One complaint I have about other Reseller channels goes in the other direction, instead of negativity they exaggerate the value of items they picked up. They flash a screenshot from ebay that might or might not be a good representation of the truth and is just the highest price on the "sold" list. That gets clicks too because of the wow factor and it makes people think that channel will help them find valuable stuff but they might in fact be going off of bad information. Justin's channel is one of very few I know of that is 100% honest, transparent, and upfront about item value!
Sellers tend to post gross sales not cost of goods, fee's and the rest showing net results. I don't promote any eBay listings and essentially I pay 20%-25% on every single sale based upon the eBay final value fee of total sale structure. Someone saying I made $3500 this week and say 20% ends up in fee's, that's $700 so now we're at $2800. Say cost of goods averages $20 per item and items sell at $100, we'll generally go with those numbers... So thats for sake of discussion, 35 items sold at $20 cost of goods, thats another $700 so now we're at $2100 in pocket. If we were to say its a 40 hour week thats $52.50 an hour but its not a 40 hour week as most sellers have to find stuff, list stuff, sell, pack on and on. It tends to be more like a 60+ hour week, at a 60 hour week thats $35 an hour. For sake of discussion we'll ignore the $3500 in sales or $14,000 a month as declared income as we've write offs. Lets call it that $2100 or $8,400 a month after all deductions or basically $100,000 a year. $100K salary puts one in the fed 24% marginal bracket, so now we're at $75,000. If we take $75K and look at hourly wage now at $52.50 an hour, (75K divided by 12 months = $6250 a month or $1562.50 a week. $1562.50 a week divided by 60 hours work yields $26.04 an hour and we've not dove into State taxes yet. A McDonalds pick up window fella makes $15 an hour, my lady makes $24 as a home health care aid working a $40 hour a week. My daughter in law makes $28 driving a school bus 40 hours a week. Now as to Goodwill the CEO has stated publicly the not for profit plans on massive expansion online as Poshmark for example is a better known brand than Goodwill online. Goodwill is well known in communities offline but not online and they aim to change that. Additionally 80% of every dollar they take in goes to train people for the workforce that is their charter. They are not in the business of supplying resellers with merch anymore than those who donate merch to them are doing so to support sellers nor is Walmart for example. There is massive change coming to online third party selling on the horizon and in 110% completely favors authorized supply chain sellers. Everyone else is looking at big struggles.
There is a certain "Rockstar" youtube guy that obviously makes his money off youtube, selling courses and helping older people at speaking engagements feeding them "get rich" lines.
@@crosswalklarry He makes his dough however he makes his dough. There are third party sellers and resellers who make good cash. Just to display how much many a seller doesn't know take the term reseller. Reseller as a term come from authorized supply chain, aka: "I am an authorized Microsoft Reseller", "Walmart is an authorized Keurig Corporation Reseller", its the only kind of reseller, supply chain invented the term long ago. I began peddling things in 1995 online and soon was in the authorized supply chain. Back then for example eBay had three terms, "Private seller", "Reseller" and "Third Party Sellers." Now they basically lumped any seller as "the seller" in terms of service. You wont see the term "Reseller" used once in eBays terms of service contract. Third Party Sellers adopted the term "Reseller" as that affords them a sort of "Like Walmart is" term so at whatever... family gatherings they dont need try explain, "Third Party Seller You Know, Like Flea Market Vendors..." At Flea markets they are called vendors. Now, the usage of "Reseller" has been weaponized by authorized supply chain deeming sellers "Unauthorized Resellers." So which sounds worse in front of say the public, courts, media, Congress folk, Senators or State Attorney Generals "Third Party Seller" or "Unauthorized Reseller?" That latter stinks of doing something wrongfully. Yet you won't hear Joe/sephine seller say at the fam BBQ "I'm an unauthorized reseller." Right? All that said I known a handful of authorized resellers who do very well at eBay and Amazon with Net profits in the millions annually.
