I'm about to upgrade, again, this time to a double din touch screen Panasonic dmh-1500nex. You showed the things I wanted to see, what to cut for the extra room and that a large double din will fit. Along with a camera, I'll be good to go. Thanks for the video.
lol glad I do my own work. You always take it to shops and they break something and don’t replace it and you don’t know about it till you have to replace something or when something moves that shouldn’t.
I have a question? I see a lot of people speak about needing to splice into the pink wire that provides power to the amp that powers the tweeters, other wise they will not get any sound. I didn't see you install a crossover module, or need to splice any wires. Did the wiring harness you installed power the amp?
How did you attach the center black trim to the dash? Don't remember seeing you do that. Pretty much mine is broke because I tried to get creative and I mounted an a cb radio where the radio goes and mount a media player radio where the storage area is and used a single din radio kit to mount the cb and a single din kit down at the bottom for the radio but the radio kit I riveted to the dash trim and over time it cracked and is broke. Figured the old one is brittle from age. Going to try to get this kit and 3D print a double din mount that uses the factory screws but make it like the single din mount if that makes sense. I used one of the new cobra radios and it looks really good.
Its been a while since I've done one of these but I'm pretty sure if you drill out the "plastic welds" with the right size bit then it will just snap in
Can you please provide the link for the radio and dash kit? Having a tremendous amount of double buying a radio and dash kit that are compatible. All advertise they are, none have been so far.
How do u fix gaps I did my 04 dodge ram 1500 I installed dvd/cd player in mine double din it's a pioneer I have a small gap on the right side of the radio
I went with a Sony 5600 for head unit and Infinity reference speakers in all positions. The Sony is a single DIN body with a double DIN face. So no mid section dash trimming required. Slid right in.
Great work man...I have a jesen vm9314 I have a issue I have a wire thats coming out the radio says bluetooth but I don't know were to wire it to?.I can't pair up .
You may not have the power and ignition wires wired correctly. There should be a red wire and yellow wire for your powers. One is for constant power and one is for ignition. Make sure those are correct. If they are, then you may have the wrong harness
Go on Crutchfield and put in your truck info. Then find the radio you have or one of similar size (Single DIN or Double DIN). Click "See the installation gear you need" and it'll bring up any harness or dash kits you'll need
You have to physically push the power button when you first boot it up or if you disconnect the battery. But once you do that it will turn on with the key

Smokin Metal CarFun sliding into building with support on the channel.💯💯. Getting ready to do the same install on my 2002 dodge ram 1500.

I’m assuming it did because all the speakers worked
on the old one it has a “time” button so when removing it you hit the time and it told you what time it was😂
12:00 I’m dying to know what song that is playing😂
I believe it's "Are you Gonna Kiss me or Not" by Thompson Square
What sized screen will this mod fit? Or in other words, how big would be too big?
I would assume anything that’s double din will fit

Go to crutchfield.com and put in your vehicle information and it'll tell you everything that you need and what is compatible

You’ll just have to try to adjust the screws on the dash kit. It’ll take a few tries to get right
What would be a good deck to put in my 2004 ram. What is largest size can get in there?
Anything that is single or double din should fit

Good choice. Sony head units are some of the best

Hmm... Thats odd. I have never seen that before
what interface module did you use, didn't see one in your vid?
It wasn't needed for a basic install. If you want to retain steering wheel control, then you will need one.
Having ingtion wire issues with this head unit it won’t turn off when I pull key any ideas?

Where do I get the double din bezel? Any part number or brand name to order one?

I got a 2004 dodge ram 1500 is instalation the same to it on that yr an type cuting it out too and puting it bk in im in california idk where ur at
Should be exactly the same. I’m in Tennessee
Do the buttons on the steering wheel still work after doing this
This particular truck did not have steering wheel controls
Did u found out why it wouldnt turn on by itself when u turn the key ?
You have to physically push the power button when you first boot it up or if you disconnect the battery. But once you do that it will turn on with the key
I'm not getting in sound
Where did you get the dash kit from ?
Crutchfield
weird, i didnt have to cut anything what so ever to mount my 2din
Depends what year you have. Older ones you have to cut
@@ArdenAutomotive mines a 2005
Anyone who owns a Ram will know to go easy with their cheap plastic parts hopefully. !!!!
Damn , I wish you were nearby. Id pay for you to help me haha
Wish I was too. I'm in Knoxville, TN
@@ArdenAutomotive question. Can the install be even easier if I buy a stereo that has the same dimensions as the stock radio ?
@atlrobs8163 yes. Single din radios are a pretty simple install on those trucks. No cutting or anything
Where did you get the double din bezel kit
Crutchfield
Where do you get mounting brackets?
