Mercury was born Farrokh Bulsara in Stone Town in the British protectorate of Zanzibar (now part of Tanzania) on 5 September 1946.[3][4] His parents, Bomi (1908-2003) and Jer Bulsara (1922-2016),[a][5] were from the Parsi community of western India. The Bulsaras had origins in the city of Bulsar (now Valsad) in Gujarat.[b][3]
In my opinion I've seen some of the best bands ever I've seen Queen I still have my ticket stub and of course the best band of all Pink Floyd I've seen their concert twice. True! Coming of age in the 1980's (I was born in the early '70's), I obviously new they were talented, but have such much more appreciation for their amazing artistry now. Every SINGLE time I listen to Bohemian Rhapsody- and it's been countless- I still get goosebumps, it's that powerful!
LoL not at all the best in the world. Pavarotti is way better for example. He did have a powerful voice though & above all powerful charisma which excites every woman breed in a man however! 👍
I'd be honored if some Queen fans would take a quick listen to my acoustic piano & vocal YT performances of PRAYING FOR TIME by George Michael and PURPLE RAIN by Prince in tribute to 2 of the greatest vocalist-songwriters in music history who followed the trail that Freddie Mercury blazed. Live acoustic with no autotune. Peace and stay safe.
I don't think you should call him a hero when his wreckless sexual behaviour led to him dying of aids it's not nice but he chose that path it's not the best role model is it
no one knew of the disease at the time, everyone was pretty reckless back then. I would certainly say its better than all the artists that have died due to overdose. No one's perfect were all humans, what is the point of watching a once in a lifetime performance and just going to the comments to degrade the performer/legend. If he's inspired so may millions, I would say that constitutes him as a hero.@@strongbow310
I wasn’t lucky enough to find Freddie in my youth and now I’ve developed this awful tinnitus it’s ringing in my ears which means I can’t sleep at night and it was tormenting me until I discovered all of these videos by Queen and listening to Freddie helps calm my mind and takes my focus away from the awful noise to the beautiful noise
I've had tinnitus for years. It sucks. Now I can't stand loud places. One sound a little too loud and all I hear is ringing. I found a sweet spot to press on, it gives me the illusion that it makes it better and not ring my brains out. Try finding yours!
Try listening to dolphin sounds and white noise before sleep 🐬🐬 My doctor recommended that for tinnitus, also ginkgo biloba suplements and B12. It helped me a lot 🙌
I’m beginning to realize that latter half of the 20th century was the golden age of popular music, the like of which we may never experience again. I had always hoped another rock movement would break out but it’s just not happening. Sure, we can always listen to the old albums and reminisce. But the amount of talent, the number of brilliant songwriters, and the iconic performers (like Freddie) was on another level compared to today.
We live in age of political correctness where everybody is very careful not to offend a certain segment of the market. This is the opposite of what rock and roll was doing in those days.
@@maxxdhaliwal Could be but he wasn't diagnosed with it yet so even if he did get it before the live aid concert, het didn't know it yet and he didn't know he was going to die.
Something I loved about Queen's live performances, is that they never are the same to the official songs. They switch up the tempo, or tone. This is a true live performance. Because it's them live. It's not the original song played on big booming speakers with the singers and instrumentalists dancing to it, they're giving their all, live.
No matter how many people watched, this is probably the greatest rock performance ever in the existence of the genre. A lot of folk from that time take it for granted, but for me and my generation, this is all we have to be able to witness the greatness of Queen, and of Freddie. I would give a kidney to be able to have seen Queen live in those days.

@@rayana4941 💁🏾♀️ Well that’s all subjective thus in your opinion, 70’s rock music was the best era; to @Reid Kyrzyk ‘s opinion, 80’s music did it for them. Why not start your own comment thread sayin’ 70’s music was the greatest (tho you’d look rather silly to do when this Live Aid video was from the 80’s 😂).
In the 70's we had closed a upscale restaurant where I was working as a young teen and the owner came rushing down the stairs yelling as we were getting ready to split and said I need 1/2 of you to stay and clock back in! We all pissed and moaned. We opened back up and in no time the place was banging! We reopened for Queen and all their crew! It was amazing. Then the owner came back and said the group appreciates you all and said they would like to thank you. So we all went out and there they were. Brian and Roger were really the ones to greet us and talk. Brian was pretty tall and Roger had just a edge to him and very engaging. John was a bit away but said thank you to us. Freddie was way in the back in the center of one of those big corner 1/2 circle booths surrounded be people and and was very shy almost awkard but we could see him say Thank you all..The hot fing waitress who wore outfits that you can't wear today were in high gear hitting on them..lol The next day in HS I was a rock star..lol To reflect back that I cooked for Queen and personally met them is magical and will always be with me ...

i love how you can just look at anything in this video and it just oozes 80s. the stage, the crowd, even the old pepsi logo on the piano. the long wires, the microphone, the clothing even. there was no fancy background dancers, no over the top special effects. just the band, the crowd, and the music. definitely beats modern day music/concerts
I read that Freddie was at home in Garden Lodge watching Live Aid and then casually in the afternoon said oh its time now that i was heading there. He was So calm and matter of fact about it like it was any other day. Little did he know years later his performance would be voted the greatest ever in the history of Rock Music. I knew it had to be. RIP

Just watched the movie and I thought I’d take a peek at the Liveaid performance for real.

No one's perfect were all humans, what is the point of watching a once in a lifetime performance and just going to the comments to degrade the performer/legend.
Tbh i remember having really bad tinnitus when I was in middle school but now I just kinda got used to it, at this point I don’t even notice it
I've had tinnitus for years.
I had a cat named tilly
Why do they call him queen if his name was Freddie jus askn?
I’m beginning to realize that latter half of the 20th century was the golden age of popular music, the like of which we may never experience again. I had always hoped another rock movement would break out but it’s just not happening. Sure, we can always listen to the old albums and reminisce. But the amount of talent, the number of brilliant songwriters, and the iconic performers (like Freddie) was on another level compared to today.
True enough.. I grew up on Reggae and Hip Hop, I would love to see Rock/Soft Rock take the lead. Seriously.
We live in age of political correctness where everybody is very careful not to offend a certain segment of the market. This is the opposite of what rock and roll was doing in those days.

Something I loved about Queen's live performances, is that they never are the same to the official songs. They switch up the tempo, or tone. This is a true live performance. Because it's them live. It's not the original song played on big booming speakers with the singers and instrumentalists dancing to it, they're giving their all, live.

Saudade também do meu mano, hoje assistir ao filme, lembrei muito do meu maninho, a única certeza que tenho que estamos só de passagem nesta terra.

Welcome to the 80's everyone, no autotune, just raw talent
The 80s was fairly crap tbh, no offence, only a handful of artists were amazing. The 70s was when rock in particular was incredible and the music scene was filled raw talent.
Queen was phenomenal and their peak was the 70s.
@@rayana4941 💁🏾♀️ Well that’s all subjective thus in your opinion, 70’s rock music was the best era; to @Reid Kyrzyk ‘s opinion, 80’s music did it for them. Why not start your own comment thread sayin’ 70’s music was the greatest (tho you’d look rather silly to do when this Live Aid video was from the 80’s 😂).
autotune isnt always bad
The 80s was the peak of our civilization. You can check that in things like music or sports
Freddie was way in the back in the center of one of those big corner 1/2 circle booths surrounded be people and and was very shy almost awkard but we could see him say Thank you all..The hot fing waitress who wore outfits that you can't wear today were in high gear hitting on them..lol The next day in HS I was a rock star..lol To reflect back that I cooked for Queen and personally met them is magical and will always be with me