@@crosswalklarry As an addendum its the authorized reseller folks that are the core 25-35% of sellers who make the real money at eBay or Amazon. I've a local friend who's authorized Dell Computers reclamation. He has a store which is required by Dell and buys off lease laptops and Alienware/Dell CAD machines. He pays $17 per laptop by the pallet loads. He's a literal assembly line, test, install on and on and has a former Best Buy Geek Squad tech who can repair machines at a component level. He sells the laptops for about $120 average each. The CAD machines he must part out for the most part. He sells the CPU's, Power Supplies, Mainboards, RAM, Video boards at Amazon. All the scrap stuff goes to a local reclamation. He does $3M a year Net on the laptops alone. Another friend of mine is the largest fantasy and wargaming seller on eBay and Amazon. He too is authorized supply chain and sells new, pre-owned, on and on and has a retail storefront as required. He sells about 4,000 items a month at eBay alone, over a million since he began at eBay. He does quite well. Third Party Sellers who claim make a million gross a year on eBay are anomalies. Authorized supply chain sellers a million or more a year NET is not uncommon at all and they are the sellers who make for 25%-35% of all the sales on say an eBay. Third Party Sellers dont tend get out much, learn supply chain or all the various nuances thereof. They want big profits on low cost merch instead of steady decent profits and higher volume. They like to hunt yard sales, thrifts, flea markets versus having merch delivered to their door with a purchase order and subsequent invoice. Sure you see many third party sellers doing youTube videos to bring in more revenue. You dont see authorized chain resellers doing the same as they are busy making real money and running their business like a business. Thats just the realities my friend.
If you notice half the time they're not even showing the solds of the items, they're showing a currently listed item but they flash it fast, I noticed this because one the item isn't highlighted green nor does it say this item has sold if they were using their own sold item on their account, it's just a gray currently listed item which gives you no info on what the item actually goes for.
Retail anything will soon have a shortage. Unfortunately, it's political, who our enemies are, and what country we buy products from. The spigot will eventually be turned off, and the black market will soar.
I source Goodwill regularly. It's not the only thiftstore I go to, but it's a resource I need. I'm ok with them maintaining a price structure that will keep them in business long-term because I also want to resell long-term. I constantly see overpriced items, and it doesn't upset me, I just keep looking for what is profitable. The more you resell, the more you can identify overpriced items. So, as you become more knowledgeable and selective, it might seem like there is less good inventory.
I agree….to many people make click bait titles. I have finally realized it and skip their videos. Also, I agree with your sentiment. The more I stick with my consistency the more our eBay, Psh and Mercari stores grow.
Thrift stores are listing their prices based off of ebay comps, unfortunately for them the people I am selling to on ebay and other market places aren’t shopping at goodwill and other thrift stores. Resellers are the middle man doing the leg work of finding the items people want. Thrift stores would do better to just price items for quick sales.
The prices around here in the last year have gone up from 499 for a t-shirt , now they're 12 to 18 and a lot of reg decent items are put behind the glass wall , they finally got sick of High free donation turnover and less money and bcuz people were re selling Alot now , head office Value Village 3x the prices. Now " even the poor can't shop at Value Village for a deal , you can go to the mall at Old Navy store and pick up a brand New Shirt for less than at a thrift store now. What a world lol Love it . So it's everywhere I guess . Thank you so much for your content, you are definitely Honest & number one on UA-cam in this category, that is for sure. Regards.
I recall some of the Goodwill stores near me used to have signs saying something to the effect of come find treasure, what treasure will you find today. That was around 2020-2021, when they were marketing to resellers. They took those signs down. The prices I'm seeing now are literally up 250% - 500%. They can do what they want of course. Salvation Army stores prices were already that high. It's just that it was fun before, but it has become disappointing and not enjoyable.
hey there JR, I was watching your "Getting Scolded by Strangers at the Thrift Store for Reselling" when you were checking the comps on your Cardinals jacket and low and behold I saw my jacket when you were scrolling through the sold ones, I got a kick out of that!! Keep up the good work, thoroughly enjoy the chanel, PG, ebay seller "The Good Sportz" from Australia
The only way to counter negative videos, is with positive ones! That’s why we all come to this channel every Monday. Another banger video Justin. That kilt sold fast, nice flip!
