I'm new to snowrunner and new to your channel, I just recently 100% Michigan and have been working on Alaska. I know in a lot of your videos you're concerned about how long your videos are, but personally I really like the detail and extra information. There's a ton about this game that isn't explained very well and it's awesome being able to get additional tips and techniques. I feel like there's too much nuance to this game to just throw out blanket statements.
Well put. I agree. Been on the snowrunner / Nathan train since the switch sale leading up to Halloween. The route runner series is excellent for planning your missions, and getting to better understand the maps.
I appreciate those kind words! I’m really glad the channel has been a help to you :)
Check out him live on twitch... Much fun much knowledge
@@NProvinceMaine won't even let me enter my stored trucks I'm stuck in the garage
Amur almost changed how I played snowrunner, I went from a garage of mostly north American trucks, to mostly Russian. I know it's possible to use north American trucks on it, but I did not have the patience to do it. Only the Russians would build a rocket launch site in snowiest, muddiest, iciest part of nowhere lol.
It really is quite the struggle. As I always say, just take the gloves off for Amur and make your life manageable in some sense
I think northern aegis installation should’ve been in it’s own category, the difficulty of this map alone is INSANE. It’s like so dry and dead and empty, i remember when amur first released i played the map and tried to “scout” this shit hole with chevy ck1500. Closest thing i’ve ever got to cry in this game
It probably should have its own category tbh
Another outstanding video, Nate. You are the GOAT!
Thanks Rob! You’re too kind
Great video Nathan. I think you make a great point that a lot of people forget that It’s hard to judge the difficulty if you using really strong trucks especially mod trucks. If the maps get progressively harder along with the trucks they don’t feel as hard because you have better trucks. But if you do the harder map with the same trucks say mid tier or lower then you notice it.
Thanks JJ! I definitely think difficultly is a subjective and hard thing to judge. Tier Lists are tough videos. Glad you agree with the notion of truck usage perspective. Stay Upright my friend!
100% dude. I've learned in my first playthrough using trucks you gain along the way vs other playthroughs of using only trucks I like vs set themed trucks to all have very different "difficulty" sets. The 'trucks as you go' wasn't that hard, as you stated, each new truck keeps the difficulty relatively the same per region. Now, only using a certain set of trucks posed alot more challenges...and fun. Even using the right mod trucks that improve vanilla, but still feel very vanilla. Course, knowing how to properly set them up right is big too. Personally, I think having set truck fleets is the best way to really challenge your game.
Awesome teir list Nate very close to how mine would be. Good old lake Kovd....It's a map that I hated at first but now I love going on the icy routes. haha Take care and god bless!
Hey Brody! Thank you! Oh ya Kovd can be rough especially if you get yourself caught in those areas. God Bless you as well brother
Great video. As someone who like to use some B/C tier trucks, i mostly do agree with this tier list. Good thing to know that i'm not the only one who doesn't like carry around the scout prototype exploration unit.
Once again, another great list
Thank you!
Great content dude.
Appreciate it! Thank you!
Love this content. My only thing is i funny have all the map names memorized separately from they region. But that's on me. Great vid and well fine as usual! ❤
Thank you! I definitely have them memorized, but forgive me if I misspoke or botched some. 50 minutes talking is not a strong suit of mine
Your vids are the best bro keep up the great work and God bless
I appreciate that, thank you!
Just to let you know you have made me a better player at snowrunner bro.😊😮
That is one of the best comments ever, thank you! So glad I could be of help
Hey Nathan ! I really like your videos !
Can you do a video on the best order to play the regions (the seasons) ?
Yep, I would actually just play the seasons as they have come out after beating the base game. I’ve never jumped ahead to a region to get a truck or play out of order. From what I’ve come to understand is there is a natural progression to the game up until about Maine (Season 6). Even after that I would just continue to play chronological. A lot of folks believe otherwise and that’s ok, but it’s been reall great for me
Great list, i agree with it 100%
Hey thank you!
I've always wanted a hardest maps list. Took 4 years. Thanks, Nate!
4 years? This is the 3rd one I’ve done lol 😂
@@NProvince.... thinking about it..I've probably commented on those other vids too 🤣. And that wasn't a back handed comment, I just always thought this was a good topic, thanks again bruv
Always welcome my man!
Woah, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you, yah I can tell you go to the gym. Glad your taking care of yourself while still being a hard core streamer😂 anyways just checking up on the Chanel, I don’t play snowrunner to much anymore but I still like to watch your videos, thanks for all the hard work you do and all the knowledge you’ve given me on snowrunner👍
Hey thank you! I appreciate that. Dont go to the gym much anymore due to some injuries, but try to eat really well
The interesting thing of burned forest is I just used the water tower in Albany next to the tunnel for everything and used a high range uad international to go on the main road for 90% of the water route and then used the derry to get through the mud at the mission spots.
