These videos are literally some of the most well done educational videos on the internet. Seriously, amazing! Equal parts entertaining and informative. I could watch these for days on end.
After watching your video, I picked up the Castle Panic Big Box with all 4 expansions plus the original game. So far, I’ve only played the Wizard’s Tower expansion, but it definitely elevated what I already thought was an awesome game! I also love that you can play solo, too. Thanks for another fun video.
A bit late, but just wanted to say this great video inspired me to get the junior version - My First Castle Panic- for my 4 year old son and we've had a blast - we have played in 10 times in 3 days! Looking foward to buying this version when we get a chance for a grown up board game night again - babysitter dependent of course :) Thanks
This is my favorite game and I'm so glad you're doing this video. And I love all the expansions… Except I haven't played with a very very very last lol.
In his standardized intro, from now on Rodney should follow his "so join me at the table and let's learn how to play" with a "buuuuuuuuu" as in his previous tutorial video on Mysterium Kids, it was so great
One of my favorites. Can’t wait to get the deluxe edition. It will be massive. By the way, Star Trek Panic is fun too. Shame they won’t be bringing it back.
This game looks great! One clarification I’d ask is if the swordsman or “any” swordsman can hit enemy monsters inside your castle walls, or if they just kill themselves off by destroying your towers with no other way of being slain. Otherwise I think you covered all the bases!
Thanks for checking out the video! Remember, the different fighters can only target enemies within their matching labelled rings. So the swordsman, for example, can only target enemies in the Swordsman ring, not the castle ring (or any other ring).
Hi Rodney. I love your tutorials. During play, a question came up. How does the draw 3 monster tokens effect from the Goblin king work? Do those tokens get added after all other tokens are played like the Draw 3 or Draw 4 monster token effects? Or do they each get resolved first?
I'm confused, does the game end when the last monster is pulled from the pile and added to the game board, or do we get to keep playing as long as we have a castle tower to defend?
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.

Been wanting to get this game for awhile and now seems like the time with this new edition. Love the artwork. Can't find it anywhere online though as of writing this. When does this edition release?
If we run out of player cards, they all end up in the discard pile before the game ends, do we shuffle them back into a new deck or is that another way for all players to lose?
can i ask about castle panic expansion engines of war ? "the catapult and ballista may be fired one time each on a player's turn".. does it means I can use both catapult and ballista on single turn by discarding 4 cards ? or do i only can use one of the engines each turn ?

I believe it's listed for 8 and up, but I'm a firm believer that a box can't really dictate that. It's going to depend on the player (I know 30 year olds that might struggle with a game that a 10 year might handle quite easily). Hopefully the video can give you a sense of the complexity for the person you might have in mind!

That's very kind of you to say - thanks for such a nice comment :)
I played this game with the kids for years, it was one of our favorites ❤
Same here!

No panic here! Rodney has this video covered!!

This is a game I really enjoyed paying with my son when he was younger, so I'm thrilled to know it was a hit for you too :)
Well, Rodney, another great overview. You truly are the best.
Just picked up a copy of the game, and ready to go. 👍
Have a great time playing Jaems!
Wow the update art makes the board so much clearer than the original (the one I have 😂) great video as always!
Yes, the board was an area they focused on for this new edition, to be sure.
Awesome video! Single best source of information about how to play games on the internet. Well Done!
Very kind of you to say!
This is my favorite game and I'm so glad you're doing this video.

I'm looking forward to giving the expansions a spin!
Love to see a fun one brought back to life!
Me too :)
I played with my big brother, and your tutorial helped so much, we almost won
I hope you both had fun - good luck on your next attempt!
A great summary, as usual. Looking forward to a first game!
Have a great time playing!

Do the roar!!!! You can really get into character on this one!!
I have a question. Was the shirt choice intentional as it looked like the same colour palette? 😅
Are you suggesting I have so many plaid shirts that I can match them to the box covers?!?!
(yes, the answer is yes)
One of my favorites. Can’t wait to get the deluxe edition. It will be massive. By the way, Star Trek Panic is fun too. Shame they won’t be bringing it back.
I backed a copy of the deluxe too!
Star Trek? That sounds super cool!!!!
Looked fairly simple, but as the explanation went on I see how that doesn’t matter, the game looks fun and exciting without being too complicatedZ
Glad you enjoyed what you saw!

Another great tutorial. Thank you for all the hard work. My kids and I love the videos.
So glad you're all enjoying - greetings to the whole gang!
This is a great co-op game!
Played this a lot with the kids, and very excited to see it get this refresh!
Perfect video, as always. :)
Very kind of you to say - glad you enjoyed!

If memory serves, those 3 with the Goblin King get drawn right away.
@@WatchItPlayed Thank you. 😊
Very helpful. Thank you
Sure thing!
Great video! I have friends who really enjoy playing this one!!! :)
Great video, very well done
Thank you kindly!
Does boss monsters only have their abilities when they are starting on the board or they will have abilities every turn when they move?
I don't have the game nearby to double check their abilities, but unless indicated otherwise, their abilities last as long as they are in play.
This game looks good.
Thanks for checking out the video Daniel!

Thanks for checking it out Henri!
Rodney, biggest differences between 1st and 2nd edition?

New edition looks cool
Thanks for checking it out - I was glad to see this game get some new love!
Been wanting to get this game for awhile and now seems like the time with this new edition. Love the artwork.
Can't find it anywhere online though as of writing this.
When does this edition release?
Very soon, as I understand it (like, any day/week now).
@@WatchItPlayed Fantastic! I'll keep my eye out then :) Thank you!
Think I'll have to get this!
Glad you enjoyed what you saw!
If we run out of player cards, they all end up in the discard pile before the game ends, do we shuffle them back into a new deck or is that another way for all players to lose?
When the deck of Castle cards runs out, reshuffle the discards to make a new deck, and continue drawing as needed.

Sorry, don't have that expansion - you might want to check with BoardGameGeek for that?
I'm not from the USA, an recently got the old version (it didn't arrive yet). Besides the artwork, is there rules/itens new on this edition?

This looks fun 😁
Luke and I enjoyed playing this new edition together, brought back some memories!
Thanks!
You're very welcome!
How come we NEVER win this game??? We feel depressed and can’t even win when we cheat. Help us! We feel so sad!! 😢
Don't give up! You'll win eventually, and when you do, you'll feel good about it (but don't cheat!)
Oh no! I guess cheat by trading extra cards, that's what we did. haha
What age range is this for?
