Some people would say that you are being too harsh or picky, but honestly for how much the ML figures have skyrocketed in price as well as the HasLab stuff costing an arm and a leg, being harsh and picky is exactly the type of review that we need
I agree. I love ML and have collected since the Toybiz days, but $7 a figure vs. $25...? That's some b.s. when we're seeing quality control issues, little to no paint, and the mismatched plastics on joints on a $200 figure? Why couldn't they just paint over them to match?
@@AnthonysCustoms I think you are critical of Marvel Legends and a lot of other figures being offered by various companies. BUT I think that it's important that someone calls it out when we're not getting what we pay for. I mostly watch Shartimus', Robo's, and your reviews. I love the honesty and if I'm on the fence about a figure I go between each of your channels and you've all typically already picked up said figure and I can make an educated decision. You are the realist and I expect that of you and am thankful that you're critical and not just telling us positives about these releases.
I can't get over how creepy his face is, especially the grinning one. He looks like he's gonna come alive a night and strangle me in my sleep. And at his size, he could.
Why the hell are they not doing movable eye balls on this? This is like the perfect opportunity. Hell I recently got a 6 inch figure that has glass eyeballs on it and another bunch that cost less than 50 that have movable eyeballs, and they can't even do it on 24 inch figure that cost 200 dollars?
I can add more, superheroes shouldn't be muscular because they have superpowers. 😂 Eg, Superman and Spider-Man are journalist/ photographer so they don't need to be muscular because they don't work out like Batman.
The part where Anthony talks about this figure having purple in the blue, and the ToyBiz one having yellow, really highlights how good Anthony is at reviewing. Obviously neither are purple/yellow, but you can see those tints in the blue. That's the sign of a dude who knows about paint and colors, he points out the tints in the blue instead of just saying, "It's not, like, really blue, there's some other color in it. Do you guys know what I mean?" And he also mentioned it when talking about the differences in the red plastics they used.
It’s because McFarlane does unique sculpts then reuses molds for newer figures in ways that don’t make sense. Example him using the buck of his own action figure to create the world’s weirdest Superboy.
Great review as always. The funniest part of the review is your minute long disclaimer for the HasBros. Anyone getting agitated over objective (or even subjective) criticism should really evaluate their thinking skills.
Oh, I'm surprised to see the NECA Deadpool is still part of your collection! That's one of my favorite figures and I set a personal rule for buying toys thanks to that figure: I don't buy anything over $130 if I don't think the figure provides as much value as that Deadpool. This Giant-Man looks nice but at the same time it's so weird. The faceplates are okay but this has to be the most "uncanny valley" looking figure ever. That smile is terrifying lol I still hate the fact that Hasbro didn't want to include Wasp to avoid a "figure locked behind a paywall" situation and then still released a new Wasp as an exclusive two-pack anyway. I think a lot of people nowadays believe that more articulation=better action figure. I couldn't care less for the articulated fingers or toe joints. Heck, I don't think butterfly joints are super necessary either, but a lot of people consider them "must have" points of articulation. Hasbro has gaslighted a lot of people with the idea that toe joints, reverse ab crunch and "pinless technology" are signs of a good action figure and that's not true.
Jada's street fighter figures have more consistent painting, texturing, and matte finish plastic at $25 than this $200 "premium" Haslab LOL. But a lot of reviewers are giving 9.8 or 10/10 for this Giant-Turd.
For $200 you're allowed to be picky. It's definitely a much larger Marvel Legends figure, in that it looks pretty good but is also a plastic toy through and through.
I resent the comments that call this picky. The articulation they do is just tragically incompetent at this point. They are consistently greedy with paint and the prices have increased multiple times with no improvements.
i used to not like watching you but taking off the fanboy glasses and realizing you kinda a marvel legends fan too lmao, you a go to watch for me now. : )
Personally I dig the articulated fingers, I do have to wonder why Hasbro chose to do it though. I don't imagine it's saving them much money in production compared to including alternate hands, considering all the different parts and tooling required to pull it off. In a weird way it's like Giant Man's hands are their own Marvel Legends figures, lol
I love youuuuu!! You’re the ONLY reviewer ive seen not kiss hasbros ass!! I have been complaining about their stupid QUALITY! hate that they keep reusing the same bodies! Ugh! Love Ur reviews! Always! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I got mine yesterday and I agree on most of your points. They could have done a better job. Regarding the botched eyes, it seems to be a universal problem. I already messaged Hasbro Pulse about it and I got a response to contact another customer service department with the case number. Such a complicated process for a problem that they caused in the first place. By this time, they should be aware that this happened to most, if not all customers. Otherwise, the figure is okay. It's a good representation of the character but I agree that they could have done better.
