  • Some tips and demonstration of a 3" drywall "nail spotter"
    Technically it should be called the screw spotter. Works great and saves time on large jobs.
    Not really worth using on small jobs.
    Can also be used to first coat 45° degree inside tapes (Straight-Flex, Level-line, No-Coat, etc)

    I think the first coat is best done by hand. It's a quick and useful tool for large jobs with lots of screws, however, on smaller jobs I do them completely by hand. Not sure why UA-cams compression messed up the video quality so bad on this one.

      My nail spotter and boxes are probably the tools that paid for themselves the fastest

      @@Interior_Works what do you recommend as far as boxes 8", 12", 14" 3" spotter and 3 inch angle flusher?

      @@ram12e6 I usually do 8-12 on the boxes, 14" I use if the framing was uneven. 3" spotter, either 2.5 & 3.5 Flushers or 2.5 & 3.5 angleheads. Or a single 3" anglehead or flusher could work for both tapecoat and finish coat, but it's not ideal.

    You’re making it harder on yourself dude. If the flats are dry on the walls start at the top and run that bitch right threw too the bottom one pass on each stud. Time is money

      That's true, I'll try that next time, thanks

    Serious question, what's the difference between the 2" and the 3"?
    Screw and nail heads couldn't be much more than 5/16 wide.

      @Interior_Works  3 роки тому

      Good question, the extra width is more for the tools stability and capacity. The 2 sizes are for those who run the nailspotter twice, so their next coat overlaps the previous coat, for easier sanding.

      I see. Thanks for the explanation.

      @@Interior_Works would it be much harder to sand if I coat 2” twice over a first coat with a knife ?

      Just tie elastic band from the head to the poll with light tension it should work, it will tilt it back for you , or a light spring, whichever works best
