As a Pajero SFX owner, i am extremely happy to see this episode. I have been asking for it for some time now. Thank you Evo India. The reason I bought the Pajero was because it has character. The same cannot be said about most of the cars being sold in India now. People still respect the Pajero when they see one on the road. In fact, it has been a conversation starter ever since i bought it. A triumph of solid engineering.

Still remember watching the overdrive off road episode with pajero 12 years back when I was small. Sirish sir in those typical 2000s 3/4th trouser drenched in mud. OG Days😭🙌🙌
Thanks for this episode, it was a dream for me back in those days...now i own it. No matter how many sleek modern SUVs are launched, the old boxy charm of Pajeros will always be there in the heart and mind of the enthusiasts, it will never get old.
Oh, one more thing about the Pajero SFX... Since I got it and have been driving it, this SUV has never let me down. Maybe it’s good luck for me... Even though it’s a 2009 model, it gives great mileage (despite weighing 2155 kg and having a 2800 engine). I really like my Pajero. Recently, I restored the entire Pajero... repainted it and did some mechanical work... the engine and transmission are smoother than before. Actually, it’s an emotion... it’s not like any SUV that everyone drives these days, like the Thar or Fortuner. Driving it gives a different level of attitude... I drove it continuously for 1500 km, and wherever I stopped, many people tried to learn about it. I don’t like any SUV other than this one... I don’t think there’s any that can match it. A true off-roader with luxury space... it’s my family’s favorite too... But in the last 2 minutes of this video, I really felt like crying... knowing that this car will never come again... ---
I agree with some points but not with others. I have a 2009 model PAJERO SFX, and believe me, it is a very smooth car. It easily touches 160 km/h, and in the city, it gives a mileage of 7-8 km/l, which goes up to a maximum of 12 km/l on the highway. Initially, in the first two gears, the engine remains noisy, but after that, it becomes quite smooth and vibration-free. This is my car; I don't know about other Pajeros. I bought it second-hand for 2.5 lakhs in 2019, and now my SFX is fully restored. I recently drove nonstop from Mumbai to Lucknow in one day. I didn't feel any fatigue while driving, and I didn't even realize when I crossed 1500 km. I was actually sad that the trip ended so quickly. I love my Pajero SFX.
@@sirishch There is no comparison between today’s SUVs and this one... Despite its heavy weight and engine, it still manages to reach 180 km/h... and there is a world of difference between the technology of 2007-2012 and today.
Pajero is the best On-roading and Off-roading SUV that time. Great design done by Mitsubishi. 1. It has one of the worlds best Engine. 2. Awesome suspension 3. Well build body All there made this SUV the great and unforgettable !
I own a White 2013 Cedia Sport. I have kept it stock and still use it as my only car even today. The thing is built like a tank and I don't think I will ever sell it. It is the only Mitsubishi car I have driven but I can so relate to the experience you explained so well in this video. The reward in the effort statement is so true and I agree.

The Pajero 1st came here in the Philippines back in 1989 and it was also launched with a collaboration with Hyundai what we called the Hyundai Galloper, both used the legendary Mitsubishi 4D56T turbo-diesel engine..
Wow sir, thank you so much for bringing this episode. I was, once, looking for a used montero, but was discouraged so much by all regarding maintainence, service, spares, that i dropped the idea. Beautiful video man❤ may be its better that Mitsubishi isn’t coming back to India, the one we knew and loved is long gone even internationally, their ethos and spirit aren’t same anymore, its better to have great memories of a brand rather than them coming back and spoiling it entirely. Lancers, pajero , outlanders and montero still lives as fond memories of childhood, later down the line all these brands and love for cars made me choose my career in Automotive field, even got lucky enough to try few of their legendary models. This video literally gave me punch on my memory lane, what a brand it was, the one which shaped my career ❤
This video brought so many weird emotions, as a child I use to adore Mitsibushi from their powerful and slick looking sedans which we use drive in video games to the almighty Pajero. I always wanted to own one, might think about it 😉
Dad sold mitsubishi for years.. have a montero v98.. cool tip for you guys who own the original rockford cd player. Hold down the cd button for 2 sec and it gives you an aux input... now the rest is something you can find
Mitsubishi Pajero was a legend. In the late 1980’s and all through the 1990’s, upto the early 2000’s, every single one of the Big Bosses, the General Managers and Country Heads of ALL the big Japanese Trading Houses, Industries and Banks and Engineering firms, all of which had offices in India in Madras, Bombay and Delhi, used to use only Mitsubishi Pajero GLX Intercooler Turbo Vehicles. They had fleets of these. I remember them very clearly. Mitsubishi Corporation, Bank of Tokyo - Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Marubeni, Sumitomo, Panasonic and everyone else who had offices here in India, used these brilliant vehicles. So Sirish, they were certainly NOT Grey Market Imports as you said.
oh the road trips across the country, to the Himalayas, to the plantations down south, and then getting stuck while off-roading in our very own backyard 🤣
I've owned my 2002 3.5L NM Gen 3 Pajero (Australian Market) for 6 years now. Absolutely love the car. The seats in the Gen 3 fold flat like in the Gen 4, I personally think the styling inside & out is nicer and the car is just over all amazing. It is a shame Mitsubishi stopped making them all together and replaced them with the Pajero Sport/Challenger. The Gen 3 and 4 are very similar vehicles especially inside, fold down 3rd row seats, fold flat bed, tool kit in the NM, not in the NP I believe, full independent suspension and again just an over all amazing vehicle.
It would be a very personal decision. Owning this is like owning a piece of history. But purely due to its age and how the market has moved forward, you will miss out on many of today's features. Not to mention that its hard to find good examples on sale and the clamp on older cars in scrappage policy
Sirish Sir I have again started refraining and cherish my old childhood memories by started buying again and bought two of the collections and let see next month again will visit the store to grab another one
Lovely video! I was hoping to see the Pajero Sport as well. I was hoping that a Pajero Sport review would be included. Amazing video anyway. I was planning to buy a Pajero Sport or Montero since they are available at the same price.
Thank you so much for your videos.. 3 years since I gifted myself this brutal Suv entering my 30s. My First car, wildest life choice. Camped on every terrain and raced Tarmac toys & sleepers on highways of Himachal to Kerala. It makes big wins for a 16 years old bone stock. Pass dipper if you see 9008 SFX around Vadodara! :)
Bought a brand new 2020 Pajero with the 3.8L V6 and love it. Enjoyed this episode. Sad to see the Model finally layer to rest (until the inevitable Nissan rebadge)
superb job by evoindia, and kudos to sirish for being and excellent presenter. (including a pajero sports in the mix would have been an icing on the cake though)
My family had owned two Pajeros (Montero) in the UAE, first in 2009 and then in 2016 and used the second one until this year March. Both were sold at around 250,000 KM and 200,000 KM respectively. I always enjoyed the revs of that 3.8L V6 in the 2016 model (pretty sure my dad did too xD) but it’s biggest cons were the wind noise in freeways at 120-140 Kmph speeds (cannot hear first row guys in the second row), having the fuel economy worse than a Land Cruiser (around 5 Kmpl), the plastics like you showed in the AC vents cracking and horrible resale value (2016 model did better in our case). In some instances I do miss the practicality and manoeuvring (in tight parking situations) of the Pajero over the LandCruiser 300. Also the credit card holder served a purpose of holding the Vehicle’s license card for us. :) Edit: Great video as always Sirish. 🫡
used to own pajero sfx sold it due to global production was shut down in 2020 till todays day im still finding a car like pajero should I wait for 5 door thar or any suggestions to buy used or new car which can replace pajero

