex sample came in today, and I'm smelling as I'm watching 😂 I definitely got a burst of pink pepper in the opening, and the next thing that hit me was Civet. It smells very animalic on my skin on a background of burnt ground or soil. Heavy and resinous, too. I also smell something of blood Accord, which strangely makes me like it more actually. Another masterpiece that makes me wish I lived in an area with cooler weather 💛 Very nice review, guys.
I spent yesterday with T.Rex and what a huge, strange and beautiful beast it is. After the first blinding arc weld flash it became this long, long intoxicating smell of an anthracite-fuelled steelworks. I can still smell it on my right arm after 20 hours and having showered too. It may be expensive but only the smallest spritz is needed. Fantastic stuff. Today I’m testing MEM on my other arm and oh boy! Gardoni is, like Andy Tauer a true artist.
Wafts from The Loft I have just found a brilliant discussion between Victor Wong of Zoologist and Antonio Gardoni on the Zoologist Perfumes Blog. They discuss how the collaboration came about. Victor Wong made Gardoni a ‘mood board’ with images of ‘volcanic eruptions, forest fires, crazy gigantic flora, and of course, T.Rex tearing a poor victim’s body apart’. Thanks for your great review as always.
Wafts from The Loft holy F! T rex. Just got my sample. WOW. Unsure how to respond. Multidimensional, very deep masculine, decay, fire, ice. Wearable too. It’s art
This is the only fragrance from Zoologist that I have tried and didn't much care for, and I own and enjoy some of the house's more challenging scents such as Hyrax. So what is it about T-Rex that puts me off?? In short it is the way that the floral notes clash harshly with the cade oil in this perfume that I find so unappealing. I get that this was intentional and some might say it is part of this perfume's charm. But it just doesn't work for me after having sampled it twice. That is not so say that I will never buy a bottle. There may come a time where my thoughts about this perfume will change, but it will take repeated sampling over time.
Thank you for the review! There is a little bit of Rose oxide with metallic property in T-Rex and that contributes to the “blood accord”.
Victor Wong ah, that will be it! Sorry that I kept pronouncing Antonio’s surname wrong!
Does secretions magnifique have that?
The metallic note in T Rex is very subtle most people don’t detect it at all - but some do
@@MagicKetchupVideo does secretions magnifique have that? It has blood accord too
@@MagicKetchupVideo what I mean is, in the same way amber is made from a generally accepted group of of notes, is the blood accord?

Karina B thanks! It’s awesome stuff. Very theatrical.
Great work again guys. Have only tried hummingbird from zoologist but i loved it. Probably time to order the rest of the samples.
the1big1matt it’s a fantastic house, incredibly well made fragrances with great concepts, but defiantly sample before you buy. We also reviewed Hyrax

Tim Wilcox they are both very complex, multi-faceted scents. MEM is possibly by favourite purchase of the year.

A little late to the party here and don’t laugh but, with Gallivant Tokyo I get a celery note from the opening!
Got a 2ml sample. Love this perfume but can't afford full bottle. Is there a clone alternative?
I'm going to look into these samples $4, I have a local place called indigo perfumery that list both these, thank you.
I am very excited for my T-Rex sample to arrive but Tokyo sounds really interesting. Will be adding it to my sample list.
That was really informative and entertaining. Thank you for the elevated conversation.
John Burke our pleasure

Thanks, another great video guys. Was that a Luminor we occasionally got a flash of?
Arthur Scargill thanks! No, it’s T W Steel.
As I watch this I have a sample of T Rex on one arm and Maai on the other. Similar classy vibes from both with I think the rose relating these two.
very interested in Tokyo. Thanks for the vid
What about Customs Duties from Canada?
Will be ordering a sample of T-Rex soon.
Performance Perfumery?
Or perhaps it should be, literally, Niche: a wild habitat or a funky cosmopolitan miasma.
Is it just me or does T-Rex with it's smokey/Juniper/floral accords come across as being By the Fire Place's bigger meaner brother?
Jamie Brady I’ve not tried it.
Not Antioni Gardoni,, but Antonio Gardoni :)
Gediminas Kontrimas I said Gardino about 5 times! Oops

Is this your home? It looks like a cathedral. How wonderful.
It’s a church!
Why do I get a Roja Fetish vibe????
I love the background is that a Catholic church?
Alberto Arzagoitia not catholic, but yes, a church
What church is that, by the way?
Sebastian en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Vedast_Foster_Lane
30 minutes???????
This is one of our shorter videos!
A sample? Are you serious?
Er, yes