That’s a good way to do it
I’m new to the game. Still working through Michigan. Looking forward to this video
That’s awesome! Keep up the good work on Michigan and enjoy it. Thats one of my fav maps :)
Well done Sir 🐝
Thank you!
I use less popular trucks on very difficult maps, I use the P512 on Yukon, and the only time I have an issue is trying to deliver logs to the sawmill
Dude, great tier list. I mostly agree; albeit I'd put Yukon and Kovd on the 'no thanks' list 😂 I hate those maps.
Hey, I'm debating on getting S.12. Is it really worth it, or its just kinda meh and wait til the next season? I already know both trucks are useless and would only be for selling. So just interested in the map itself. Where would you rank it compared to the other Year 3 regions?
Hey thank you! I think it was a good region (Season 13). It’s definitely not hard, more of a map that play out differently than normal
I'm currently in Yukon and im going to skip both Amur and Kola, i just cant take snow anymore for awhile ❄️
Glad to see basically all the following maps are easy'r, i just want to drive cargo and not to strugle with the terrain! 😂
I can’t use strong trucks on the newer maps because of how much easier they are compared to older maps. When revisiting Yukon it felt great to have an excuse to use the stronger trucks alongside the usual fleets.
It definitely feels good to use strong trucks in tough spots :)
LET'S GOOO :D
What's better than this to watch at break while completing Alaska x)
fun fact I'm at 69% and I'm gonna start at White Valley after delivering the big coil trailer from Pedro Bay
Nice keep up the good work!
When you have kids and a life it's hard to find time to play SR. So I have used many overpowered Mods on a normal playthrough because honestly i don't have the time. Yet on newer maps I honestly try the trucks I never used before. Especially the Ford CLK 9000 and the Transtar, it's hard but fun. Granted I hey basically nothing done in the 20 or 30 minutes I get to sit down but it feels different.
I also saw that the PS5 shows hours played and I have 924 but I believe it's because everytime I start playing my wife walks in, I either hit pause or don't and come back the next day to find I'm out of gas.
That’s totally understandable, I’ve talked a lot about this on stream. Most folks just don’t have the time to play SR as long as it is. By the time the game is done and over with it’s going to be a 1500 hr game. Not many folks have the time for that. I do think it is getting to be a lil much in content, especially for folks that can’t sink multiple hours a day into it. This is why I don’t fault people for playing mods or OP trucks to get through the content because; it is a lot especially now that it’s gonna be a year 4 pass
Great list !
I would rank Lake Kovid as a moderate map myself. Imandra is not that very hard either. ( I played them when they first came out. No mods ever)
Urska River and NAI are hell maps :) 😓
Flooded foothills was a total disaster for me and the only map I used mods on, but I really enjoyed the 2nd map and it also gave me the chance to use the Transtar.
Glad you enjoyed some of it :)
I hate these style vids with the tiers. I get it. But unfortunately, I work 50 hours a week and want the info fast and a classic list is King. Thanks for making this video though. I've always wondered how people looked at the maps' difficulty
Going from the brutally difficult imandra to the brutally tedious flooded foothills actually made me quit the game for a year back when those seasons originally came out
Those two maps definitely are hard for sure
Finally finishing the missing path for the routerunner series
Now just to do them for the rest of the maps lmao
Oh lol the undertaking of that would be the death of me
@nprovince the comment about a "shortcuts" series didn't sound bad, maybe spmething along the lines of you talking about a hard to reach location and explain some of the best ways to get there
5 minute video
Dont necessarily need to do the whole map, just locations people are having issues with
Best way to see if a region is easy or hard is to start a new hardmode game and immediatly move your chevy ck1500 to that region and have that region be your starting region, that way it is very obvious how easy or hard a region is, especially in comparison to michigan. Because I can tell you Duncan Bay is extremely hard.