My girlfriend was a Mgr of a charity thrift store and the mgrs and employees take the best donations or( buy at ridiculous low prices), so they must charge more for what's left
My old man insured a number of Goodwill locations and toured many of their facilities. Much of what doesn’t sell is packaged into large bales and shipped overseas. Much of this inventory ends up in West Africa. Many vendors there even get creative and upcycle those garments into new styles. Unfortunately, even vendors there have items that go unsold and are disposed of (much of it is the fast fashion that we all pass up)
For the partnership question, you shouldn't look for a partner, you should look for an employee that you pay per listing and train them to photo and list, pay them under $5 per item, pref around $3. If they at getting 10 listings done per hour, they are making $30 an hour and all you have left is shipping and sourcing
I appreciate your videos for focusing on logic rather than emotion. It's always interesting to hear resellers blame thrift store price increases on reselling. Thrift stores, like any business, will naturally take advantage of opportunities to boost profits similar to what we've seen across all retail sectors post-COVID. I believe the increases are more about rising demand for used goods with customers willing to pay for what they want now. As resellers, we should focus less on complaining about prices and more on adapting our strategies to stay profitable.
A quick thank you for the videos where you list/photograph and inventory your products. I have cut my time 75%. I was being a perfectionist (except for a partial finger or two) and reducing my OCD has not affected my sales. So thank you! PS I am still not processing in a few minutes like you but so much quicker than I was!
Hi Justin. Re: Goodwill. I've made a bit of a relationship with one of the pricers at my GW. She told me that they do look a lot of the stuff up on eBay to get a value on it before pricing it, so you're right there. Near me here in FL, the color coded markdowns aren't just a little bit though. They mark 'x' color down every 4 weeks to 1/2 price, so it can be a deal if something you want is still left. Good job with the vids and your video style.
I've been in Goodwill and heard employees talking about how high the prices are. It's not the locals making these decisions, it is the higher-ups. I will say this, you can occasionally find stores where managers are much more reasonable with their prices. These stores, in my experience, tend to be in rural areas. Even in stores that always have high prices, stuff does slip through. I walked into Goodwill one day and immediately got my eyes on a vintage Märklin train sign that hung in the store of an authorized dealer. I knew there would be a train collector who wanted it. The price? $1. I ran to the register with it. I sold it a couple of months later for $175. I have done very well going to estate sales. I've made good connections there, with the people that run them and other resellers. I tend to go on Day 1 of the sale and try to be one of the first few in line, but you don't have to be. I went to one sale on Day 3. I spent two-hours in a dark barn and battling the occasional snake, going through tote after tote of a lot of random stuff, vintage toys, clothes, etc. I paid $30 and bought about 50 items out of that barn. I've netted over $2,000 on that haul, and still have stuff left. I agree with avoiding the negativity, no matter what it is. Doom and gloom sells. Life is tough. Reselling is tough. Change is tough. I sold for the first time on eBay in 2004. There has been more change than I care to think about. Some bad, some good. I've heard people talk about wanting to go back to the old days of reselling. Are you kidding me? I don't want to go back to having to wait for payments to come through the mail, then clear, etc. That's all we knew back then, but I sure don't want to go back to that!
People really need to let go of the myth that thrift stores are there to service the poor. They are there to make money-whether for a cause or themselves.
I always think it's funny to see comment section of people saying something to the effect of "you took that away from someone truly in need". Dude walk into literally any thrift store in the United States, there is no shortage of essentials like clothing. When have you ever seen a Goodwill or another thrift with no clothes on the racks.
After 4 years of NO discounts in our Mid-Michigan Goodwills, They have now gone back to the "Color of the Week" just starting this week. I know they have lost a lot of shoppers and the stores are very full. Glad the discount came back.
My goodwills are just sorting warehouses now, with a small shopping section in the front with any item that is unsellable via their website, the shopping area use to be over 4x the size, now its backwards. A lot of people I know now donate at other locations local who mainly resell locally.
I'm is Southwest MI and they don't seem to do the same discounts in my area which is a bummer but I did drop off some donations and received a 25% off today only coupon, which I took full advantage of. I also noticed a clearance section at one of them a few weeks ago so there is definitely hope that they are seeing the error of their ways.
