    Hi Susan - Asotin (far SE corner of Washington State). Ive been in my goal range for the past fuve months (down 55 lbs in appropriately 1.5 years).. Weight loss was less challenging than maintenance for me on BLE, but Im successfully navigating it with the extraordinary support available for those of us Bright lifers. I'm 5*1" and 76 years old. (Tried intermittent fasting over a few years prior, but kept gaining and losing the same 30lbs.) Lifetime high weight of 204 lbs and a lifetime of diets. Now 118 lbs. Very, very, very grateful to have found BLE.

    I have been on BLE for about 6 months and took off about 50 lbs. I have relapsed for about a month and I am gaining rapidly! I do not want to go back to where I was! It was a very dark place! I’m here to get back on track and finish taking off the weight and stay healthy! I’m watching every video to get inspired again and start over! Thank you Susan!

    I love calling our bodies a bright body! Maintenance is so tricky to get away from the diet mentality.

    Susan, thank you for speaking about the differences between BLE and 12 Step. The science of BLE, for me, is like the Dr's Opinion as it relates to Alcoholism in the Big Book of AA; Once one reads that, and they have Alcoholism, the responsibility is encumbent upon the individual "to take certain steps". Sponsorship evolved in AA over the years. It began as a member being willing to pay for the hospitalization costs of a prospect if the prospect skated on the bill!
    The Food programs never worked for me because I didnt want to surrender my autonomy to a person who held certain information that was conditional upon my being a certain way. BLE works because I am given a choice based on the acceptance about certain facts about myself reflected in that science. BLE offers hope to all who suffer from this food addiction/disease, unconditionally. Thank you for following your calling. I am grateful.

    Laughter is definitely one of the best parts of this human experience. Thank you Susan for making me and my husband laugh so hard while watching you reply to my question about Pasta. That was so funny! I had used caps and explanation marks in hopes of getting your attention since others had overlooked my question about pasta on other webinars. Your interpretation of the capitalization as my overwhelming love for pasta was hilarious to us. Your facial expression was priceless. We replayed it several times and laughed every time. As a vegetarian since age 16, pasta has been a big part of my life. Noticing there are different types of pasta, I figured there had to be one that was better than the rest. Thank you for the recommendation of the black bean pasta. I will give it a try. Peace

    The information you have provided has been wonderful. I just wanted to clarify something regarding popcorn. It is not a "flour". In its whole form, it is a whole grain. The packaged bagged ready-to-eat popcorn and popcorn sold as "microwaveable, do have highly processed ingredients which definitely can affect the gut microbiome as well as contribute to lighting up ones pleasure center which may cause issues with cravings/food addiction. If the whole popcorn seeds are air popped at home (these can be microwaved in a brown paper bag with no oil) and homemade seasonings/flavoring (ex nutritional yeast, garlic powder) are added this can be a great snack in place of chips or other highly processed snacks.

      Hi there! Thank you for your comment--so glad you're finding the information wonderful 🥰🥰
      Popcorn is not a BLE-friendly food.
      Like potato chips, popcorn falls into a category of, “It’s not sugar or flour, but it’s sugar and flour’s first cousin, and will probably be mean to us like sugar and flour would.”
      For some who are high on the Susceptibility Scale, the ramifications of that kind of thinking, and that kind of deviation, are tremendous. One can slide very quickly into dangerous territory.
      Additionally, popcorn is often eaten as a snack, not part of a meal. And snacks aren't part of the Bright Line Eating food plan. We hope this helps clear things up. 🧡🧡

    For me I took a more holistic approach. I follow a Mediterranean Whole Foods diet with delicious olive oil, vegetables, bread, pasta, fish and chicken. I also enjoy red wine and dessert about once or twice a week. I’ve maintained a healthy weight for 5 years after being overweight and obese through my 20s and 30s. I am now 50. I am a Catholic Christian. I pray for several hours everyday, my husband and I serve the poor and also go for walks to attend church most days and stay nicely active. I found your program to be too restrictive and believe God blesses us with all these gifts - not just foods that don’t contain flour or sugar. If we follow His will and reduce our stress and pray and love others the need for this type of restriction is not necessary. Praying for you all to find joy in the gifts of God. ❤

      It’s not for everyone
      But there are some people do actually have a brain that can’t digest sugar or flour
      It is a drug for us
      It may be hard to understand for some that don’t have the same problem
      But it is a real thing. Sugar is as strong as being addicted to heroin or cocaine.
      I’m so glad you can enjoy all these wonderful things
      There are just some things that isn’t permissible, when you feel like you can’t stop and you have food chatter in your head all the time.

      I am Catholic too but no amount of praying or moderating can stop the physiological changes that occur in my brain when I consume sugars and starches. Alcoholics are the same. They can't moderate their intake. It's an illness, like any other and the treatment is abstinence ❤

    The last video announced last call for Boot camp 2.0 (my apologies , I do not recall the name), your last words resonated clearly: 'if you are not a ......on the susceptibility scale., this is NOT for you..."
    many are NOT (yet) high on the susceptibility scale, but they will/ or may get there - given change in conditions
    If there is NO chance of them EVER getting there, they will most likely not continue watching videos on Bright line eating -
    My point is the fact that many illnesses can be prevented when caught on in their early stage.
    The easiest time to set our minds into Bright lines is PRECISELY when we are not in a crisis, such as one who is an 8 on the susceptibility scale. I suspect that if your subconscious keeps you watching a Bright line video, it may be telling you something about your (hidden) susceptibility.
    Several of those who did not consider themselves an 8> on the susceptibility scale also heard your last words:" this Boot Camp is not for you."
    Thank you for all the valuable lessons!

    Why can’t we eat bacon. I know in your book you say that it would take a little of cooked bacon to add up to 4 oz. Why not just a couple of slices. ??

    • @annettelucas7191
      @annettelucas7191 2 місяці тому

      Correction ** it would take a lot of cooked bacon.

    • @Brightlineeating
      @Brightlineeating  2 місяці тому

      Hi there, Bacon is a bit of a grey area. It’s not recommended. Bacon is light--would take a lot to make a protein and is high in fat.
      That said, if you feel called to eat bacon, it would be preferable to not have it for your entire breakfast protein. 3 oz. of scrambled eggs and 1 oz. of bacon would be a much better idea.
      If you’re still in the weight loss phase, you may want to avoid bacon altogether-it could slow your weight loss.
