- I was lucky enough to borrow a loaner unit of the Snapon Triton D10 to check out the features and operation. I'm very impressed with the new screens brightness and how responsive the touch screen is. This video is just a quick rundown of some of the features and how it compares to the Zeus and Apollo D9. I will be performing some more testing with the unit in the near future.

Just got mine and am absolutely loving it
The tool is SO fast. My Zeus is feeling neglected because I use the Triton D10 so much more often.
Love my Zeus. Same like you I've used at most 2 channels of the scope but to have 4 in case if needed is good.
Nice job Chad I’ve been seeing a lot of questions around the new D10 so I share this in my group this is great information my friend
Thanks. I’ll be doing a few more showing specific features of the tool.
What is the main difference between the triton d8 and d10
Well done Chad!
The information at your fingertips, speed, workorder management/attachments, scope, and graphing speeds are definitely why a Snappy shines...ESPECIALLY if a guy's learning or trying to be on top of certain tips etc...annnnnnd Windows 😉
I really like having windows available to run additional programs. I have picoscope and VCDS installed just in case I need them.
For real! I need to explore more ways to use the Zeus. I scope and scan a lot. Also altusdrive is amazing.
Hey Chad.. thanks - as usual a very helpful and succinct video. While I appreciate the value of the snapon scanners, when I upgraded from my autel I ended up getting a Bosch ADS-625. I've found it to be fast, efficient and there is good bang for the buck. As a small shop owner that serves many different car manufacturers, I found the Bosch to answer all my needs. It also has full wiring diagrams and repair procedures etc. The annual subscription is about $100/month so I feel that there's good value for $$. Anyway, I'm very appreciative of you showing these 3 SO scanners as I like to keep myself abreast of other manufacturer's offerings. Keep up the great work!
Great video Chad 👍 ! I wonder what Snap on will bring out next, Zeus D11.
News Flash: I guarantee you that 95% of techs don't even come close to using the full potential of their Snap On scanner. They falsely believe that the latest scanner will magically solve problems and identify bad parts for them. When in reality what is lacking is a solid foundation in diagnosis and troubleshooting strategies and techniques coupled with a thorough understanding of how a system or component works. Most if not all newer versions of scanners offer more convenience so that techs hopefully don't have to use their thinking to solve problems. Like it or not this is reality. You want to find a techs weakness then ask him to show you and explain in detail how to use the scope functions and explain fuel trims without hesitation. Most cannot! There are a few but not many.
Completely agree. I see many shops but the Snapon Zeus or the autel ultra and just use it as a code reader. Powerful tools are at our finger tips if we only strive to master them.
Pico scope better then my zues m4
Great content, some of the best for sure. Question, how can I open a saved scope file or say open a saved screenshot in windows paint to edit and make notes on my verus edge
I am really amazed at the speed of that tool. I’ve only mess with it for a few seconds. John is trying it out.
above the price point of the stuff I push Chad, but it's good once in a while to see what's out there for people who earn their living using this technology
One thing to keep in mind is they only access and use the cloud if they are current/updated. A frustrating issue I’ve run into. I love using the cloud along with my thermal imager elite so when I can’t use it with my scan tool as well it’s definitely a downfall.
That’s very good to know. Thank you
I just purchased the Triton D10 and I like this scope/scan tool. Should I put a screen protector on or does it have one? After years with the Solus edge the screen was scuffed. I am moving up f to a screen that I can see in the sunlight. The screen is great and boot time is fast. Thanks for all the information.
I’ve never installed a screen protector and haven’t had any issues. The older scan tools had a plastic screen that was easy to scratch. These are much stronger but a screen protector may still be a good idea.
Great video. Keep it up. Intelligent diagnostic works on outdated scanner?
You have to keep the scan tool current for the intelligent diagnostic features to function.