So Sirish, they were certainly NOT Grey Market Imports as you said.
But where were they bought from? HM-Mitsubishi wasn't in operation in the 80s
@@sirishch Japanese corporations - direct imports. All fully clean. Most Definitely Not ‘Grey’.
The montero is the actual 4 gen pajero and its awesome to own !!!!!!!!!!
I'm sure it is awesome to own
@@sirishch yea 2500000 kms and drives like new
Mitsubishi always looked good in those Jackie Chan movies like Armor of God.
Back when cars had characters in them....now everything and everyone's have gone blunt with screens
Brilliant.... brilliant episode👍👍 Enjoyed it thoroughly. Also, great to see the episode back on road instead inside the garage (Swift episode).
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Still waiting for a gone but not forgotten on the "Forester" 🥺❤️

What are your memories of the Mitsubishi Pajero and Montero? Let us know in the comments below!
montero
For me, the love for Pajeros started with a scale model of the 2-door version in blue. Love at first sight!
I Love My 2016 Pajero Sport 4wd , love every aspect of it
btw what is the opening tune
oh the road trips across the country, to the Himalayas, to the plantations down south, and then getting stuck while off-roading in our very own backyard 🤣
We want MITSUBISHI LANCER back❤
Had a 2008 sfx in India and a 1999 v6 pajero highroof in Qatar. What a machine
serious!
The Pajero was my dream car, the lancer was also amazing. Maybe in the future someone will revive this legendary brand in India
We can only hope
This Chasis..Greater than power of pajero...4x4 select switch..the Legendary Terracan We Want That
I've owned my 2002 3.5L NM Gen 3 Pajero (Australian Market) for 6 years now.
Proud owner of Pajero Sport ❤❤
Woohoo!
Should one consider buying one today, how relevant it is in the off-road scene today? I wanted one since childhood!
It would be a very personal decision. Owning this is like owning a piece of history. But purely due to its age and how the market has moved forward, you will miss out on many of today's features. Not to mention that its hard to find good examples on sale and the clamp on older cars in scrappage policy
go for it!
My childhood memory is having a blue Pajero sfx with silver bumper 1:12 RC scale model .
We've kept the Pajero Sport for another episode
Thank you so much for your videos..
3 years since I gifted myself this brutal Suv entering my 30s.
My First car, wildest life choice. Camped on every terrain and raced Tarmac toys & sleepers on highways of Himachal to Kerala. It makes big wins for a 16 years old bone stock.
Pass dipper if you see 9008 SFX around Vadodara! :)
That is awesome! Thank you for watching
Thank you for watching and sharing your story

Bought a brand new 2020 Pajero with the 3.8L V6 and love it. Enjoyed this episode. Sad to see the Model finally layer to rest (until the inevitable Nissan rebadge)
Mitsubishi Pajero,Toyota Qualis, Chevrolet Tavera, Tata Sierra was one of its class of an era
My favourite car..❤❤ miss you pajero SFX
This is my daily driver here in middle east where it’s still common in petrol version.
PAJERO was actually made in JAPAN then sent it to UTTER-PARA WEST-BENGAL PLANT , JISHU SENGUPTA was the brand-ambassador of the car.
not to Uttarpara. to Thiruvalur near Chennai
Mitsubishi,Peugeot,Fiat,CHEVROLET,FORD all leaved India
Japanese are Japanese.. no one can beat them!❤

Yes, been a while since we did one. will do soon
superb job by evoindia, and kudos to sirish for being and excellent presenter.

India is very lucky to get affordable Hummer in the form of typical 4*4 SUV in the shape of THAR presented and futuristic and showcased by Mahindra
Edit: Great video as always Sirish. 🫡
Thank you for watching :)
glad you enjoyed it Allen
You missed Pajero Sport..
