Hey guys I hope everyone understands that building your MK7, 7.5, 8.0 GTI above 450HP (crank) is going to seriously reduce the longevity of the stock motor. From what I have read, the R actually has different internals that are a bit more robust. The car was built by you know professional corporate engineers, at stock 230-245HP at the crank, you know probably for a reason. Just saying. Blah, blah, blah. What you don't see a lot of on the internet is guys blowing their rods through the block. What do you expect without building the internals. The other thing that not many people talk about is you should really increase service intervals when you start adding bolt ons with a tune, as a little bit of protection.
Sneekytuned did my e48 and 93 maps on my is38 mk7. You literally won’t get better customer service IMO. The dude is always working and available for questions. He’s sent me revisions on Sunday nights, answered questions I’ve had about trouble shooting issues, and was insanely patient through all my fueling issues.. On E48 the car is a rocket, and reliable too. 158k on the odometer, with 35k on the turbo.
Respect for calling out Ed on his BS. He’s such a child. DMing you over tuner drama? Wow. They’re a great company no doubt. But how quickly Ed is to jump in the comments like an angry schoolgirl completely turns me away from ever wanting to spend a dime with them.

I was EQT tuned and switched to Sneekytune. EQT messed up on my tune when I called them out on it they made it seem like it's something I'm doing wrong until I removed there tune and got a Sneekytune and everything was fine. When I went back to them with the info, is when they admitted a mistake. I didn't want to deal with them after and ED came at me saying all I wanted to do was hate and slander his company and all the EQT fanboys jumped in behind him backing him up like a bunch of cheerleaders. It was funny for me to witness it. I can't mess with someone as sensitive as ED and the EQT community.
this whole 'mexico' street racing scene is absolute cringe and always has been... Everyone just pick a tuner you like to work with and results you like and be happy.

Funny to see the animosity between tuners.. also speaks for the company when the owner reaches out to you for beating a car he tuned on the same mods😅 Besides mods and tune, let’s talk about what isn’t seen. Was he on bad fuel? Is he weight reducted AT ALL? Does he have a whole sub system in the back? What other unnecessary things did he have in the car? For instance too, the intercooler scenario. Between mods and tuning, a lot of it usually comes down to the owner imo. There’s the same animosity in the mustang community too, but a good tuner will never stoop that low, their work will speak for itself and usually point you in the right direction as far as to how to give you an edge.

This about tuners getting into it with you is hillarious!, im going to tell you my personal experience, ive had all the tunes for both my mk6 gti and my mqb audi, i run eqt ots stage 2 e30 on my audi never had an issue and its what i wanted a safe reliable tune, im not going to be claiming its the fastest because its not. I had this debate with myself because i have a Jde oem+ is38. that i will be installing soon i have all the parts just missing the LPFP which ive been told and read i dont really need to run full e85 but it does help, anyways i wasnt sure whether to go eqt again or go anywhere else. I tried hitting up 5150 the guy never responded to me. I haven’t purchased a tune for the car yet because im not installing yet but i will pick by spring. Im guessing im going to go with either a custom eqt e85 tune or the eqt ots depending how i feel i do seek reliability and consistency for this tune. And Ill tell you why sneaky is out of the question though. I have a BT mk6 gti ive ran apr, eurodyne, stratified, sneeky on it. My experience with sneek wasnt too pleasant he was a total douche ive heard the same from several ppl he fucked my car up then didnt want to refund me for a tune that wasnt even completed blamed it on me which wasnt my fault i took the car to the shop consistently made sure everything was up to par before i started tuning. When i asked questions because i had doubts nd didnt know stuff he treated me like shit telling me he wasnt a google nor was he there to teach me anything. En fin he was a total asshole. Fast forward he becomes super popular tuning mqb cars yes he has made some cars really fast i dont take that away from him as a tuner. But as of right now ive met about 20-30 ppl that either he broke their cars or had issues with his tune so they switched. Only about 2 ppl with successful tunes that actually were fast BUT not faster than the same mods on another mqb tuned by 5150 both full e85. Also heard alot about him copy and pasting tunes picking and choosing who he makes faster instead of treating everyone equally. Either way i dont like those odds tbh unless youre going to go TPC which is the turbo hes been most successful with i wouldnt recommend it. But its your choice i just would dislike to see another person with a gti down because he broke their car. Either way good luck bro. I was sort of having the same issues with sneeky. But ultimately he states it clear he isn’t liable for anything that happens. Sucks but it is what it is. Had to get a HPA pump cuz his first custom e30 tune broke the OEM one and wouldn’t let me go above 40% throttle before fuel cutting even on a tank of 93 after draining the e30. He was definitely like well that sucks sorry but 🤷🏻♂️ Pissed me off but I knew that would be the case. Car is all fixed though and rips. Most annoying thing I’ll say is that I paid for extreme pops and bangs and whatever he does refuses to do it with my car beyond minor little pops on cold start. He said my cts catted DP and stock cat back are the cause and that some mk7.5’s he can’t seem to get them to do it. But my IE ots stage 2 tune did it like crazy. I pretty much gave up asking why he can’t figure it out lol. Still Ed at EQT was such a dick to me for no reason I’m his FB group that I couldn’t go to him with my business. Really seems this custom e tune business is all over the place for results

