Interestingly enough, the shortest handle works well for an 8' cieling. You might want to get the shortest adjustable handle, as you can find the length that best suits you. The only issue with it is, they are heavier. But it's aluminum, so not by much. But you'll notice it, using it all day. Auch, ich suche mir für einen Freund wer kann deutsch sprecht. Amigo cómo está. Quería preguntar al pasar la caja no deja bordes? Yo hago finish pero a mano y quiero invertir en un ser de cajas 8” 10” y 12” con el favor de Dios. Pero me tiene intrigado si al pasar la caja primera y segunda mano deja bordes? Yo cuando hago el finish a mano quitó los bordes por la espátula para cuando lije no se me haga tan difícil. Just one question One some but joints you gave them 1 coat with 8 inch box at zero but to some you have coated both sides of the but joint why is that i am getting confused. Are u both sides of the but joint on the once that require little more mud.

Hi Gus thx for the reply: The extandeble handle I already have, but I think the easy finish handle is easier in use, I think. The thing is we don’t have stores like you guys here in Belgium so we have to order them and the cost for the transport are as high as the cost of the product. I dont have a 10” but I bought a 7” and a12” box. I asked the salesman if it was not better to skip the 7” and buy the 10” instead. So for me it’s gonna be the 42 “ handle because my partner has to be able to run them to. One more question; what do you use to color the mud? Kind regards

Quita los tornillos que tiene al lado y los resortes y ya se habré , El empaque negro que viene en la tapa también lo quito , ten mucho cuidado y mira como viene el empaque antes de quitarlo ya que si lo pones volteado no te va a quedar y asegúrate que entre bien el empaque y nose doble , de lo contrario se pondrá dura al volverla usar de nuevo

Ok why do you run ur joint down the middle on first coat and not split them on first coat on 0 ? Then on skim ,one down the middle of tape shows you run it on each side of the middle one and skim the 2lines out when crossing off this is a lot of work to go back and have to for sure cross off vs running it on the sides first coat ,then one down the middle most times it works then crossing off and skim tight if needed depends on the butt you’ll know right away you need to split again but good box control 👍just don’t like the system u have going on .

Hey Gus, Quick question, so i have a level 5 flat box set and when i try to run the boxes my mud will sometimes "skip" or ill have dry runs then mud then dry runs again and i do water down my mud not sure if i over do it with the watering down or not enough but it drips and runs easily. Is there something im doing wrong? I also find that i have to use alot of pressure when using these boxes and it basically discourages me from even wanting to use them because its a pain in the ass to get the mud to come out. Especially when im doing ceilings, its extremely uncomfortable and very tiring on my shoulders and i normally always have to push really hard or do more than one pass just to get the damn thing to run the way i want it. Every video i've seen where flat boxes are being ran, they always seem to use little to no pressure and always make the run in one smooth pass effortlessly. Any tips or advice you could give me on what you do and how you run yours? Id greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the long message and also great video man just ran into your channel today as a suggestion and am glad i clicked. Thanks again man. Also, is that pigmented mud you are using?? It looks yellow
There are several factors that I could think of as the solution to your problem because you press hard to make the mud come out : 1) All boxes of any brand when you buy them come with two springs back on the lid where you put the handle, try to remove a spring 2) There is a black gasket that carries the lid where the handle goes, it may be possible that you removed the lid and the gasket to wash the box after you used it, make sure the gasket is correctly installed and is not twisted inside 3) Before each use, add Basooka oil, do not use WD-40 because this oil wears down the gaskets, you will put the oil in the black gasket on the cap, on the tires and on the knife. The type of mud that I use It is PLUS3 of the USG brand, Also the mud has to have the necessary water, do not put too much water in it either I will make a video of the maintenance of the boxes and I will try to explain the problems and solutions, I hope and this will help you, .!😄 if you have any other questions I will gladly share my experience👌😃 Thanks for you comment Brother.!!!

ADEMÁS EL ACEITE TE AYUDARÁ A QUE LA MASA NO SE PEGUE A LA CAJA
2) DESPUES DE CADA USO DALE UNA BUENA LAVADA ,SI POR ALGUNA CIRCUSTANCIA NO PUEDES LAVARLA , PONLA EN UNA CUBETA CON AGUA …….