I’ve done something of those sort actually, but using a small scout to judge difficulty is well.. interesting because most scouts struggle in a lot of maps. With the addition of the JAT tires this is lessened, but the game really isn’t set up for scouts I feel
I get you. Yet chevy can handle michigan, alaska, glades, scandanavia, ontario and the likes. What I meant was: can the chevy unlock the region, like in michigan you unlock the fleetstar and gmc and scout800 and youre off, like in ontario the chevy can easily unlock the cat telehandler and then you can go unlock the ANK, in scandanavia the stock chevy can even get to the Burlak and you have scandanavia in the bag, in alaska the chevy can get to the ANK and its easy from then on. But a map like duncan bay, chevy dont do anything, try unlocking the kenworth or opening up the gateway to the next map, thats what I mean. Im not talking about just using the chevy, Im talking about giving each region the same treatment as michigan: which is having a chevy and thats it, how does a player get through a region and is it then easy or hard. I do agree with most of your list, but it really depends on how you view the question, and seeing as you mentioned playing in chronological order, that makes michigan harder than it is, or the other way around it makes the other regions easier than they are because now you factor in trucks from previous regions. i dunno, if given an equal start, some maps are almost impossible. sorry for the wall of text ;)
It really is all about the trucks you use
I do believe it plays a part in perception, but that’s just my small humble opinion
Hey nathan are gonna you start streaming on you tube?
Ya know I’m not sure. I currently stream on twitch which is also free to watch and I highly recommend watching there for now
I would switch the maps around a little bit, but in my opinion Maine was perfectly balanced in terms of difficulty
Maine is pretty well balanced
I'm kinda new in snowrunner and I've completed all 3 base game regions and now I've started Kola Peninsula and I've got pretty much everything done in Lake Kovd and I went to Imandra to scout the place and I'm kinda stuck cuz of the lack of infrastructure and all the rocks and bad roads does anyone got any tips or tricks to help me out with Imandra
Edit: Personally I feel like Imandra is a little overkill and don't get me wrong I'm all up for a challenge it's why I play this game but I feel like Imandra is a bit geared towards scouts too much cuz of the routes and the narrow paths in the mud, the roads that are there are just all icy and don't get me started on all the rocks on the roads too, all that could be negated if the garage was available to begin with cuz it's in a decent area but you gotta do 2 tasks to even unlock the garage.
Wait a minute did you rename your channel recently? 🤔
I did to match my stream name :)
If anybody knows that play Snow's runner Senate developers a message this is where you pause the game you go do something you come back and you can still play your game and I have to start all over
Super keen for an expansion of the Route Runner series.
I'd really love to do it, but it probbaly is an extreme undertaking timewise. Im glad you enjoyed those
Now YellowRock National Forest is in right spot.
Glad you think so
Kola and Amur is just annoying to play rather than hard tbh. most of the time the devs just add some random deep snow on the road just to mess with you like the deep snow at abandoned town and destroyed road near the airfield in Kola. it feels like dev have no idea how to mix up terrain in season 1 and just toss some random event and see if it fits
Nathan, you really need to pull up the region map every time and point at stuff youre talking about. Most people cant just recall every map of snowrunner in their mind if you just mention its name.
Linked in the description and/or the pinned comment on this video will show prior tier lists where I’ve pulled up most maps. this list was made to be shorter on my takes rather than a review of the maps. I have also made map guides for all the Year 1 maps as well. I didn’t wanna make the video too long by talking about every single map in detail
Screw it...I'm starting up Amur tomorrow. Why not... I'm glutton for pain. Russian 8x8s cause why not, i guess.
There ya go. Just do it! :)
My all-time favorite region is BRITISH COLUMBIA
I think that’s mine as well <
(DLC map)
Northern Aegis Installation is definitely the hardest map in the game and i find imandra and urska river not that super hard
This is how my tier list would go if I did it like yours Michigan Alaska in moderate Easy Taymyr moderate Kola very hard Yukon hard Wisconsin moderate Amur very hard Don moderate east Maine very hard Tennessee easy Glades easy Ontario hard British Columbia moderate Scandinavia moderate and North Carolina moderate Easy
Everything in Snowrunner is harder on Switch.
The amur maps just aren't possible with vanilla trucks. Absolutely need mod trucks to beat it.
It would seem so, but trust me they can be done. I’ve completed them
Twice with no mods. There is actually a zero to 100% playthrough on hardmode on the channel as well. That playthrough was completed in 75 hrs. After you understand a few things it becomes enjoyable:)
damn, i do not agree with like most of these placements. what is main game doing in easy/mod easy? why is anything from s12 (except map 1 ig) ended up in anything rather than easy let alone moderate? how is yukon/maine's maps comparable to amur's?
i know you like to switch up trucks when you play the game but by doing so you're changing the perception of how hard the game actually is by making it harder. to properly rate the difficulty you almost need to play the maps with a small consistent selection of trucks to then be able to fairly compare how hard the experience was to other regions on those same trucks.
anyway that's just my rant about the game i supposedly don't care about anymore so whatever. agree to disagree ig.
I tried to start maine but it wouldn't even let me load my truck storage list
