God's honest truth...I had literally decided an hour before this video showed up in my email, to get back on Bright Lifers because I need more support. This video is the perfect validation of that decision...my inner wisdom affirming loudly, clearly, bravely, and lovingly that I deserve to thrive, and with a little help from my friends, I will again. Holy Spirit, indeed...

I watched my first video where you presented information that really rang true. At about sixty, I was about 260 at five foot nine inches of height. Obviously I needed a program. So over the next ten years I spent an awful lot of time going over material to answer one question, how can an old guy loose weight. I finally came on my own a couple of changes that made a huge difference. I finally came across your new video and just kept yelling this information is just so great, right, and on point. I spent years to finally decide that carbs especially coming from sugar and flour must never be eaten. I cut back on the number of meals I would eat slowly moving to one main meal a day.. I believed that fat was not evil just make sure you ate enough omega 3 to balance the rest. I took up periodic fasting. Usually eating window of 20/4 each day. Finally I began interval training on a tread mill and other devices never going more than thirty minutes. Timing is up to one minute to reach over 90% max then back off down to mid 70% then another minute up to over 90% max.
Thats the program. So how much time. Less time for eating and six to eight sessions of no more than total of three hours which is less than all those hours spent doing repetitive exercise.
Anyone can do this if a 73 year old guy did it. I lost over about six months sixty pounds. I have continues over the last year losing about 1 to 3 lbs. each month. That does not even start to explain just how great I fee..
    Please keep at it.

She doesn't say carbs shouldn't be eaten. On the contrary, carbs are an essential part of a sound diet. It's sugar (and not all kinds of sugar, but the many refined forms of it) that is a Bright Line. Together with flour, number of meals and quantity. Good job though by losing 60 pounds in 6 months.

Thanks Susan. Love your videos. I listened to Audiobook, I'm a 7 on SS. Sugar was my first addiction and ironically the last one I have to deal with ODAAT. I'm 24 years away from drink and drugs, 10 years off nicotine. I was introduced to a 12 step food addiction programme a couple of years ago, the information was priceless but I wasn't ready. I've been bright line eating for 3 weeks now and lost 5kg, but more importantly I feel connected to my true self and have more peace. S&F definitely blocks me from God. Still struggling with releasing negative feelings but that's par for course. I just try to feel, grieve and eventually heal. Thanks for your knowledge and wisdom, inspiring.

I come from a 12-step background as well. You clearly defined what it was about 12-stepping that ultimately made me feel bad about myself. Thank you.

I am the proud [but often v. frustrated] owner of an ADHD brain. I wonder whether ADHD is one part of the susceptible community. Especially as Susan commented in her book 1 about making your bed in the morning - not automatic for ADHD brains. I really like the clariy of BLE. However, I need something really simple, otherwise my brain gets bored and will ditch the whole plan. Therefore, I'm going to experiment with: [1] a wholefood diet, which I have already been eatin 95% of the time for 2 years. [2] 3x /day I can eat 1 bowl of food [850 ml]. No restrictions on type of food or ratio of carbs to proteins. It's like the difference between using cups and spoons to measure, and scales. Cups and spoons are much more intuitive. I probably won't change my cooking style [lots of vegetable stews and roasts and soups, with meat sometimes, or fish with my favourite breakfast being yoghurt with fruit [apple and orange], nuts and seeds topped with cinnamon. I've been doing this for just 2 days, but it seems to work for me. I would normally have eaten 2 and sometimes 3 bowls [I'm a 60-year old woman, 6 ft 2, 220 lb] aiming for 187 lb.] I'm looking forward to seeing how this works for me :)

My wife and I have been doing BLE for 5.5 months now and we're wondering if anyone knows of Ezekiel bread is ok?

    • @pamcarlsen6334

Sam Hernandez I saw a reply to a question similar to this , she said the ingredients are ok , but if high on the susceptibility scale , it might be too similar to bread. She also said this about rice pasta , it a lot like regular pasta and could trip you up. I hope that make since , I really like Ezekiel bread too.

@@michelemarie1899 after posting this comment 3 years ago we started eating it too… not sure if it was this, but since then my wife and I have gained back much of the weight we lost. I lost 70 lbs and now I’m down a net of about 30. I was high on the scale, 10, but thought I would be ok…

@@samh1776 I agree. I think Ezekial bread, especially with not exercising, is crossing a line. But I think it also depends on what else you are eating. I find I HAVE to count calories, just to keep myself honest with Brite Line eating. Give me an inch and I will take a yard. So I still occasionally have it at lunch when I have to bring my lunch to work, but only then... Thanks for the heads up about gaining the weight back. That's rough!