Been doing the job by hand 25 years.
I want to order the handle you are working with but I don’t know witch length I have to order.
The ceelings are about 8.5 f high and I a 6.35 f tall
Interestingly enough, the shortest handle works well for an 8' cieling. You might want to get the shortest adjustable handle, as you can find the length that best suits you. The only issue with it is, they are heavier. But it's aluminum, so not by much. But you'll notice it, using it all day.

Amigo cómo está. Quería preguntar al pasar la caja no deja bordes? Yo hago finish pero a mano y quiero invertir en un ser de cajas 8” 10” y 12” con el favor de Dios. Pero me tiene intrigado si al pasar la caja primera y segunda mano deja bordes? Yo cuando hago el finish a mano quitó los bordes por la espátula para cuando lije no se me haga tan difícil. Espero tu respuesta y me ayudes por favor que estoy muy interesado en comprar las cajas gracias

One some but joints you gave them 1 coat with 8 inch box at zero but to some you have coated both sides of the but joint why is that i am getting confused.
Are u both sides of the but joint on the once that require little more mud.
All depends in the BUTTJOIN .!!
sometimes i like the first box to run it zero in the middle that way i know which side needs more mud

The extandeble handle I already have, but I think the easy finish handle is easier in use, I think.
The thing is we don’t have stores like you guys here in Belgium so we have to order them and the cost for the transport are as high as the cost of the product.
I dont have a 10” but I bought a 7” and a12” box.
I asked the salesman if it was not better to skip the 7” and buy the 10” instead.
So for me it’s gonna be the 42 “ handle because my partner has to be able to run them to.
One more question; what do you use to color the mud?

Quita los tornillos que tiene al lado y los resortes y ya se habré ,
El empaque negro que viene en la tapa también lo quito , ten mucho cuidado y mira como viene el empaque antes de quitarlo ya que si lo pones volteado no te va a quedar y asegúrate que entre bien el empaque y nose doble , de lo contrario se pondrá dura al volverla usar de nuevo

Ok why do you run ur joint down the middle on first coat and not split them on first coat on 0 ? Then on skim ,one down the middle of tape shows you run it on each side of the middle one and skim the 2lines out when crossing off this is a lot of work to go back and have to for sure cross off vs running it on the sides first coat ,then one down the middle most times it works then crossing off and skim tight if needed depends on the butt you’ll know right away you need to split again but good box control 👍just don’t like the system u have going on .

No problema este es el 10? 0 12 pk ya parace que esta la premiro Mano hecho ya y el video es skimming o es la tape coat? pero lo tapaste un poco en el premiro dis ? Y por eso si Mira asi? Y Cuanto tiempo Tomas para crusar todo de ultima con las luz y skinas pos todo? si parras corto en las 2 manos y tapa las luz de ultima Cundo pasas en Los butts con Mano por el 3rd coat unica cosa es hace tiempo para secar en Los luz

Hey Gus, Quick question, so i have a level 5 flat box set and when i try to run the boxes my mud will sometimes "skip" or ill have dry runs then mud then dry runs again and i do water down my mud not sure if i over do it with the watering down or not enough but it drips and runs easily. Is there something im doing wrong? I also find that i have to use alot of pressure when using these boxes and it basically discourages me from even wanting to use them because its a pain in the ass to get the mud to come out. Especially when im doing ceilings, its extremely uncomfortable and very tiring on my shoulders and i normally always have to push really hard or do more than one pass just to get the damn thing to run the way i want it. Every video i've seen where flat boxes are being ran, they always seem to use little to no pressure and always make the run in one smooth pass effortlessly. Any tips or advice you could give me on what you do and how you run yours? Id greatly appreciate it. Sorry for the long message and also great video man just ran into your channel today as a suggestion and am glad i clicked. Thanks again man. Also, is that pigmented mud you are using?? It looks yellow
There are several factors that I could think of as the solution to your problem because you press hard to make the mud come out :
1) All boxes of any brand when you buy them come with two springs back on the lid where you put the handle, try to remove a spring
2) There is a black gasket that carries the lid where the handle goes, it may be possible that you removed the lid and the gasket to wash the box after you used it, make sure the gasket is correctly installed and is not twisted inside
3) Before each use, add Basooka oil, do not use WD-40 because this oil wears down the gaskets, you will put the oil in the black gasket on the cap, on the tires and on the knife.
The type of mud that I use It is PLUS3 of the USG brand,
Also the mud has to have the necessary water, do not put too much water in it either
I will make a video of the maintenance of the boxes and I will try to explain the problems and solutions,