From what I see online in the groups I follow on Facebook, and what I see here on UA-cam, location pays such a huge part in pricing. Where I live (eastern Pennsylvania ) we have so many thrift stores, and most are overflowing with merchandise priced to sell. They also have frequent sales, and generous senior, military, and police and fire and rescue discount days (25% ), so if you know what you’re looking for you can find many good items very cheap. I know in other parts of the country things are different. People complain that the stores get everything for free, but if what they are selling can’t pay overhead plus show a profit for the causes most of them support, then they can’t keep selling.
I can understand thrift stores selling items online that are worth at least $50+ when listed auction style. My complaint is when they're holding back everything they think is worth even $20. They're going to learn the hard way that it's not worth holding out for top dollar on relatively common items worth less than $50. In addition, they're hurting their stores because people quit shopping there when all they see is $1-$2 garage sale junk that's priced at $5-$10. I don't believe Goodwill realizes the percentage of their sales that come from resellers. This is likely the reason why some of their stores are closing. Unfortunately for them, shutting stores won't decrease their largest expense which is disposal.
I think goodwill is doing fine. As more people get squeezed by inflation and income inequality increases I'd only guess there marketshare will grow. People are upset by inflation and taking it out on goodwill because they are easy to blame. They do a good service by processing all the junk we throw away and keeping it out of landfills. Their markdown strategy allows them to change whatever they want. It really is a great business model.
@@TheMpmpmpmpmpmp I agree. If an online seller sells items for only 10% of retail, and other resellers start buying up their inventory to sell at 70% of retail, I imagine that online reseller would raise their prices. At some point, one is going to look at that and say, "I'm getting squeezed."
I wouldn't suggest going into an eBay reselling partnership arrangement. I've only seen this work with married couples. If you have more work than you can handle then you can consider hiring someone to list for example. If it's going really well for you then you can consider quitting your job to do it full-time, but I know healthcare and other benefits, namely financial stability if you have a family, are big factors in sticking to a 9-5. I'd exhaust all options to try to make your business more efficient and streamlined with proper systems before bringing in anyone else.
I agree. My niece helps me sometimes, and she wants to do this full-time with me. I love her. I trust her. But it would not work. I'd rather keep it structured where I pay her to help, not an equal partner. It would get very messy for the reason Justin said.
I have about 10 goodwills around me (including a by the weight bin one), 2 salvation armies, and 2 other thrift shops. Each - has their pro's. Like the non-chain ones normally price their clothes way too high as do the goodwills in more wealthy areas. But there's still one goodwill the furthest out (almost in the sticks) that still sells most clothes for $2.99. But their DVDs/Blu-Rays are $2! There's goodwills that clearly don't send their stuff to auctions or price their stuff because you can still find great deals there; but the side effect of those ones is they are always packed no matter the day or time.
Hi. Thank you for another great video. Do you have a “how to” video for Flipwise? In other words a step by step guide of what each section stands for and how it is used? Ty
here is a more in depth tutorial. it is a bit outdated as we have launched of new functionality since recording, but it'll give you a good overview: ua-cam.com/video/FLh8i0DewjM/v-deo.html
Want to make more on eBay? Learn more categories. Every one of us walks by great deals every day, every garage sale, every thrift store. The more we know, the more deals we find. Another way to up your income is start selling for others. A lot of people are intimidated by eBay. Individuals that list for those people often take about half of the sale margin for their share. This expands you beyond just the stuff you can find. It is IRRITATING that ebay asks ME for the tracking number on an item where I bought the label from them, and they obviously already have it. Geez.
Thirft stores in my area prices are pretty good. But a lot of employees have told me they love resellers. They move inventory and we are helping a good cause. Its not just about the company making money itself, most of the thirft stores donate to good causes.
UA-camr's showing places like Goodwill how much they are leaving on the table profit wise has dramatically increased the cost of items sold in these locations. Why let the reseller who walked into the store make the profit when the actual original reseller in this case Goodwill take it all for themselves? Store managers also receive bonuses on how much sales they drive. Regardless of how you look at it the content we consume on UA-cam that teaches many of us to go out and find deals is the same content driving up the price.
@@SunshineStateFlippers_Jesse when will Goodwill admit their customer base that drives most of their sales is resellers. And price their inventory accordingly. Yes I realize they have overhead, but they do little to prep and showcase the items while assuming no responsibility for defects, damage and returns.
