OMG, we've discovered a little place in Marietta, GA that serves the best Cuban EVER and I've gotten hooked on their sandwiches. We go 1-2 times per week. I'm so excited to try this at home though. Nicole, I've never enjoyed cooking until I started watching your videos over the summer of 2024. Hoping to try all your recipes in our future "retirement" years! I just may become the cook my husband always wanted me to be, thanks to you!
i love you so much. you're the best. i make your recipes all the time and my husband is so happy eating all the foods i'm making. Allrecipes and we are so lucky to have you. god bless.
Lived in the lower Keys for lonnnnng time. You could get some amazing Cubans that would blow your mind all up and down US one at Little mom and Pop shops places tucked away, places did even locals didn’t know existed, the woman that sold them out of her home kitchen until she sold out every day, quickly… have a press, have made them here in Maine, yes, yes… reverse snow bird. 🥺🥺 There’s no replacement for Cuban bread, but since we can’t get it, whatchagottamakedowith is perfect! Any time of year is perfect for me but get yer drift. Wicked wonderful way to make me hungry and homesick 🌴🌴🌞
With the mayo mustard I learned to do it to your personal taste and then spread it on each side of the bread. Then a layer of roasted pork, cheese, then ham topped with a few pickle slices.
I made my wife come and watch this one. (I think she thinks I have a crush on you lofl) I wanted her to see you juice the lime the same way I do. That is the perfect bite. Thanx for the Cuban
This sounds fabulous. If you don't have the ingredients or time to make the mojo fresh, Goya makes a fabulous mojo marinade. Nicole's is probably a billion times better but the Goya is pretty dang good as a quicker recipe.
Okay. Pretty good. After 40+ years in Miami and Tampa, I could narrow it down to maybe 3 of my favorite Cuban cafe. There was a Cuban bakery in Tampa where, if you drive by at 5 am, your car would automatically pull in. No conscious effort. 😂. The smell was intoxicating. Oh, none of my favorite Cuban restaurants are in Key West. Though, if you want some Key Lime recommendations, I have those. 😉
The Cuban shop in Tampa you are referring to is La Segunda in Ybor City. They just celebratedv100 years. They make the best Cuban bread and Cuban sandwiches. The only thing Nichol’s was missing is Salami.
Sold me on trying my hand at a Cuban sammich, not to mention that mojito! Our local deli does a pretty good job with their cuban sammich but not as good as this one looks!
Gotta add the Mayo, even more than the mustard. I always feel that the mustard overwhelms the sandwich and steals the meat as the highlight of the sandwich.
Can you make the pork in a slow cooker? If yes, would it be the same amount of hours, if not, do you have a recipe for it in a slow cooker? I don’t have an oven. TIA.
Wow, I thought that kitchen was in your house. DUH, now that I see you going to the supermarket in the house, I see it is not your kitchen. In your house, I was jealous, wow, but I love your cooking /recipes
You already acknowledged you're wrong to use mayo, so I'll leave that alone 🤣 but I do have a tip if you don't have a panini press. I heat BOTH cast iron skillets. I line the smaller one with foil and fill it with a couple bricks. After I butter the sandwich, I put it in the larger hot skillet, then put the smaller hot skillet (filled with bricks) on top. It presses and it toasts both sides at the same time.
This sandwich and drink definitely look worth my time to make. I was going to put in an emoji to end on but I couldn't find a picture of Willy the Weasel.
That pork shoulder still needed some oven time. When the pork is properly cooked it falls apart as you remove it from the pot. Then you can pull it just by twisting a large fork with one hand. It shouldn’t be in big chunks and require a knife to shred it like hers did. I cook these 5 at a time for catering. There’s no shame in using minced garlic in a jar or doctoring up some store bought mojo marinade. The pork will have incredible flavor and you will save a lot of time (and money)
A recipe is close but incomplete I do appreciate the attempt but where the devil is the salami Genoa salami But everything else is spot on so far please don't tell me you'll put a lesson tomato on your Puke
That is not a Cuban sandwich anymore, firstable it doesn't have pulled pork, but a slice of roast pork instead, any ham cannot be used , it has to be serrano ham, and once you put the mayonnaise you totally screwed it, I assume you are not Cuban, you totally assassinated that Cuban sandwich, to me and any who knows what a real Cuban sandwich is you do not know what you are doing, how dare you call that a Cuban sandwich...Deberias darte una vuelta por el Versailles o la Carreta, never have I eaten that type of sandwich either in Miami or Tampa, to me that is a ham and cheese sandwich...
You really tic me off When you basically said you had to go to Key West when the Cuban sandwich originated it was developed for the first time in Tampa Florida which is the whole of the Cuban sandwich the original Cuban sandwich You'll get your facts straight and wear the same originated who makes the best which would be Tampa
I love love how down to earth you are and how you enjoy being you Nicole 💞

I completely agree about the mayonnaise and mustard mixed. Love y’all’s recipes. Thanks 😊
Claussen pickles are so delicious! Thank you so much. You're always such a joy to watch! ❤