Cool video . I have the Apollo and thinking about getting the Triton . I’d like to see a calibration on an Airmatic suspension on a W211 or W212 if you get the opportunity. Thanks In advance
Scan tool functions are identical. The Triton will only add the scope function to the tool.
I don’t see many MB vehicles so I have never tried a suspension calibration.
How does it do on German vehicles
Great video!! What's the subscription fees to use icloud?
The cloud access is included with the tool subscription. If your tool software gets outdated the cloud will no longer update but your old files will still be accessible.
Hey teach, Still haven't gotton the modis back yet, so hes letting me try out the Triton D-10. Its definitely very sexy. Screen and scope interface are way easier to use.
I’m going to try and do a weekly waveform video with it if get the time. I really like how much better the screen responds to touch.
@@ThePracticalMechanic Yes it responds much better! You can scroll through waveforms way easier. Its more online with the Zeus. Much more user friendly scope wise. According to the snap on web site it has the same sampling rate per second as the Zeus, which is better than the triton d-8 or Modis.
Hi I do work on side at home. Will the Triton d10 still do all the functions you shared in the video ? Thank you Sir.
Yes. The only feature that may not work is unlocking the secure gateway module on newer Chrysler/dodge products. That requires current software and an account with autoauth.
I still use the Triton d10 as my primary scan tool every day.
@@ThePracticalMechanic
Thank you. One last question, Between the triton d8 and d10 are the main differences the screen size and the faster speed of the d10 ?
@@treyhunt9692 yes. The scope is faster too iirc.
Can this tool tell you how to remove, install and bleed the clutch on a manual transmission vehicle?
No. This is a diagnostic tool use to view electrical signals and data from the many computer modules.
Quick question , where does the Verus fall into the hierarchy
The verus edge is same level as the Zeus but doesn’t have the intelligent diagnostic software and may not be supported much longer.
@@ThePracticalMechanic I’ve got the Apollo I just want the Oscilloscope capabilities of the Verus . Like a preowned
autel scanner rule
Is it wireless or does it have a cord ? wireless printing capability ?
It has a cord. As long as the software is current and the tool is connected to the internet code scans and screenshots will automatically save to the cloud and then can be printed from your phone on PC. If software is out of date you can still connect scantool to your PC using Snapon’s free software “Shopstream connect”. Once connected you can download all scans and even recorded scandata and scope data. Various print options are available in shopstream connect.
so this is a scan/ diagnostic tool and a component test all in one? so i can get rid of my vantage legend and Launch x431 torque tools?
Check on it's ignition abilities . Nice work Chad , discounts on tool truck coming ?
Does it do vin re writes like if you swapted a abs module on a Ford would it do the vin re learn on the brake module
Did you ever find out ?
Is the Triton bi-drectional? Either I am dumb or all this is all new (and me still be dumb lol).
Yea the Snapon Triton has bidirectional controls, functional tests, resets, codes, live data, troubleshooting guide and many more features.
@@ThePracticalMechanic Thanks...man your timing...Its ok though, I still appreciate it (makes me not feel as if I scream into the void). I ended up picking up a Zeus...the deal was pretty good. 7k, including the 27 inch touchscreen and docking station, and a year of shopkey. In the last 2 hours I think I learned more on electrodigicals than in my whole life! I was impressed that they even had carb info on 70s cars up there...and, that it was dead on accurate (thats my field)
Does the triton do coding?
It’s limited for coding functions. You can do some features on select euro vehicles l
Maybe they can make me a few loafs
Power balance
It has power balance for many vehicles. the name of the test varies by vehicle make.
Next up...a box named GOD...
As much as I want to believe the triton was modeled after its namesake I'm reluctant to test it under water.
I'd do Triton mom...😆
There better scanner out there then snap on overprice and nothing but junk scanner . Been there with 3 of there scanner . Down the road it's going to cost you money to keep it update and wait until it give you problems been there and right i am having a big issue trying to get my fix . The fix is buy a other 12k worthless junk
Fail. Corded is a huge fail