It’s crazy toybiz gave us this level type of articulation for way less than what hasbro charges now! And yet people will still eat whatever hasbro gives you….myself included 😂 damn you hasbro!!
People who get mad at Anthony don’t understand what and objective review is: he points the good and the bad so we can decide, as customers, if this is worth buying at such price point
It might be kind of fun to occasionally see a video about your "collector" perspective rather than your "reviewer" perspective, like putting aside the things the figure does poorly your personal opinion and why you're willing to look past those things
I enjoy the non biased reviews that you put out. I've decided recently to stop collecting most Marvel products. This Giant Man is the last Legends figure for me, I'm selling it off already with the rest of my legends. I'll buy some for customs or parts otherwise I'll save my money. Great review
I get the feeling the ML people were anxiously waiting for your review, and now are crying and sharing a bottle of whiskey. And great posing at the end 😂
The zombie face is my favorite here, just because every other face looks like MAD magazine caricatures. He looks like such a deviant that I'd almost expect him to come with an ankle monitor. These are not the kinds of faces you'd get from How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way; not even close.
The whole of ML is just completely off the How to Draw Comics the Marvel Way. The faces have been weird since the start. It's clearly a design choice. The bodies as well, they don't look like superheroes. Heck they don't really look like men either. They look like cheap toys, but they sell them for way too much.
I like my giant man I’m enjoying it. I’m upset that they didn’t include the straightforward eyes but overall this should never have been 200 bucks. This should’ve been anywhere between 120 and 150$
My favorite Giant Man will always be Zombie Giant Man from the Kirkman Marvel Zombies comic series, throughout the entirety of initial saga he was the main driving antagonist after the Zombie Fantastic Four were displaced and defeated. A story is only as good as its villain and ZGM is a fantastic bad guy.
Areas that are more in tension should be spread out and relaxed parts of the suit should be tighter texture pattern, using a weight modifier. I dont know if thats how they sculpted it. It looks like they just dropped a texture on top of it.
They definitely didn't. It's just a texture applied over the polys. I wouldn't expect them to do what you're saying even though it's technically correct. Not for a reasonable price. Every wrinkle would have to have the texture adjusted.
Thanks for your Review! Just got mine yesterday and can only agree with you. I was glad when I checked the leg proportions, and got scared when trying to bring the hands into a fist position… Did put them into hot water as I noticed the joints were „frozen“. I also -hate- the feeling when moving the hips forward… And question the durability of the joints‘s plastic. And still, I feel like I can enjoy having the figure. But you pointed all the flaws properly. Your Reviews are good, objective and necessary. 💪🏽🤟🏽
No excuse on the knees. It's a HasLab, It's ridiculously expensive, and they're definitely still making a very healthy profit. They can swing pennies worth of extra paint...
What really is funny to me is the big deal they made about the eyes and then completely botch them. So now everyone has to contact customer service to receive them at a later date. That is shameful to not include the skrull head as an apology but hey what do I know
Would like to see an Erik Josten Goliath for the Masters of Evil, as well as an updated Bill Foster Goliath. Even if they’re not the same size as this guy I’d still love to see them.
I went in on this, then a few days after I was charged I had to pay to replace three tires on my car and asked for a refund. I don't regret cancelling that order. At all. I do have the Dragonfly coming in and I have a feeling that's going to be much better than this.
I have to say his head being that large really takes away from the look overall. It's super distracting for me. The lack of a basic wash on the body, and the typical hasbro neglect just make the pricing insulting.
I don't think it looks terrible, but do agree with what Anthony said. I think they should've gone for swap out hand options: fists, flat, grasping etc. Completely swap out heads, with a proper dumbbell joint and one in the base of the neck. Oh and a ball joint in the waist.
