Even as a kid, I remember being disappointed that The Powerpuff Girls movie was an origin story. I feel like they could’ve just made that into an hour long special or something. I was hoping that the movie would introduce us to a new villain that really raised the stakes or something. As a huge fan, I still went and saw it, though. Like, I still enjoyed it, but I can see where the movie went wrong, even back then.
@@miss2971 That episode where HIM revived the Rowdyruff boys actually would’ve made an awesome movie concept, because other than Mojo Jojo, HIM is definitely the most dangerous villain of the bunch. So, bringing back the boys and maybe having HIM fight alongside them with his powers for the movie would’ve been sweet!
Craig McCracken had similar idea with Wonder Over Yonder and Guardians of the Galaxy when he was at Disney with Wonder and Sylvia teaming up with Rocket Raccoon and Groot Mark retired from playing the Joker when Kevin Conroy passed away
That wonder over yonder crossover could have been really fun! And yeah mark did say he retired but he did also come back to voice his character in multiversus after Kevin passed so who knows I guess

@@Childishju At least that one was goofy, fun cartoon violence. I don't mind a lesson episode, but "put on sunscreen" comes off a little preschool-y. At least the episode where they learn bad language had the giant toilet monster voiced by Maurice LaMarche doing his Yosemite Sam voice.
There was a planned CW live actions PPG show but it was canceled before it aired tho , probably for the best cause it looked....horrible to put it nicely...
They were trying to satire something that was already satire, but with a cheaper, more obvious satire. The joke is, and always has been, "wouldn't it be funny if little Kindergarten girls were violent?" Not "jaded, bitter parody of childhood heroes." That's Venture Bros, and it worked because it had smarter writing.

I'm not sure if this really counts, but the Season 5 episode "Neighbor Hood" was originally written back in Season 2. But they never made it because they were afraid of getting sued by PBS cause it was too close to Mr Rogers. So it was written as a comic called "Remote Controlled" released in 2000 and they rewrote the episode for Season 5

I know for certain it aired in latam spanish (Cartoon Network south-america) cause I remember watching it, and after some googling I just learned the english version aired on CN Phiilippines and Boomerang in Australia and New Zealand. What happened here?

The Justice Friends may be parody characters but they're not from Powerpuff Girls, they're from Dexter's Laboratory, heck their leader, Major Glory had a very big role in that show as he appeared in the main episodes of Dexter's Laboratory. You may be right but the story I heard was that it was supposed to be a theatrical sequel, not a straight to dvd one. The only reason it went straight to dvd was because the movie wasn’t the hit that it was supposed to be. But if what you’re saying is correct then that really sucks.
Hey dreamcaster, it’s not that it necessarily flopped, it just wasn’t the hit they wanted it to be and definitely didn’t make enough money to warrant a franchise. So they settled on a straight to dvd sequel because the movie didn’t make enough money that would make a theatrical sequel worth it. The Rowdy Ruff Boys are the antithesis of the girls, but what if we had actual evil Power Puff Girls, such a shame. Also, doubt going to see the Teem Titans Go movie would have brought back the OGs, pretty sure that was just to drum up old fans for the Vs movie that came later.

The alternate mirror universe plot (Powerpunk) would have been better for the film than what we got.