@@bobbiellison4315 I don’t believe they ever will because they already have eBay stores set up themselves. It’s capitalism but with a “charitable” organization with a CEO that is a multimillionaire!
@@SunshineStateFlippers_Jesse In addition, I have to take that 8 dollar pair of shoes home and spend time cleaning all the dog hair out of the before I can sell them for 24 dollars. Until the goodwill is willing to do that they can kiss my hiney.
What you have to understand is the market in a store and the market online are completely different. Let's say you have a Dallas Cowboys shirt in California. The market in that store is going to command a much lower price than the market online. Resellers add value by taking an item and exposing it to a larger market make a premium. Thrift stores will continue to price their items at the most people will pay. Being a successful reseller is manipulating the margin between a local and an online market because the profit will consistently be there.
Love all of your videos man keep it up. I have a question about the international shipping program because I know that you have talked good things about it. I have had my ebay account for 4 months now with about 130 sales and top rated for a month now. Although I am still not in the program yet, do you know how long it takes after meeting all of the requirements for them to opt you into it. Thanks
Hi Justin! I enjoy the channel content as always. Quick question about Flipwise. Does it export the shipping costs of any other platforms but eBay or do you have to input manually? I mostly use Pirate Ship as most of the time is at least $1 cheaper to ship than ebay.
That banding is either caused by a rolling shutter or some kind of digital scan shutter and the frequency of your light. It’s getting literally brighter and darker in the scene by the frequency of your light and the rolling shutter captures the scene (ironically) more accurately
Ebay can be a good side hustle if done right. Its definitely not a walk in the park. Its a learning curve and its not for everyone as everything has pros and cons. Also you cant really time the market so if stuff isnt sellling just wait it out and do other side gigs while you wait 😊
Hello Justin! Thank you for all your advice. Are you on any other platforms or just sell on ebay? Also, I'm getting lots of clicks in the last 2 weeks not a lot of buyers, is this normal this time of year? Only been selling since July 2024.
Hi Justin, I was getting the zebra effect too when taking pics with my phone because of my LED light setup. I did some research and found that you have to turn up the brightness on the phone camera setting until it disappears. Works like a charm! You have to do it each time unfortunately though...
I use to sell electronics on eBay, I got into clothes because of the fraud, the most common fraud I experienced was the, they didn't recognize the purchase. I always would reach out to the customer and ask them to send the item back and I would issue the refund. The never responded, most time their bank sides with them and they get to keep your item, eBay even told me that was a common scam, but I was covered by seller protection, but it still pissed me off.
I’ve lived in areas where goodwill does not reduce prices, there are no colors of the weeks and the racks are packed with 8.99 stained George shirts. At least it means all the newer donations go to the outlet, because they can’t fit it on their racks. For instance Western NC stores use the colored tags to denote size not the date the donation came in.
Hi Justin! For designer items, like the Coach handbag, do you ever worry that an item might be counterfeit? Or do you trust your experience and expertise in detecting items that might be fake?
Hi Justin, What do you record for cost of goods on something from your own collection? For example, I had a figurine that I had for many years that I sold for $40 and had originally paid $60 for it. Would I use a depreciated value or the $60 that I paid for it?
No one on YT is immune from using click-baity titles. No one. The ones who really get my goat are those who just make stuff up or use thumbnails that have nothing to do with the content..
Hello Justin, I have a question about eBay's tax reporting. Are they basing their reporting on Total sales or Net sales? As NET is always lower, after fees/taxes, etc. TY for ALL your info & help! Love the content.
Goodluck to your first video caller, but if he doesn't have money for his own phone, how would he have money to source items to sell? Even hitting the free section of craigslist or dumpster diving I dont see the 1k profit happening or even close to getting that.
?? Thinking about the travelsmith shirts you said you sold several to the same person but they were different listings and you combined shipping. Did you/do you in general give any kind of refund to the buyer because you were able to save on shipping? I have been doing that myself and just wondering what someone with more experience does in this situation - thanks!
If using eBay to purchase the the shipping label, you just need to specify the package contains hazardous materials. eBay then automatically shows which shipping services apply and prints the label denoting it contains hazardous materials for ground shipping only.