LA Segunda bakery, out of Tampa has the best, most authentic Cuban bread on the planet. Good news for you, they will ship it to you.
I think I’m putting on weight watching you cook these wonderful dishes and cocktails! 😂
Awesome video!!! Mojitos and Cuban sandwiches this weekend!!!
Everything looks delicious. Mojito is traditionally made with Yerba buena and powder sugar.
Thanks for the short tour of the test kitchen. Any way you can do a much longer video?
Sure, I’d love to!
Wow….looks delish! I must try this recipe! Thank you! ❤
Ma'am you made my day, You got my Cuban pride back..... simply delicious
Naranja agria (sour orange) is also available in a bottle.
grew up eating them! delicious. moved to the mid west, hard to find a good one. I guess I will be cooking my own.
I promise it's as good as anything down south!
Getting ready to pick up Cubans and empanadas from the mom-n-pop place down the street. Great recipes!
💖 Love your enthusiasm 😋 👍
Love ALWAYS. YOU ARE BEST. THANK YOU FOR MOJITO...I HAD IT WITH TEQUILA ONCE. SO GOOD. BUT MINE NOT AS GOOD. TY 4 ALL TIPS AND CRUNCHY DANCE
My son brought me a Cuban Sandwich yesterday from a restaurant called Babalu’s. It was fantastic.
Starting it in a marinade tonight for tomorrow. 😄
I never thought to make a cuban sandwich before, yet this seems approachable. 😋
I promise it is! And so worth it!
Nice! I sometimes I add sriracha or chipotle to the mustard/Mayo mix. And extra cheese.
I made this one time and my husband was a happy person! 😊
Looks so delicious 😋
Oh, this looks so delicious 😋
I think we (all of us who watch your videos) have to make Cuban sandwiches and Mojotos first day of spring. 😊😊.
I do my cubins with an equal part of mayo And mustard mix. Doesn't need a lot, just to where it can be tasted.
With the mayo mustard I learned to do it to your personal taste and then spread it on each side of the bread. Then a layer of roasted pork, cheese, then ham topped with a few pickle slices.

😅 thanks for following along!
@@nicolemclaughlin9844 Hey Nicole, Can you show me a stir-fry using cabbage? My mom made me promise that I would try it

Key West? Get the best Cuban in Ybor City(Tampa).
Absolutely
Brocatos on Columbus
Your videos & recipes rock. Thank you for all you do.
Thank you, I appreciate it!
Aloha. Grew up in Florida, Cuban girlfriend. Miss those sandwiches. Haven’t had a good one in over 30 years. Blt and Po Boys a close second.
Nice. Every Cubano I had in south fla was with mayo.
Wow 👌
Yummy!!!!
Not a Mayo fan but making a good mustard creamier makes sense. It covers up the taste of Mayo.
Awesome, thanks
Cuban Sandwich Shop off Druid Hills in Atlanta - authentic!
Hummm goooddd
I always thought you was cooking out your home
Remember that trick I do! I freaking love her
You got me I don't know what to say. ❤
Sold me on trying my hand at a Cuban sammich, not to mention that mojito! Our local deli does a pretty good job with their cuban sammich but not as good as this one looks!
The MoFo marinade?
Gotta add the Mayo, even more than the mustard.
I always feel that the mustard overwhelms the sandwich and steals the meat as the highlight of the sandwich.
I don’t like mustard so I only get mayo on my Cuban, I love it.
Heat that top pan and shave your time in half 😮
Yassssssss!
Yes shave it off!😂
What about the garlic and a little olive oil?
Can you make the pork in a slow cooker? If yes, would it be the same amount of hours, if not, do you have a recipe for it in a slow cooker? I don’t have an oven. TIA.
I make it the same way only difference is I add diced jalapeno peppers and a bit more Swiss (also no mayo lol)
You make me hungry!
That’s my goal!
Wait?! Who are you? Where is chef John? I'm confused! BUT MAN you know how to cook too! That looks amazing! 🤣
Lived in the keys had to make my own Cuban as couldn't find a good Cuban sandwich anywhere there!
Hey ALL RECIPES 😊👋
Fantastic 🎉
Looks Amazeballs… But I say NO to your Mayo !!!! I hate Mayo!!!!
👊🏼💯💙😉
Hi y’all 😊 yummy
Sarussi on 8th st in Miami best Cuban ever!
Fantastic actress
😍🤩😁😆😁
Add some salami next time. I’m not trying to start a war, but a Tampa Cuban has the salames!
I mentioned that piece of info! And then I tried it on mine when I made them again tonight and I say it’s 💯
what a place to work...your "office" is my kinda place...
it's the best!
Cuban sandwich is make with Swiss cheese and sweet ham.
Nicole, you're starting to remind me of Sandra Lee from "Semi Homemade " .... "It's cocktail time!" 😂😂❤
haha! I actually brought her up the other day!
Wow, I thought that kitchen was in your house. DUH, now that I see you going to the supermarket in the house, I see it is not your kitchen. In your house, I was jealous, wow, but I love your cooking /recipes

totally worth it!!
Noooooo mayo....The carnitas looked amazing. Will do that recipe!
I would make that but im poor.

What is that place she is at? Looks like a cooking studio or something.
Bring back the app.
LOL, OMG I thought I was the only one who uses their teeth to squeeze the juice out of lemons or limes😊😊😊
The sandwich, the mojito… (insert the Homer Simpson drool face here)
Mayonnaise is so wrong
NO MAYO!
A recipe is close but incomplete I do appreciate the attempt but where the devil is the salami Genoa salami But everything else is spot on so far please don't tell me you'll put a lesson tomato on your Puke
Salami is a Tampa thing. Most other areas in FL don't use it.
A million dollar kitchen and no panini press?
For as much as you cook, and eat how do you stay so slim. I need to know you're secret 😊
use the mayo on the bun to toast it instead of on the sandwich- thank me later.
More crusty scrap dancing please. After a couple more mojitos maybe. Lol
Mayo is the secret.
No disgusting onions please. Yucky 😢
1st!
second but who cares when she's showing me how to make a delicious sandwich

Your lack of punctuation is wild. I genuinely have no idea what you’re saying.