@@benjb8377 literally man I have the same thoughts. What I think it really comes down to is the amount of customers he or any other e tuners allow and they’re ability to deal with it. To much work for one person to do especially when they have no customer service skills. That’s why there’s constantly posts on their social media saying 2 to 3 day wait minimum every time stop getting upset for whenever someone gets pissed. If better systems were in place like limiting the amount of custom tunes or something per month then maybe that wouldn’t have to be said so often. Just my 2 cents though. I couldn’t imagine tuning someone’s car via email 🤣
Sneekytuned is just the best out there for results. I am tuned with Maestro through Frank Mabo. Love his tunes, but I’m not going to lie, there have been times when I’ve almost went with Sneekytuned. The only thing holding me back is the overall price to do so. It would be $700 for the COBB AP, and then another $400 for the tunes from Sneekytuned. That’s $1100 just to go with a different tuner because Frank uses Maestro, not COBB AP. Unfortunately, when I got my tune with Frank, there weren’t many custom tuners out there for the MK7 platform, and I already was using Eurodyne at that time, so I went with Frank because of that. Like I said, he’s a great tuner, but I would love me some Sneeky sauce, and also would love to be using the COBB AP instead of Maestro, because of the easinesses of switching tunes with the COBB AP, and the availability of custom tuners that use it’s platform.
Anyone can tune through Maestro. That’s not a selling point. Sneaky won’t get anything more out of the car than Mabo can and I don’t think Mabo is worth paying for either.
@@HaydenCroix I think I saw saw that n heir website one time, and I messaged them about it, and for some reason, what I was looking for out of a tune just wasn’t plausible, so Sneekytuned and I agreed that if I was staying with Maesro, it would be best to stay with Frank, or something like that. I don’t remember the specifics. It was a while ago when I messaged them about it.
@@dirk5950 i believe what I wanted more so was the CobbAP usability, and Frank doesn’t use CobbAP, so I was looking into Sneekytuned at one point. As far as Frank tunes go, I have zero complaints. I blew two turbos (IS20 and IS38) on OTS Eurodyne files (the reason why I went Eurodyne back then is because it was easy access to switch tunes and also provided multiple tunes for one cost compared to APR)(Eurodyne and APR were really the only tunes available back then when I first tuned my MK7 GTI), as well as had another IS38 fin bend while on an OTS Eurodyne tune. Now, I really do t know why that all happened, but this I do know, I didn’t change anything else except switching from an OTS Eurodyne tune, to a custom tune from Frank Mabo, and I’ve been running a brand new IS38 turbo (over 3 years old now) with zero issues. No blown turbos, no problems since going with Frank. W hen I ran the OTS Eurodyne tunes, my AFR gauge would show massive lean numbers (I’m talking about 15’s and 16’s under WOT!!). With Frank, AFR’s are perfect and have never swayed in over 3 years of time. Frank might not have the fastest tunes, and some might mot like him, but I’ve had a very positive result from his tunes. Granted, my tunes are also on the conservative side (which I asked him to do because I didn’t want to blow any more turbos haha), but still, I’ve done probably close to 75-80k miles on this IS38 turbo with his tune(s) and I’ve had really good results. He is currently waiting on me to get everything correct on my car to make me a tune for meth. There is a Maestro Powertap device, that plugs into the OBD2 port, and through an app on my phone, I can view and switch tunes out (kind of like the CobbAP) now, which I might get. I just want the ease of access to switch tunes instead of having to go home to WiFi and use my laptop to do it all.

