I was sitting here wondering what a magical Batmobile had to do with space ships but had given it up as a reference I just simply missed. Then I wander down here and see you capitalize one word and misspelled the other and suddenly it all makes sense. And is very funny. So thank you twice. ^_^
Thank you tabletop for showing fun games! It was this show that really introduced me to modern board gaming. Loved this episode. Not only do I love the game (and all of the Tiny Epic series of games), but the banter and Trek references were awesome. Love, love, love Mayim and totally identified with her when she went about centering and straightening the cards.

I'm actually really appreciating Mayim being so obsessive about describing what she's doing. Being OCD about the cards, on the other hand, is just funny.
have to agree with the comments here: one of the best/most funny episodes in all my years watching; excellent guests and a great spirit around the table!
Broken Age was kickstarted as an old school adventure game. What we got was an adventure-lite game designed for 5 year old kids that lasts no more than 2 hours, more fitting for tablets than PC. All due to Schafer incompetence and running out of money half-way through development. They even had to release the game in parts. They later created a game called Spacebase DF-9 that was abandoned in alpha state, without any decent explanation.
Joined a local game group tonight, and someone whipped this out. Have never played it, but watched this video when it came out. Was able to snag the victory thanks to it!
Actually really liked the crew for this, wasn't massively sold on the game, but some great laughs. Mayim is adorable and is it me or is Andy Weir rocking some major biceps?! Great work all!
Tim Schafer doesn't get a call out on the video title. Tim-fucking-Schafer. The guy that is beloved by games for making amazing experiences. For shame!

You should try to get Felicia Day and Mayim Bialik on the same episode. Is there a game that involves having a large unruly pile of cards in the middle of the table? :)
loving Wil's shirt. I have the feeling that some future civilization would find our lore and be like Data and Troi trying to figure out "Darmok and Jalad, at Tanagra"
I believe his reservation was on the old 'porn couch'. Also, I can remember him winning once solo off-hand but let's see. Co-op wins: Mice & Mystics Legendary Concept Castle Panic Elder Sign Solo wins: Betrayal At House On The HIll Sushi Go / Roll for It Love Letter / Coup (Tied with Benny Fine) Libertalia Five Tribes Pairs (Tied with Boyan Radakovich and Nick Carmichael) Lords of Vegas Fortune and Glory Shadows Over Camelot Gloom (Tied with Amber Benson and Meghan Camarena) Star Fluxx Huh. Looking at it like this dimnishes the Wheaton curse somewhat.
I just did a quick count of the episodes. Ignoring cooperative team wins/losses and story-based games like Dread and Fiasco (which you can't really "win" in my opinion), Wil has a wins to games played ratio of 11/42 -- or just a tiny bit better than 1 in 4, which is completely average considering there's almost always 4 players. So, while I have seen the Wheaton dice curse in action on Critical Role, I don't think his "I always lose on TableTop" thing represents an objective truth, even if it might feel that way to Wil.
He has turned it into a running joke, sure. However, it's no secret that Wil suffers from generalized anxiety disorder and chronic depression. I'm pretty sure it feels to him like he is losing more often than he should statistically.
Episode was recorded before that, I suppose? It may only be showing on youtube now, but wasn't this available in that subscription service (alpha, I think?) since last year, which means they likely started recording earlier still?
Nah, he was in Dark Matter before that whole Alpha shebang started with TableTop. Furthermore, he was also in Eureka, where his character was in a simulation in space -- He was pretending to be someone pretending to be in space. Either way - not to say his perception is objective, but he may not have treated Eureka or Dark Matter with importance - thereby forgetting the "small" shows.
Wil Wheaton is one of my favorite people in the world. Not actor, person. I do not know him personally and never got to meet him (despite us both being at blizzcon 2015), but I get the impression that a person's life is better with him as a friend. That's rare in this world and every time you find someone like that, cling to that friendship fiercely. /endsappycomment

loving Wil's shirt.
I have the feeling that some future civilization would find our lore and be like Data and Troi trying to figure out "Darmok and Jalad, at Tanagra"
Tim! make Brutal Legend 2 please! love you man
I'll acknowledge it. Best ep of TableTop in a very long while. Solid work, guys.
Mayim Bialik! I love her!
IM SO HAPPY IVE BEEN TRYING TO FIND OUT IF THIS SERIES IS STILL GOING
Out of all the episodes, how many times has Wil won? Also, shouldn't one of the cushions on the couch say "Reserved for Wil Wheaton"....
I believe his reservation was on the old 'porn couch'.
Also, I can remember him winning once solo off-hand but let's see.
Co-op wins:
Mice & Mystics
Legendary
Concept
Castle Panic
Elder Sign
Solo wins:
Betrayal At House On The HIll
Sushi Go / Roll for It
Love Letter / Coup (Tied with Benny Fine)
Libertalia
Five Tribes
Pairs (Tied with Boyan Radakovich and Nick Carmichael)
Lords of Vegas
Fortune and Glory
Shadows Over Camelot
Gloom (Tied with Amber Benson and Meghan Camarena)
Star Fluxx
Huh.
Boesvig he likely does it as a running joke, mostly unrelated to actual fact
Carcassone also
He has turned it into a running joke, sure. However, it's no secret that Wil suffers from generalized anxiety disorder and chronic depression. I'm pretty sure it feels to him like he is losing more often than he should statistically.
Tim Schafer is absolutely killing it in the commentary.
Wil Weaton: Last time you pretended to be in space. 1993 for me.
Uh.. Wil.. What about Dark Matter?
Episode was recorded before that, I suppose? It may only be showing on youtube now, but wasn't this available in that subscription service (alpha, I think?) since last year, which means they likely started recording earlier still?
Nah, he was in Dark Matter before that whole Alpha shebang started with TableTop. Furthermore, he was also in Eureka, where his character was in a simulation in space -- He was pretending to be someone pretending to be in space.
Either way - not to say his perception is objective, but he may not have treated Eureka or Dark Matter with importance - thereby forgetting the "small" shows.

This definitely made my day. The sun was out, the work day was short, and a new Tabletop is on!!
I love that Mayim needed to have the cards centered. It would have bugged me too.
Thanks for all the work that goes into making these happen!
Millenium Falcon necklace... ;)

Thanks thenextjobs!!!
Not much of a race though, I mean it i between two cargo vessels and a warship. The Enterprise should win hands down.
Love Tim Schafer, awesome to see him on tabletop