I apologize if you have already answered this one. I’m going to look into your Flip Wise app to see if it’s something for me. My question is, right now I keep monthly excel spreadsheets on what I have bought, paid, listed amount & sold amount. How does this all get into Flip wise? I understand all the data will pull from eBay, but would I have to input what I purchased for? Is there also someplace on eBay to see how much I have listed in a month so I can see which plan on Flip Wise would work for my business?
Hi... I just found your channel. I've been a very active buyer and sold huge items that had to be created and shipped many years ago. All search results do not provide a solid answer on how to discover what the selling trends are in electronics and camera gear. Have you produced a video that can be applied to the current dashboard?
Hi Justin - the ebay policy regarding “used clothing must be properly cleaned” has come up in your videos and other YTers often. There was also a requirement by eBay that there be a statement in the listing attesting to the items being cleaned. In reviewing the policy today, I swear I cannot find the attestation requirement. Rockstar Flipper talks about this policy in a video from about 2 months ago and in the comments, acknowledges that the statement requirement (attesting to items being clean) is now gone. Do you know anything about it being changed? I plan to just leave the statement in my listing since it’s already in my template. Thank you!
I heard thrift workers talking about noticing and pricing out resellers. LOL! The stores in my area are already aggressively shopped due to inflation by regular shoppers. On top of the number of people trying to resell, also due to inflation, there's not an easy picking bountiful harvest. The metal for coins may be exceeding it's fiat value.? Any advice or discussion on inflation and all the ways it impacts or is related to reselling?
it seems like I don’t have that much of luck on thrift stores the way they price is similar to eBay’s listing prices. What do you think. I don’t want to buy bulk because 1- I am fairly new, about a year and half and 2- i don’t have space. Most of what I sell is high end jewelry that would be everyday sale. Your thought on that. Thanks
Hi Justin! I have a Chinese porcelain teapot from a garage sale that the seller was gifted by a family from China. It’s beautiful, signed, and has authenticity papers. It’s in a box that seems valuable on eBay, but I can’t find comps on the teapot. I’m scared to do an auction, because I’m worried it won’t get bids and will go for way less than what it’s worth. But I’m also afraid to price it too low…or for that matter, too high. I just don’t know what I have. What would you do?
Why do you set a fixed shipping price as opposed to calculated shipping? With fixed, you can be required to go out of pocket; and with calculated you don't have that risk. Thank you.
Hi Justin. I have received my first return request. It's for a brand new in box iPod nano that I sold. My partner had it for years sitting in a shelf and I sold it for her. The buyer messaged me a week after receiving it saying that it doesn't charge so they want a refund. They started the return and added that they lost the original packaging and the headphones too. This is starting to feel quite suss to me... I know I can return up to 50% of the purchase price, but without the brand new original headphones and now without the packaging I don't feel like returning more than 25% of the purchase. I even have the feeling that the buyer had an old nano and wanted a cheap replacement... how should I handle this when I receive it back?
Hey Justin ! I just had a question about selling hats. Most hats don’t have a year on them so how can I tell if it is vintage or not ? Thanks in advance !
If your average sell through rate is 3 months and some of these items took much longer to sell, how do you decide when to lower the price and when to stay with your original price? Do you occasionally check your price against more recent sold comps to see if you’re still priced appropriately?
Question. Is there any way to have an automated response set up on ebay to automatically reply when someone asks to take less for an item? I get many questions daily with people badgering me to take less & I don't have the time to be constantly saying no. I lower my prices when I am ready for them to be lowered. It would be nice if somehow ebay would automatically respond with something on the lines of *"No, the seller is not interested in taking less for this item."* Thanks Justin. Appreciate your no nonsense & informative videos!
I think it’s totally unacceptable for thrift/charity stores to ask customers to pay extortionate prices for items which have been donated to them for FREE!
I have had this issue and found a workaround. I used my iPhone native camera app (not via the ebay app), and lock-in on a white background - neutral gray would work as well - by tapping and holding on the spot, and then auto-focus (AF) locks in. Then you go back to the area you want to shoot and go. It prevents the camera from refocusing, so you have to be the same distance from the subject or it will be blurry, but it doesn't "correct" the color. It was washing out my navy blue and other colors. I'm looking for a better camera app where you can lock the white balance and still have autofocus, but this is what I am doing now.
