    Yummy!!! Omg I am sooo happy I finally found what this recipe is called! I used to eat this dish when I was 4 and 5 years old because my grandma used to bring it from a restaurant so I always tried to find this dish again but never could.. I was confusing it with ginger crab but this is what I used to eat as a kid.. thank you so much for sharing this recipe!

      we used gay crab here, gay crab means fatty crab 🦀 same thing we stir fry then put all ingredients and simmer for few minutes to absorbed all the ingredients not to over cook the crab you can used beer also if you want something different than usual. i tried your version in malaysia in ss2 there’s a famous crab restau there.

    What’s is a different between dark soy sauce and kecap manis ? Thanks for your response.

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому +1

      Hi Amelia, Chinese dark soy sauce has a slightly sweet undertone but it's not as sweet as kecap manis. Chinese dark soy sauce is usually used to darken a dish to give the ingredients a nice dark hue with a slight caramel taste. Hope this explains.

    can you substitute the dark soya sauce with regular kecap manis?

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому

      Hi Prido. Yes you can but the dish may be a little sweet. If you don’t mind it, it’s okay 👍🏻👍🏻 we like to use Kichap manis to cook prawns and it was very delicious. Happy cooking!

    Hi What did you add last, white color liquid. Is it starch or coconut cream? Not Clear.

    • @spicenpans
      @spicenpans  5 років тому

      Hi Saman, that was cornstarch solution -- used to thicken the gravy up. It's just a mixture of cornflour with water. Happy cooking!

    excellent video, I would suggest instead of cooking and talking, do voice over once you are editing the video, sometimes what you say gets lost in between the cooking noises.