Yo Ed said some dumb childish shit to me on Facebook one time and that was it for me. Went to Sneeky the next day. He’s much quicker with getting custom tunes back to you. Definitely has a lot of new customers as well. Only issue I had was the first e30 try broke my my OEM hpfp so I got the HPA and car has been great on 93. Just waiting on a gauge to run E again just to be safe but going to do full and see how that goes 🤙🏼
Ed is a complete toolbag! He’s done the same with me, and others I know too that I’ve spoken with directly. The MQB community doesn’t really know this, because Ed always puts on a smiley face to make others think he’s the coolest and nicest guy ever. So people think he’s amazing, due to his marketing style. To me, it just shows his true self, and how low his moral ethics really are.

@@NerdGenius I have a friend with an EQT E30 tune on his IS20 GTI DSG. He keeps saying it’s “350whp” though he’s never dyno’d it haha. So he let me drive it the other week. Shit felt so slow in comparison to my IS38 GTI 6spd that’s custom tuned through Frank Mabo using just 91oct. I was expecting it to feel as fast as my GTI, because I would say I’m around 350whp (after beating several other turbo cars that say they were dyno tuned at 340whp), but it didn’t. It felt super slow in comparison. I don’t brag about my GTI, because why? There’s no need to. But my friend always does about his and even with the DSG, it felt slow.
@@JacesOwnWorld is20 is a torque monster. It’s power is down low while the is38 is up top. Most of the e85 is20s will jump is38s and are faster than pump gas is38s but the is38 isn’t really quick until after 90mph. I’ve ran a e85 is20 and I catch him around 115 and pull.
What's your reasoning for not sticking with 5150? Just because tune revisions take forever? Seems like people are usually pretty happy with 5150 performance

Definitely has a lot of new customers as well. Only issue I had was the first e30 try broke my my OEM hpfp so I got the HPA and car has been great on 93. Just waiting on a gauge to run E again just to be safe but going to do full and see how that goes 🤙🏼
Ed is a complete toolbag! He’s done the same with me, and others I know too that I’ve spoken with directly. The MQB community doesn’t really know this, because Ed always puts on a smiley face to make others think he’s the coolest and nicest guy ever. So people think he’s amazing, due to his marketing style. To me, it just shows his true self, and how low his moral ethics really are.

@@alvaroperez7879 yeah it definitely has, and you know what the custom sneeky tunes were such a mess that I just got an eqt stage 2 OTS. So much better I feel stupid that I doubted. So much money wasted. Definitely take back what I said previously to try and help people make the right decision.

Have you considered his OTS IS38 maps? Might work well with your setup since Minimal fueling mods.

EQT offers an IS38 E85 OTS tune for $350. And all you need is HPFP, no LPFP necessary. That’s definitely cheaper in my poor man’s eyes. Lol
he will be slower than he is now though. The hpfp map on is38 is very mild

ED dm’ed me also because I posted a video of me gapping a EQT stage 2 tune with my IE OTS. Talking guy didn’t update his plugs. How TF you know that?

I’m not completely blocked from the forums because of these kids getting their butts hurt after causing drama with me. The way I look at it, I almost never ever came away from the forums thinking I learned anything, so it’s just better than I’m not even on there anymore.
@@NerdGenius I have a friend with an EQT E30 tune on his IS20 GTI DSG. He keeps saying it’s “350whp” though he’s never dyno’d it haha. So he let me drive it the other week. Shit felt so slow in comparison to my IS38 GTI 6spd that’s custom tuned through Frank Mabo using just 91oct. I was expecting it to feel as fast as my GTI, because I would say I’m around 350whp (after beating several other turbo cars that say they were dyno tuned at 340whp), but it didn’t. It felt super slow in comparison. I don’t brag about my GTI, because why? There’s no need to. But my friend always does about his and even with the DSG, it felt slow.
@@JacesOwnWorld is20 is a torque monster. It’s power is down low while the is38 is up top. Most of the e85 is20s will jump is38s and are faster than pump gas is38s but the is38 isn’t really quick until after 90mph. I’ve ran a e85 is20 and I catch him around 115 and pull.

What's your reasoning for not sticking with 5150? Just because tune revisions take forever? Seems like people are usually pretty happy with 5150 performance