Hey Justin another question lol Since i started selling on eBay, I've made only$3 hundred something Dollars. Now this morning i was going to list my items like every, and it told me i needed to make more sales or wait till next month. Why is eBay holding me back? Can't sell if i don't list! Thank you for your advise!
Hi!! I've been selling on Ebay since the end of May This last week I pasted the 250 listing mark in Ebay. After that, the price of listing went went to $.35 per listing. Is that how it's going to be all of the time each month I have listed 250 listing. Some of the listing are relisting that haven't sold.
Yes. eBay has a limit on the numbet of free listings each month (which includes those that automatically relist.) If you are regularly hitting that maximum, you should look into upgrading to an eBay store.
Ye and the CEO of the Nevada region Goodwill, yep they have multiple CEO's for different regions, was recently arrested and sentenced to 20yrs for embezzling millions of $$$$ for fake work order forms he submitted to their accounting dept over the past few years. The CEO makes 21M almost as much as Boeing Execs. Ridiculous!
What came before capitalism? There was horse trading and prostitution which don't lend themselves well to the eBay online format. At least Craigslist found that out.
Hi! I was trying to pay for flipwise using your promo code earlier today but my bank didnt like the payment processing. I think I have cashapp setup to work now but when I try to enter the promo code it says that its invalid. Can you please hook me up with a new promo code please? Thanks and thanks for the videos with all the great info.
I am going to make a prediction, wait and see if I am not correct. If you don't start editing out the unnecessary info in the video questions, you are going to spend an ever increasing amount of time listening to them as people strive to maximize their screen time.

Thrift Stores are non-Profit organizations and are not supposed to make profits, or they are no longer non-profit,. Eventually they will loose non profit status.

Speaking of Reselling UA-camrs..I know you've said your not a big watcher. However you said Matt over @PartimePicker inspired you.. coincidentally his partner @HomeschoolingPicker inspired me ( way before Matt was in her life) mainly because we live in the same state and relatively same area ( tho I'm a hour n half south of her and a much more economical deficient area)...excuse me..sorry Kayla and you of course..my question is: Do you watch any other UA-cam resellers? Would you ever consider making "Picking" videos? More importantly if you had to fight one Hand 2 Hand in a ring or octagon which one would you choose?
Also if you ever do an eBay store "critique" video I'd love to hear your opinion of mine..@RidgeLifePicks..I started in November. Research and do 90percent of what you tell me and so far every month has been better than the last.. I list 5 a day everyday..I don't pick or list anything less than $10 (if I can help it) and I've almost broke 7 grand in the last 90 days .your strategy works! Kinda like AA.. you gotta work the program for success!!!
They moved eBay for Business to the main eBay Facebook page. You just message them there as usual, and the eBay for Business team replies…as usual. They announced “we’re moving” for weeks before doing the merge. eBay for Business has not gone away-they’re just not intuitively located anymore.
I’ve literally seen thrift store prices higher than if the item was new…it’s ridiculous.

The only ship that doesn't float is a partnership...good advice.
Wish the dressing rooms would ~ sometimes I just wanna pick up some pants for myself.

Geez.

That’s hilarious geez :)
Thirft stores in my area prices are pretty good. But a lot of employees have told me they love resellers. They move inventory and we are helping a good cause. Its not just about the company making money itself, most of the thirft stores donate to good causes.
Was curious about the first young man had to sneak to use his mom's phone and was selling on Ebay. I appreciate your show.

Resellers are using a worldwide market and most goodwills are relying on local sales only but wanting a worldwide market price.

If using eBay to purchase the the shipping label, you just need to specify the package contains hazardous materials. eBay then automatically shows which shipping services apply and prints the label denoting it contains hazardous materials for ground shipping only.
Great vid Justin!!!
Thanks
Well it's good to hear the FB page is still going to be with ebay!
Do you consider box, bubble wrap, tape, label cost into the price?

What gets me is the high price on an item in the thrift store that’s defective or broken . One can buy new for less than
I love Totoro!!
Appreciate your no nonsense & informative videos!
eBay for business was folded into the main eBay Facebook page so help is still available in the same way via that page.
