Not Cuban bread, not a Cuban sandwich. If the bread is not split on top using a palm leaf, it’s not Cuban bread. The crumb and crust look nothing like the real deal. No chipotle peppers in the sauce either. It is equal parts Mayo and mustard combined. You press the sandwich with the mojo pork on it. Any extra fat that flows out helps to fry the bread. The cheese should always been slightly larger than the bread so as it melts, it touches the press and gets crispy. The Cuban sandwich originated here in Ybor city (Tampa, Florida) in 1896. Also, depending on who you talk to, it’s also supposed to include Italian salami. 0/10 Cuban sandwich would not recommend to anyone.
@FrankFranco-ef9nq Salami is a more recent addition to the sandwich and very largely a regional thing (FL Gulf Coast). It’s not a bad thing and I’ll have it with or without. But salami doesn’t make a Cuban.
@@xakpepe5001 Cubano is mojo roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, a bunch of pickles, mustard, on pan Cubano, and hard pressed. This looks like el pastor pork on a ham and swiss.
As a Cuban I can tell you that this isn’t a Cuban sandwich. First you need Cuban bread, second we don’t put that mayo crap on anything and third we use carved pork. On the positive side the pulled pork and the marinade you used looks excellent especially the tacos you made again tacos aren’t Cuban but it looked very tasty.

That is probably the worst Cuban sandwich I've ever seen. Making the cheese/ham/and pickles luke warm with the toaster, then adding really wet pork did not make it look very appetizing. Also they found someone who's never buttered corn in their lives before.
this is absolutely wrong. no sofrito on the pernil, mojo isn't enough. Cuban sandwiches don't use the pulled pork everyone thinks of. just pork shoulder.

Cuban food is not very popular in Japan, so this video was very refreshing to me. Some people say that this is not the original Cuban sandwich, but the dish changes according to time and place. This video made me want to try Cuban food.
I love Cuban sammies, so I was a little judgmental at first, but then I remembered how much I hate it when the food police tell a local population how they can and can't interpret foods from other regions. There needs to be room for growth and change, in all things, otherwise a food or a cuisine stagnates and dies. This interpretation looks delicious and I wish I could try it.

I was wondering where the mustard was and why they were skimping on the cheese and pickles.
