Hi Elly! I made my first batch of Pine Tar soap yesterday and wonder why it took me so long to get around to it. It all went exactly as you said and only took about 2-3 minutes to trace just by stirring it with a big spoon! I lined my mould for the first time using your method from another video and it made turning out the soap so much easier! I quite like the smell of it too. Can't wait to try it out. Thank you.

I used Shea and mango butters (50/50) instead of cocoa butter, because I didn’t have any! Ran it all through soap calc. All good! Atlas cedar wood 15g with a few drops of 5x orange essential oils, all in a nice long Kmart bamboo mold. Smells really great! This one is for my own blokey bloke use ! Thanks again and .. Cheers mike.
I know this is a 3 year old video, but I'm going to be making this for a friend who has psoriasis. I think (super sleuth here), the white marks are from your knife. They're in the same spot and seem to be where you "disconnect" the knife from the soap. Just a thought. Gorgeous soap. Goes from dark chocolate to milk chocolate overnight. Can't wait to make this. Thanks for the recipe Elly. X

Thank YOU sweetest Elly. To my surprise, my boyfriend just told me he used to buy pine tar soaps for his sensitive skin. I’m making it this afternoon. So exciting. Again, thank you so much. Your recipes are so good. I made a few of them. Many soap teachers here on UA-cam ‘forget’ to mention ‘little details’ on their video. Not sure if accidentally or purposely. Not you. Hi from Bundaberg. My hubby and I love pine tar smell too! I'm just starting on my soaping journey and am so excited about trying this soap. I have several skin conditions and use coal tar products currently. I'm hoping this will work out to be an effective alternative for me.
I was looking for a good pine tar recipe but wasn’t to sure on working with it. Thanks for showing this. I also wanted to work more with beeswax. Hope your well!
Hi Elly ! Happy New Year 🥳 just wanted to pop by and let you know that I’ve made this gorgeous Pine tar soap a few times now and it’s now my Dads very favourite ! He is forever asking me if I have some more 💙 and I’ve just made another batch today ! So THANK YOU so much ! 🤗🙏🤗
Beautiful the way you explain things in a great manner i learned everything about soap from your channel it was really different and im inspiring by your videos mam😍
I’m still on the very beginning of this learning process and I have already watched many videos. Your videos are really good because you provide technical information as well. It helps a lot. Greetings from Brazil.
Good morning, Elly!😁😁😁 It feels SO GOOD, seeing your sunny smile and hearing your cheerful voice, first thing in the morning, what a refreshing combination to greet me early of a day! 😍😍😁😁 Your soaps are BEAUTIFUL👍👍👏👏👏❤❤❤
I just made some pine tar soap yesterday! I did a batch of CP and HP. Making pine tar soap with HP is nice since you don’t have to worry about acceleration, a lot less stressful lol! I did three shades in my CP and I got so close to my last shade not going into the mold🤫 I just added a little bit of cedar EO, but now I have to try some tea tree too! It’s so interesting how people are with scents, I’ve had some people say they absolutely hate lemongrass and others say they absolutely love it, it’s funny 😆 Thanks for the video!
I've noticed several have had trouble finding the Sweden pine tar. Sage Restoration from Ontario, Canada, sells the Special Kiln Burned Pine Tar, for soapmaking and human use. I live in the US and and had to pay $18.83 for UPS standard shipping, with no tax. The 3 litre was $56. Hope this helps anyone wanting to make Elly's pine tar soap.
Saludos.
I didn't know that pine tar is good for some skin conditions. This is great information for me. I have psoriasis and straggle on my face and scalp right now. so itchy. also dry skin. I need to put some lotion even in the summer. I would definitely try to make this soap. Thank you so much Elly for this video and recipe!
You're welcome Yoko! I'm not a dermatologist, so make sure you seek medical advice, but this is what I've heard can help. It may not help everyone though :)
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking I am going to see my Dermatologist this month. Will make sure to ask. Thanks again :) I made Castile and Aloe vela soap the other day from your recipes. The aroma from Aloe Vera soap is amazing! Can't wait to use them. I think my husband will love Aloe Vera soap.
Hi Elly, I'm sorry if you mentioned this & I missed it, but could you please tell me the purpose each of the cocoa butter & beeswax are intended to serve in this soap? I would love to see a detailed table of potential soap ingredients (substances acting purely as fragrances or colorants aside), their purpose in the soap-making process (how they are intended to alter the batter or final product), the pros & cons of using each of them, potential complications of using them, & any special things one must keep in mind when adding that particular ingredient to your batter/soap. I'd also like to see a detailed table on each type of oil generally used in soap-making, including what properties it brings to the final product, & why you might choose to make one of them 10% of the batter (for example), or another 50% perhaps. If there is a reference out there like this that I can already find online, of which you are aware, I would so appreciate a link to that info if you have it! Thanks so much for any additional info you can provide, & for this & all your videos! God bless!😇 [7.7.2024]
@@EllysEverydaySoapMaking WOW! Talk about getting EVERYTHING I asked for...& it had already been completed... TY so much! I actually found that video of yours yesterday & was taken aback by all that incredible work you'd done! When I find a bit of time, I want to re-watch it a few times & takes notes. All through school I always needed to put notes like this in table form, so that I could have a visual that easily allows me to compare... I just take in info more easily that way! If I ever get it done, I'll be happy to share it back if you like. Thank you again, SO MUCH! I really admire your attention to detail & the caring you show for those who have an interest in a topic about which you are so passionate. I never had an interest in soap-making before & only started looking at the subject a couple days ago b/c I am dealing with trying to clear up a poison ivy situation in my yard here in Pennsylvania, USA, & I was trying to understand how soaps work, so I could find the most effective yet gentle thing to wash off my skin, should I accidentally come into contact with the urushiol oil from a poison ivy plant, in order to prevent the terrible rash it causes! Clearly I have gone down a Rabbit hole in my search, but while down that hole, I find I am now very interested in the soap-making process, & finding YOU was a gift! God is funny sometimes, & you never know what He might want to show you today! God bless, Elly!😇 [7.9.2024]