I have gotten multiple Lululemon from Goodwill for $4.99
I think it’s totally unacceptable for thrift/charity stores to ask customers to pay extortionate prices for items which have been donated to them for FREE!
Do you ever have trouble with certain colors? There are certain shades of different colors my phone likes to "correct". Any suggestions?
I have had this issue and found a workaround. I used my iPhone native camera app (not via the ebay app), and lock-in on a white background - neutral gray would work as well - by tapping and holding on the spot, and then auto-focus (AF) locks in. Then you go back to the area you want to shoot and go. It prevents the camera from refocusing, so you have to be the same distance from the subject or it will be blurry, but it doesn't "correct" the color. It was washing out my navy blue and other colors. I'm looking for a better camera app where you can lock the white balance and still have autofocus, but this is what I am doing now.
Steer clear of the ebay fear-mongering on UA-cam. Some accounts (cough cough, Commonwealth), thrive on setting fear in your souls.
Hey Justin another question lol
Since i started selling on eBay, I've made only$3 hundred something Dollars.
Say hello to your mother for me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Ye and the CEO of the Nevada region Goodwill, yep they have multiple CEO's for different regions, was recently arrested and sentenced to 20yrs for embezzling millions of $$$$ for fake work order forms he submitted to their accounting dept over the past few years. The CEO makes 21M almost as much as Boeing Execs. Ridiculous!
Justin hypothetically speaking, if you were to decide to go full time reselling on eBay what would you do to scale your business

Do you have any thoughts on selling on Amazon have you tried?
Should you sell on Amazon, too?

Fun video
Anytime there's an economic downturn, Goodwill raises their prices.
What came before capitalism? There was horse trading and prostitution which don't lend themselves well to the eBay online format. At least Craigslist found that out.

time codes can always be found in the description!
Say hello to your mother for me😂
That was the best dead-pan humor I've seen in a while. Didn't skip a beat. Classic. 😉

Greed, while operating under the guise of being a charity! Sad.
I am going to make a prediction, wait and see if I am not correct. If you don't start editing out the unnecessary info in the video questions, you are going to spend an ever increasing amount of time listening to them as people strive to maximize their screen time.
i do edit them actually :)
Goodwill is no longer good just a will to pay big money to the corporate office big wigs.
Guy in the beginning looks to old to live with his mom.
A lot of the younger generation still lives with their parents. Depending where you live it's next to impossible to live on your own unless your taking home 75k plus a year. I have an employee in his early 30s that still lives at home because average rent in my area is over half his take home pay a month.
@@tellivision majority of people get married, combine income, and easily move out of thier parents house. Buying a house alone would be harder buy moving into an apartment, condo, or trailer home is not impossible.
And they’ll be going bankrupt soon too lol😂
Thrift Stores are non-Profit organizations and are not supposed to make profits, or they are no longer non-profit,. Eventually they will loose non profit status.
All of the profit goes back into the many programs. (I was the e-commerce manager for California Goodwills for years-they don't exist for resellers, they exist for the communities they serve.)
@@stugomez8765 Self serving to sell on eBay to the highest bidder regardless which community benefits. Something has changed where Thrift stores now sell to make a big profit, no longer serving the disadvantaged poor folks, even the resellers trying to better there life conditions.
Goodwill's non-profit status needs to be revoked. I'm not making the comment as a reseller. They are now a for-profit store like savers.

I watch a ton of other reselling UA-camrs! I've learned a ton from Matt/PartTimePicker over the years
Sorry must've misunderstood or got your quote confused wth another.. thanks again for the education and entertainment
eBay customer care is a joke. Never spoken to a human anytime I’ve tried to contact them. You’d think they’d value sellers averaging over 6 figures
I tell the chat bot I need an agent and get a call back right away. Never had that issue
They moved eBay for Business to the main eBay Facebook page. You just message them there as usual, and the eBay for Business team replies…as usual. They announced “we’re moving” for weeks before doing the merge. eBay for Business has not gone away-they’re just not intuitively located anymore.
Thanks Amy! I keep getting conflicting reports here. Can you link me to that page? I'd like to update people!
These thrift stores need to go out of business