@ I can’t understand how they are firing people in the transformer team who seems like the most involved and passionate out of any of the people at Hasbro yet we have the most inept and disinterested team and most importantly untalented team for one of the biggest IPs it’s crazy to me
I think as you said in a previous video, it's too late for they to change the quality and give us better products, they just don't care and it's sad, since I saw the color blue wasn't even the same I got disappointed, and mine still hasn't arrived.
The whole thing of having an idea in your head of how a character should be is so stupid and I'm glad you brought that up. If you know how the character is usually drawn, you shouldn't have to "visualize" anything. Yeah, Hank isn't as muscular as Cap but he's still drawn like a superhero, isn't he? Because he... is one? There's just no way for this one, man. So many ridiculous issues and it barely even looks like Hank. If you guys have watched Anthony's videos a lot, you'd be able to deduce immediately this guy's not worth it and it's actually a few steps away from being there. Size doesn't matter if it's not good. The effort is barely more than a regular legends. A 30$ select figure will give you wayyyyyy more value. That Neca Deadpool is proof size only matters if the figure itself is still good. We're having the same discussions over and over again but this will keep being the issue until people wake up and quit with Hasbro already. HasLab gimmick or not, don't be fooled guys.
The problem with this figure is that Hasbro essentially scaled up a standard Marvel Legends figure by four times but increased the price eightfold. While it's large, it only features standard articulation; they didn’t bother to improve the joints (aside from articulated hands). The arm and leg cuts remain aesthetically unappealing, the proportions still resemble a cosplay character, and the face has a semi-realistic paint style
Hands and head are too big. The fingers had to be heated up and I was still worried they’d break. The 2 extra faceplates look suoer goofy. The zombie head is nice enough. I only wanted forward looking eyes to put with the neutral expression. Received two sets of near identical looking side eyes, still haven’t heard back from customer support on that. I currently have the zombie eyes in the neutral faceplate. I was really bummed out when I didn’t receive the one set of eyes that I wanted to display him with. Then the fingers wouldn’t move. Like you said, it didn’t feel very premium, and I will not be buying the 22 inch sentinel as these issues with giant man. The good, boots and gloves look really nice, articulation is good enough for me. Figure is imposing and I like the neutral face expression, especially when compared to the other two.
I get the appeal of articulated fingers but imo they shouldve just went with swappable hands. It would have probably costed less and looked better. Also the faces are just weird
Just wanted to let people know Hasbro *will* be sending out replacement Giant Man eyes, but you have to email Pulse and confirm your order number, etc and they'll get you on the list for replacements to ship in Mid-December
Is it a good figure? Well, yeah! Does it justify the price? Not at all. It’s a Hasbro common figure in a big size, that’s all. Looks plasticky, big head, small shoulders, basic cosplayer proportions… and everything I’ve learned from Anthony 😂❤
I got two pairs of left looking eyes. Had to reach out to customer support as I have no straightforward looking eyes. At this point might wanna give us the skrull head for brownie points
the odds of yours being made with different plastics than mine are incredibly small. it's more likely you just arent noticing the difference. that's common with reds in particular.
It's a neat looking figure but I agree definitely not worth 200, I'd say about 120. The side eyes on him are very distracting now that you pointed it out too. Great photography at the end
I feel like all the budget went into the heads. I dig the zombie head but I like when zombie figures are heavily damaged like a zombie should be, so I agree they should’ve just given us a Skrull head instead because nothing besides the features needed to be changed.
It feels like they literally take a PDF file upscale it add a lil bit more texture to it and send it out as a regular marvel legends. If anybody has the Neca (1/4) daredevil, you can literally spend time pointing out little rivets and zippers on that thing there’s no excuse for a huge company to do this, marvel legends are very adequate for some obscure characters, but if an import version of it comes out, I stop recommending them a long time ago!!!!!
Such an odd question but do the suspenders even do anything for his outfit? More to do with the artist who designed him but it's bothering me slightly.
