You can change the "Mount" type without deleting the camera now!! Goto the Google home app Select your camera.... >Settings>Device Information>Camera Mounts
Helpful video. I tried installing two of these yesterday, but when I added the cable, the camera stopped working on both. I will try again using a different POE injector.
@@BigCVlogs But then they probbaly wouldn't charge a monthly fee! Lol I love my best cameras and Google home setup, and ngl don't mind the payment honestly
Thank you. Could you please tell what kind of box you used to power the cam. I have a hard drive that powered the old cams and will be doing away with it. Your video is definitely super helpful.
Do you know is this same method for continuous charging can be used as trick with third party chargers (brick + usb for nest cam)? Wouldn’t mind buying the official one but in my country is not available and if I buy from Amazon US it the shipping price would make it cost like 5 times the real price
Thanks for the very excellent review. I would like to ask if the POE switch needs to be plugged into an Internet port then there has to be an Internet port nearby. What happens if I do not have an Internet port nearby the camera? Also why can't I just run a long electrical line to the camera instead of using a POE setup? Thanks.
most exsisting systems have the ethernet cable. you can use an electric plug near by but ethernet can all be run to one location and can be done by a homeowner vs getting electrician to come out and install plugs near each camera

I did this and the battery logo stays on it and doesn't even say charging. You have to delete the camera and re install it
@@KRiiSPE I own 4 cameras and never had to delete the camera to change the mount, but who knows lol
@Gendreau113 yeah, you can change the mount but it doesn't change the way it charges, must just be my home app idk 🤷♂️
Thank you for always showing how it's done. Very useful and great review!
Great videos. Got this and set everything up
Perfect! Glad to have helped. :)
Has the size of the R45 connector changed? It’s huge.
No, same size. Must be just how it looked.

Appreciate the video! I wonder if Google will ever allow PoE data?
They should. I don't know why they don't at the price they are. More reliable than wireless for sure.

I use the TP-Link TL-SF1005P. That looks like the same one.
How can I do that with the nest IQ cameras? When I plug them in to the switch the cameras rings flashes red. Would love to run my IQ camera as a POE
can you still use the magnetic mount ?
Yes, you would just not have to charge the camera. It would stayed charged/powered by the poe adapter.
Does this allow 24/7 recording?
No, it doesn't. Just motion recording.
So the only way to get 24/7 recording is through the power cord you buy separately?
