Q of the Day: The more realistic facial features have been a net positive for me. I do get where you’re coming from in terms of it being a little distracting at times, but I like how clean and consistent they tend to be. As far as the figure itself, I like to say that the standards I hold Hasbro to are the ones they set themselves, and we all know that they’re capable of much better. I think the problem is that Hasbro Marvel Legends has become a sweat shop that’s just trying to turn out as much product as possible, and yes, a lot of that is on us. I continue to believe that the problem started with retro cards, fan channel exclusives, deluxe figures, etc. When it was just conventional retail waves, there were still good figures and bad figures, but I think there was more consistency overall. Same ceilings, but higher floors than what we’ve got now.
The other issue is that a lot of older collectors are getting pretty close to meeting their collection needs, but Hasbro has to keep them on the hook long-term. That's why we end up with a lot of figures that are missing crucial accessories, or coming out on outdated bucks, or have an obscure costume or inaccurate costume details. They want you to constantly be updating your collection with better figures rather than being satisfied with what you already have. That's why the Black Widow they released this year is so shocking. It has a complete assortment of accessories, modern articulation and you can even cover multiple eras and looks with the different heads. You basically won't need another Black Widow figure, at least not for a very long time.
God glad I waited for your review of one of my favorite characters! Amazing that only you pointed out all the flaws that other reviewers just glossed over or pretended it wasn’t a problem. As always my favorite reviewer and thanx for your objective critique for Bucky Cap. Yes I’m still looking to get him but definitely won’t be surprised at what Hasblow is throwing at us.
These exclusives only make it harder for collectors to find the figures, especially overseas collectors such as myself. We already pay more for figures, but it's even worse when your only option is buying them in the secondary market, when the price is solely decided by the seller. I can't believe what they're charging for Marvel Legends nowadays
Imagine that, coupled with the annoyance of you going through that much trouble only to receive a figure that has imperfections, however minor, even if it's just the paint.
2:20 Q of the Day: Exclusives to me are odd coming from someone living in the UK. Some US store exclusives get a general release here but at a slightly raised price, which I'm okay with since at least they're easy to find, but others will get basically no release here whatsoever. Lately I've found that to be the case with Target stuff, weirdly that wasn't the case a couple years back with the earlier G.I. Joe Classified releases, they were relatively easy to find, but this year I've noticed Marvel Legends and Mcfarlane DC Multiverse exclusives are basically non existent here from what I've seen, not sure if that's the case with NECA stuff too. Either way I agree that if something is harder to get it should be slightly more niche, not something everyone is going to want, like you said a colour variant is the way to go for that sort of thing.
If you just look at this figure alone, the head size seems good enough since that's generally the kind of proportion we've been getting for the past decade. But then you pull out the old Bucky Cap figure side by side and the head is just waaaaay too big to be superhero-esque. We've just been conditioned by modern ML figures to expect "generally fit gymgoer" physiques, as opposed to true superhero physiques.
What you fail to understand Anthony, is that in these Hasbro meetings, they're not talking about articulations or sculpt. They're talking about marketing and profit and cost. This is not a company run by artists and collectors and toy enthusiasts. This isn't NECA or Valaverse or Jada. They. Don't. Care. The employees may care, but they also make mistakes and come up with ideas that don't work (like the belt) that they may think is an improvement, but once implemented, sucked. Then they push the product out, because no chance those in charge allows for changes.
@@arthurchen6464 Yup. Like with all other industries, corporate execs ruin the artistry and creativity of actually talented people. Hasbro's aversion to giving ML figures (especially the MCU ones but even the comic figures aren't exempt) more realistic guns is always weird especially when you look over at G.I. Joe Classified.
I think it's something to do with Marvel/Disney dictating to Hasbro. Since GI Joe is a Hasbro owned property, they can do what they want when it comes to guns.

I stopped buying marvel legends and i couldnt be happier having more money to buy neca figures. I just watch these ML reviews for comedic relief. Hasbro really does suck.
I only figures on a new buck or decent reuse but skip on 80% of their new stuff.
It almost feels like blatant thievery and a little frustrating
Darwins drop off
In my opinion, the faces are improving in look, detail, and quality control. I think this is a great figure. Hasbro isn't perfect each go around, but I think this is one of their better releases.
Have you turned the waist?

I'm watching your review as we speak and I don't pose much, but you are correct, they did not make that belt properly.
Te quejas de todo
I think the head looks fine, the older one's head is too small
I didn't compare it to the old one . Though that one is better proportioned than this one.
how you do a floating belt when the belt has no front part? lmao
Half floating. Connect the pouches to the top half. Floating over the bottom.
never liked the costume design . awkward looking