Regarding articulated fingers, they're needed for this size figure in a 6" line. The whole point of owning a huge figure like this is so they can pick up and hold the smaller figures. I don't care for and don't own this GM, but if I did, I'd 100% need him to be able to use his hands to do all sorts of things to Janet I mean all the other regular size MLs.
I know for a FACT that the legends team watches your videos. It’s fair to assume their design team members have watched your videos (angrily probably). I don’t understand why they just don’t implement your fixes to all of their issues. AT LEAST, when they create new bucks. You’ve been reviewing their figures for almost two decades. It’s YEARS of free consulting material. I swear they make these subpar products out of spite.
@@AnthonysCustomswell,out of 3 prominet Hasbro lines-GI Joe,Transformers and Legends, only Legends havent sent you their products ever lol, because they know you'll be critcial and since they're not willing to improve,no point sending stuff to you. They only want people to say good things.
@ I remember during one of the con panels a few years ago, Ryan from the legends team was shouting out / listing out a bunch of ToyTubers and they mentioned your name. Then another time during a livestream (unparalleleduniverse’s stream I think), Ryan referenced how you use Darwin as a sort of pseudo mascot for your channel. He didn’t mention you by name but he jokingly said that he wishes that a certain toytuber would stop using Darwin for comedic relief. Also, I’m pretty sure Dan Yun mentioned awhile ago that part of his role in marketing is to monitor as much legends content as he can online. There’s no way they’ve managed to avoid your reviews after years of you making them.
My biggest concern would’ve been the fingers. I really wished you would’ve went into details because it’s a design flaw. Each section of the fingers has a peg that goes into the adjacent piece. I’ve heard they get stress marks. So over time that stress mark weakens and eventually break.
It is a good addition to one's collection, but not at 2 hundred dollars. I prefer the gold & blue giant man. As always, your review is a highlight of the day when checking most figure reviews.
hey Anthony, can the Zombie head fit on Galactus by any chance? I was wanting to buy the Zombie head so I can have a Galacti-Giant Zombie Man like the last panel in Marvel Zombies
I could not justify the price for just being a bigger hasbro marvel legends figure. It's too basic looking. For that price, they could have squeezed in at least a figure or two. I really want to say that they should have added wasp as part of the haslab offering, but I think it's the right call that figures like Wasp is not a haslab exclusive. At least it would still give most people a chance to buy it without forcing them to buy the haslab. Maybe a smaller sized Giantman so we can have that growing action. but I'm happy for those who bought it and are currently enjoying the figure. I think for bigger figure, having the multi articulated hands are good but it could still have benefitted from at least a closed fist. And you're right, for that price, hasbro do not have an excuse to cheap out on the figure. The paint, color, and accessories should all be satisfactory or even more. I just hope that you still enjoy the figure even after that review.
There's a 22" Sentinel coming out for $175. Giant Man is 24" for $200. Those are very comparable numbers. Why is one a crowd fund and one available for anyone to buy? It makes no sense to me. I need to ask this here because if I ask a ML group they will give me a condescending answer that begins with, "You DO realize......"
My favorite Giant-Man/Ant-Man is the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series version. I really hope we get a figure of that version. Doesn't need to be nearly as big, about 12 ish inches would be good for that one.

@ I can’t understand how they are firing people in the transformer team who seems like the most involved and passionate out of any of the people at Hasbro yet we have the most inept and disinterested team and most importantly untalented team for one of the biggest IPs it’s crazy to me
all about who you know ...maybe. no idea how hasbro runs... other than not well
D1 Complainer 👏 bro expects Hasbro to not make 1 lil mistake💀
This video KILLED all of the FOMO I had lol, thx Anthony xD
The truth shall set you free lol
Big companies like Hasbro and McFarlane need to step up and give the fans what we want!
I think as you said in a previous video, it's too late for they to change the quality and give us better products, they just don't care and it's sad, since I saw the color blue wasn't even the same I got disappointed, and mine still hasn't arrived.
I don't get it. I haven't heard anymore mention the blue being wrong.
Fantastic review. This is a cool figure for sure. You did a good job with the setup, and the review.
