    Wow! I just discovered you 45 minutes ago and watched a half a dozen of your videos. All my favorite foods that I enjoy while traveling to my favorite places every year. Now I can make them all at home!

    Perfect Mike!!! I do my own variation on this by substituting pickled jalapeños for the regular pickles. It’s so delicious. 😊👍

    You need to eat cubans in Tampa, FLorida. TRY BROCATTO'S, THEY SERVE THEM BY THE THOUSANDS EVERYDAY!! NEXT??

      Perhaps, but a Tampa Cubano calls for the addition of Salami; can't decide if that's blasphemy or not. 😂

    Just found your channel and too have watched dozen or so of your vids. ..not bad.. First comment. When I make this sammie I use a heat proof brick wrapped in foil, works like a champ. If someone ever says they don't want anything for X-mas give them a heat proof brick. Trust me best gift ever! Quite a lot of fun too!

      Yes, the brick sounds great. I usually use a cast iron pan or pot. Love the brick idea!

    One of the best sandwiches ever. I say "one of" because the oyster po'boy exists, of course. Still doesn't excuse the fact that cubanos are amazing.

    I like to do it traditional, I add yellow mustard the same way, but then I just do a very light swirl of stone ground on one half( I don’t want it on my entire sandwich).

    Brocatto's served some killer chicken wings years ago but they stopped. Someone needs to start up with wings and a roast beef of weck, that a kaiser roll with caraway seeds and course sea salt on top, its a buffalo, ny sandwich. The line will be out the door and around the corner!!

    Miami Cubans typically use Serrano ham and no salami in Miami.

    Tnx,I just saw Scarface for the umpteenth time. Tony's first job in Florida is working in a fast food shack specializing in Cubano sandwiches. 😀

    Huge mistake. The sandwich has to be cut on a long, sharp-angled diagonal. It matters!

    Sorry to tell you a real Cuban sandwich does not have salami in it this sandwich is traditional Cuban not Italian also Swiss cheese no other cheese should be used a Dill pickle not sweet pickles so you are going to get a thumbs down on the video my friend !

    • @ChiliPepperMadness
      @ChiliPepperMadness  Рік тому +1

      Really confused by this. I did use Swiss cheese and dill pickles. So I sweetened the pickles a bit, as they are homemade. I just don't get it. Some people will complain no matter what. Cheers.

      @@ChiliPepperMadness we ain't complaining but if you are going to make a video on a original Cuban sandwich stick to the culture and don't add to you're taste the whole purpose of the video was about a Cuban sandwich not you're version of your sandwich the way you like it My taste of this sandwich is traditional Cuban not the white people version cause then it ain't a Cuban sandwich anymore sorry if you got offended I've lived in Miami and Tampa and I don't think the Tampa version should put salami on a Cuban cause that becomes a Italian sandwich not a original Cuban sandwich 🥪

      This really is quite farcical. Even cookbooks give their own variations. Just crazy.

      I think he's saying that in the video you said 'sweet dill pickles' at 3:55. I make mine with regular dill pickles (not sweet) and cut them the long way so you have a more consistent bite. Nothing wrong with what you're doing--just a subtle difference. @@ChiliPepperMadness
