Retired veteran here. I just quit my $150k job with a large defense contractor in September to become a full time reseller. I wanted to do something simpler and reduce the churn and stress in my life. It was the best decision I have ever made next to enlisting in the Navy at 18.
Fellow reseller channel here. I always feel validated when friends or family tell me they have been saving boxes or packing supplies for me. I enjoyed your video. Great tips. Subscribing
I have been selling online since eBay started. Getting inventory is the hardest part then and now. I have tried everything. I work a ft hob as a nurse and believe me, I want to retire. But I love the process of selling online. After taxes, it's not great money. But for a hobby, it's something I won't give up.
@@LloydM2 yeah with gov contracts you never know when your going to be told the contract wasn't renewed and your out of a job. I was actually a DA Civilian not a contractor but I did work as a contractor one year.
hard part is you need to make sure you do something like if you had a regular job to go to but now you have no boss or anyone to push you, just need to do it yourself. it is easy to take a day off when you are on your own but it can be taking too many days off that can hurt you. you should pretend it is like going to a job and do it x amount of hours a day.
If you set yourself up as an S corporation, you can pay yourself and still contribute to social security and 401k plans. Like you said, consult with a CPA from your state who knows the laws.
That's great. I could be wrong but I think Millennial and Gen Z are more aware of the importance of investing than Gen X like myself. I started in my late 30s and wish I would have started in my 20s.
Excuse my short term memory loss, the DCG of USACE is a 2 star not 3 star. The CG is a 3 Star.

So just live off your pension. Jeez. How much money do you really need ?
@LannieLord I think I mentioned the word modest retirement. Do you understand what modest means? Let me explain. Its not enough.

Brother, we're the same age and for me I just can't convince myself any longer that any job is worth my time.
@@hilo4noff1 I completely understand. Do you resell or are you fully retired? I still think its important to stay active with something.
@Rocketman-Reseller still working part time but going all in on reselling. Your video is right on.
You served our country well, there’s no reason to be embarrassed
Very honest... thanks
Thank you for your service! I am semi retired and sell part time. Great video

It's far less stressful reselling than working government contracts. 🍻

Staying motivated can be a challenge especially after you take a few days off.

@@Vintagevelvetcat hello from sunny Florida. Your in a great area for reselling.
Do you hit the thrift stores when they open?
@@ChiefVictor We do but have recently discovered that going later in the day when they are restocking the floor is also viable.

I have a tax-free 401K trading account working on building that up for the next 20 years