Hi from Bundaberg. My hubby and I love pine tar smell too! I'm just starting on my soaping journey and am so excited about trying this soap. I have several skin conditions and use coal tar products currently. I'm hoping this will work out to be an effective alternative for me.
Oh I hope so too Natasha! Greetings from Brissy :)
I was looking for a good pine tar recipe but wasn’t to sure on working with it. Thanks for showing this. I also wanted to work more with beeswax. Hope your well!

I've never heard of pine tar soap, but it sounds interesting enough that I think I'll give it a try.
It's very interesting indeed! I have grown to really love it.
Beautiful the way you explain things in a great manner i learned everything about soap from your channel it was really different and im inspiring by your videos mam😍
Nice video ! One question: What should be the temperature of water lye solution when adding to oil mixture?
I love how quick this is too make and it looks so beautiful with that shine.
Thanks Keeley, it's seriously good soap. So fun and easy to make too.
Hi there, your videos are, by far, the best ones.
Thank you so much :)
I’m still on the very beginning of this learning process and I have already watched many videos. Your videos are really good because you provide technical information as well. It helps a lot. Greetings from Brazil.
Wow🥰will love to try some
Good morning, Elly!😁😁😁 It feels SO GOOD, seeing your sunny smile and hearing your cheerful voice, first thing in the morning, what a refreshing combination to greet me early of a day! 😍😍😁😁 Your soaps are BEAUTIFUL👍👍👏👏👏❤❤❤
Thank you May!
Great video Elly. Never thought to use pine tar in soap but will give it a go especially if its got some skin benefits. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Rachel :)
I just made some pine tar soap yesterday! I did a batch of CP and HP. Making pine tar soap with HP is nice since you don’t have to worry about acceleration, a lot less stressful lol!
I did three shades in my CP and I got so close to my last shade not going into the mold🤫
I just added a little bit of cedar EO, but now I have to try some tea tree too!
It’s so interesting how people are with scents, I’ve had some people say they absolutely hate lemongrass and others say they absolutely love it, it’s funny 😆
Thanks for the video!
They sound wonderful! I'd love to make this HP style one day. Would be great. I know what you mean about people and scents :)
Hope this helps anyone wanting to make Elly's pine tar soap.
such an awesome looking soap.Subbing the ice for frozen goats milk??? is this possible or will it mess with the total fat ratio %?
Thank you, yes, that would work well! It would give it a nice little extra superfat :)
Thanks for sharing .Nice soap
Thank you, you're welcome Joan :)
Thank you for this tutorial
What an easy recipe. One to try later when I find all the ingredients
It's a great soap!
Saludos.
Looks great. I feel like it would be great for psoriasis as well
Thanks Robyn. Yes, I actually made this batch for one of my dad's friends who has psoriasis. He loves it!
Another great video!
Thanks again!
Hi Elly. Magnific.....❤❤❤. I love soap. Tkank you .........
Yay! Thanks Claudineia!
That is a beautiful bar of soap!! Just curious as to why you use beeswax in your soap recipe? What is the benefit of it in soap?
Pine tar can make a softer soap, so I used the beeswax to harden the bar slightly. Plus I had some I wanted to use up :)
I just made this with equal parts cedar, pine, eucalyptus, and bergamot EO’s. Smells delightful! Don’t know if I can wait 6 weeks.😳 Thanks very much.
Oh I know that feeling! Sounds really nice :)
Thank you again and again for these videos. When my pine tar arrives, I will be giving this a go. ❤️
Ah, thank you so much Barbara! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Have fun when your tar arrives!
You make it look so easy. Thanks great tutorial!
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much I made this yesterday. You’re not kidding about it setting up fast! Looks great!
That's great Thomas, well done! This has to be one of my all time favourite soaps. You'll love it.
Brings back memories of grandma's pine tar soap. So very nice Elly!
Ahh that's so nice. Thank you :)
God bless!😇

I've done that already here :) ua-cam.com/video/V-uDPifp3n0/v-deo.html
God bless, Elly!😇