Thanks a lot
My favorite version of giant man is the zombie version of him he’s such a menace in that comic
He's big and slow. Can't they just cut his head off? The whole zombie thing never made sense to me. Superheroes should be able to handle zombies
Yeah but he was still kinda conscious as a zombie although your not wrong about the whole marvel zombies story not making sense most of the time

I get the appeal of articulated fingers but imo they shouldve just went with swappable hands. It would have probably costed less and looked better. Also the faces are just weird
The face from the get go creeped me out especially the dilated pupils.
I do feel like giving it a 7 for aesthetics was generous considering the issues. 7/10 is still a reasonably good score if 5 is average.
The zombie head as an unlock actually pissed me off. Should have come with a tiny wasp and antman
I feell much better that I passed on this.
Always think first..😆and not buy it.
Anthony are you getting the new X-men 97 sentinel to review?
Yes
Hasbro digs in too deep for double ball peg necks. Just make a shallow peg hole hasbro. Damn...
Hasbro is supposed to be replacing the eyes cause a lot of people got 2 sets of eyes looking to the left. Just got to reach out to customer support.
Just wanted to let people know Hasbro *will* be sending out replacement Giant Man eyes, but you have to email Pulse and confirm your order number, etc and they'll get you on the list for replacements to ship in Mid-December
When are your figures coming out?
Always love seeing your photoshoots of Darwin murdering crappy overpriced figures
ngl the zombie face looks fckin awesome
Yes, i am perpetually a child, and I want my middle finger ability :)
Amazing review, you are so detailed with things!
Thanks so much. Glad you like it.
I wanted the Skrull head. They would have sold double if that was the 1st tier.
Love hearing your opinion, especially on Haslabs.
I actually really liked Pym's yellow and blue suit.
At this point might wanna give us the skrull head for brownie points
the faces look sooo uncanny
like someone sculpted Willem Dafoe from memory
Whoever made that comment about Daredevil must be literally snorting copium to be able to ignore the flaws of an inferior product.
Elbows and knees on mine are color matched. The textured sculpting is a little softer on the joints though.
the odds of yours being made with different plastics than mine are incredibly small. it's more likely you just arent noticing the difference. that's common with reds in particular.
They're just supposed to be stripes. Hasbro did this to keep them from breaking up when posing
Regarding articulated fingers, they're needed for this size figure in a 6" line. The whole point of owning a huge figure like this is so they can pick up and hold the smaller figures. I don't care for and don't own this GM, but if I did, I'd 100% need him to be able to use his hands to do all sorts of things to Janet I mean all the other regular size MLs.
i will buy toybiz one for cheaper prize
Those eyes are pure uncanny valley
How does your torso seam look right above the butterfly/ top of shoulder? Mine looks like it’s separating
I'll check later and get back to you. Didn't notice it before if there is a problem though
It is strange that they don't do better but how do you know they're watching?
I did go into it. I specifically said you need to heat them or they will break. There's nothing more to say.
I can’t believe haslab got rid of tier unlocks for the ecto-1
It is a good addition to one's collection, but not at 2 hundred dollars. I prefer the gold & blue giant man. As always, your review is a highlight of the day when checking most figure reviews.
hey Anthony, can the Zombie head fit on Galactus by any chance?
I was wanting to buy the Zombie head so I can have a Galacti-Giant Zombie Man like the last panel in Marvel Zombies
I didn't see how it could. He's way bigger than Giant-Man
I could not justify the price for just being a bigger hasbro marvel legends figure.
I also wanted it but in my country it costs 250 bucks so I'll pass it 😅, by the way thank you for reviewing it ❤
There's a 22" Sentinel coming out for $175. Giant Man is 24" for $200. Those are very comparable numbers. Why is one a crowd fund and one available for anyone to buy? It makes no sense to me. I need to ask this here because if I ask a ML group they will give me a condescending answer that begins with, "You DO realize......"
I think it's just because they dropped the haslab scheme
The funniest thing is that the only thing I like about this figure is the zombie head! Hahaha! XD
Nice review as usual. I noticed that at least the blue matches the blue from the Hank Pym/ Wasp 2 pack
My favorite Giant-Man/Ant-Man is the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes animated series version. I really hope we get a figure of that version. Doesn't need to be nearly as big, about 12 ish inches would be good for that one.
