Sad but fun fact: The only show that aired on Nicktoons throughout the entire month of June 2024 was the one and only "SpongeBob SquarePants". Making June 2024 the first time since August 2023 where a Nick sister channel's schedule severely downgraded to focus on ONLY one franchise. The only difference is, Nicktoons didn't air the SpongeBob spinoffs at that time.
The thing is, SpongeBob was a creator-driven show from the start and its first film was meant as a complete end, but unfortunately executives don’t care and continue milking for all its worth, not matter what SpongeBob’s quality went through over the years.
Ever since 2003, Nickelodeon always had a bad reputation of canceling shows after 2 or 3 seasons if they don’t reach the ratings that spongebob has which is still disappointing. Even C.H greenblat the creator of Harvey had exposed the network by making an article post that the exec’s forced him to apologize about them being junkie after they canceled his show without telling him before it got moved to Nicktoons.

Honestly SpongeBob to me felt like a cartoon network that could have happened show was so crazy and out there like most of the other shows on the network it could have fit on cartoon network so easily like cmon I'm not the only one who thinks this right?! Im serious if SpongeBob was pitched to cartoon network and aired alongside shows like Ed Edd n Eddy, PPG, Dexter and etc it would have been much better off. To be honest the minute SpongeBob was pitched to nick it felt like a special trincit being placed into the wrong hands and even though alot of us didn't know this at the time the future of the network’s fate was already sealed for better or for worse. SpongeBob feels like a cartoon network show that aires on nick instead of cartoon network but instead of treating it well and not forcing it to continue for 20 freaking years they did the exact opposite and broke every single rule that the creator laid out and put in place for the show but can't do anything about it because he's dead. When and how did SpongeBob become the king of Nickelodeon?
I don't mind because I love Spongebob. Thanks streaming.
I love SpongeBob too, I’m completely fine with it still going. But they should also try to push other cartoons as well. But I do love it!
@@Childishju I strongly agree. At the same time, I'm grateful that streaming allows me to watch any show I want even though I love regular tv.
@@icecreamhero2375 Idk why people wants the show to end. Sure, the newer seasons were downgrades to Seasons 9B-12, but I can't say the show should end this early.
After all, SpongeBob is considered to be the last well recognized cartoon ever made (not counting animated movies, indie animation and anime).
Like cmon guys cartoon network would never do something like that its just disgusting..
That’s interesting, I never considered how SpongeBob would have been on Cartoon Network. I doubt it would have lasted nearly as long that’s for sure. I can see what you mean though, they do treat it like it’s a Powerpull project being placed in the wrong hands. But then again I do love SpongeBob, I just wish Nickelodeon cared about their other cartoons too
@@Childishju I may not have lasted as long but I guarantee you it would have ran for 3 iconic seasons and the movie to top it all off! And I bet the movie would have actually benefited cartoon network greatly with them putting out more movies based on their animated properties
No offense but if SpongeBob was a Cartoon Network show, it would've gotten purged from Max because you know how WBD is. I'm glad SpongeBob is on Nickelodeon.
@@KJD897 Well it would have been able to finish its run after 3 seasons as originally intended too back in the day. And also there would have been no way for spongebob to be purged its too successfull
@@Walid-mk4joConsidering Max has removed so many CN shows, SpongeBob got lucky he was on Nickelodeon so the show still would've eventually be removed. Honestly I think Warner should sell Cartoon Network to Paramount like they did with Nickelodeon.
Yes, it kind of has, cause tha6s all they want to show most the day
Yep, they refuse to give anything else a chance
I hope nick toons can be great again airing the 90s 2000s and 2010s shows all day spongebob can be there just not all the time old nick shows airing again would be great to see and I’m pretty sure if people saw all the different shows airing the channel would get more viewers I mean we get a few 90s shows some time but that’s it give us rugtas 1991 cat dog catscatsh making fiends and more fanboy and chum chum tmnt 2012 robot and monster and more spongebob and loud house can be there just not the only shows nick has a bunch of great cartoons but most don’t air I think we deserve a Nick toons channel that can air every Nick toon show ever for years to come
I agree! Nick needs to put animation at the forefront again
SpongeBob is the 21 century Mickey Mouse. In last 20 almost 30 years..No other IP made the same success as SpongeBob in terms of cartoons.
SpongeBob is so big to where you don’t even need to see the show to recognize something from it.
Yeah. The only other successful IP we had after SpongeBob was mostly Cars. But Cars isn't really that big.
(Indie animation like HTF and Digital Circus doesn't count)
Completely agree
Honestly Nick was great until 06/07 you had good cartoons that taught moral lessons . Unlike today
Fair point
I mean, what would you rather watch if you were a kid ?
A show about a pig, a goat, a banana, and a cricket ?
(Pig, Goat, Banana, Cricket ) Or would you rather watch a badass show about kids doing extreme sports while learning about friendship and moral lessons ?
( Rocket Power or All Grown up )
Nicktoons
Sponge Bob is one of the most overrated cartoons there is.
I don’t need your racist opinion on “sleazy rich white guy”
