Thank you Jamie, you have just answered one of the questions i had regarding killing maggots. As a regular visitor to southfields (pleasure only) i use the dead red tactics and have found that even after having them stowed away in the freezer for a couple of weeks they still return to life once defrosted. However i now put them fresh in water and into the fridge and there they stay until i need them, and only take what i need in a small 1/4 pint tub in water. Oh and the water is either rainwater or spring never tap water because of the adatives .

Great blog Jamie. Use to take all our bait to Ireland in the old days using the knocked down maggot method. Still use it today . Saves you cleaning out the bait fridge after a mass escape.

Yeah we still do that over there Paul but the quality of the bait in Ireland is brilliant isn't it!

Great vlog matey. Regarding local tackle shops and accessibility, I agree its hard to find any that are open these days. The tackle shop I used closed down recently and they had been around for a long long time, for as long as I remember. The internet and cheap Chinese imports seems to have been the catalyst that lead to its demise. Now its at least a 40 minute round trip for the fresh bait and those bits and pieces that I am either running out of or losing lol. I live in Manchester where you would think tackle shops would be in abundance but the nearest one to the city centre, where I live, that sells quality bait and kit,, is at least 5 miles away.

I live not far from you and the town I'm in only has one shop too, there used to be at least five when I was younger

That it ,wack em in the bag take all the air out.Thoughs vacume seal veggy bag the 1's were you can use a hoover and/or vacuum pump supplied. They keep maggots fresh for weeks and caster can be kept longer if you keepem in the fridge just around 0*C and make sure you change wha water every day without delay.A hand full of salt added each wash works well to.But always change the water everyday.
    Keep them vids comming jaime

There is one plus that a lot of venues have a tackle shop on site, but not all the big single lakes ,

Boring question but you've mentioned work a few times in your vlogs, about long weeks etc. Just curious as to what you do, not so much where and the company name if you haven't mentioned it for a reason. Cheers
