Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony is a very aggressive, high demand, secretive, Korean apocalyptic cult that has a long history of heresy, along with practicing deception, manipulation, and outright lying when it comes to their recruitment, historical claims, etc. Sometimes also going by the name “New Heaven, New Earth”, this movement was started by and is led by the “New John” or “Promised Pastor”, their elderly Korean leader Lee Manhee who is the only one who has “mastered the Bible” according to the teachings of this church. In order to deceive and draw people in, they use different Christian sounding names so that they can “creep in unnoticed” (Jude 4).
Churches, pastors, parents, and Christians need to be on high alert about this little-known group (as well as other deceptive groups) that acts very friendly and is specifically targeting Christians to bring them into their cult through their Bible studies (mainly offering to teach about the Book of Revelation) both in online and in-person several month studies (Matt. 7:15).

I am currently studying the Bible with a group of students and the first person that introduced me, I met him on a dating website, then he linked me up with a lady that started teaching me about the Bible for 3 months before telling me about a Bible course that spans for 6-8months. I’m currently one month in and I have so many questions but the Bible is being taught plainly. I googled at the initial start but I was told by my review teacher not to. In my case, I have been introduced to others that have done the course and we have friendly chats sometimes to create a welcoming community, but from the teachings they kept talking about the wise and faithful servant (true pastor) whom the master (Jesus) gave the food (scripture) for the other servants in the household. I shared some of the teachings with my friend and I was told not to. I have been questioning so many things and have been researching and thank God I saw this video. It sounds somewhat like the Bible study I attend; three days a week (tue, fri & sun), studying the parables, can’t tell people about it, can’t miss a class, can’t use phones or take pictures of the class, it all makes sense now. May God deliver us all and reveal himself to us.

I just discovered the Bible study I’m a part of is scj. I’m shocked & couldn’t believe I wasted 4 months of my life while being sick with their indoctrination. My spirit felt grief studying with them because I couldn’t come in agreement with their teaching. I feel betrayed by my friend who introduced me & encouraged me to do this. I questioned their teaching continually, where’s the grace, the trinity, the Holy Spirit??? Jesus was reduced to a righteous “pastor”! He is the Savior! He is God!!! I’m happy I’m out! My husband took my concerns seriously as we both attended the study. He told them off as I warmed my friend that she’s in a cult like I suspected from the beginning & I quietly left. I felt bad for the others still there but I’m not going back. They’re literally behaving like the Babylon with their whack mix teaching!!! Being a Korean American who speaks the language,I looked up the “new John’s” teachings & he is a total fraud. I also listened to Mr shin the former high leader with scj &y so much. I’m thanking God & so joyful I’m out of this cult! But my heart hurt at the same time for getting suckered & my fellow classmates who are still in it. I think I might do a video of my experience & post on my channel. Thank you & the many exposing this cult.
I'm going through the same thing right now. I'm sorry this happened and that feeling of betrayal from someone you think as a friend hits harder than most think. Thank God you had your husband to be your support. That's what my family is for me. I just decided to leave the group today and need to let my friend know. Please keep everyone in this position in your prayers. It is a hard process to unlearn everything and fix your relationship with God after this.

Thank you for this post. I joined Equiped Bible Study back in March this year (that is what they are currently calling their bible classes here in South Africa) through a friend. I was excited about it because I really wanted to dive deep into the word and I wasn't even going out looking for a bible study until this friend introduced me to this Equiped classes. At first it was okay, but a few classes in from the reaction or interaction with the "Facilitators" I got this vibe or feeling that they expect you to be a "blank canvas" not knowing anything about the bible. They expect you to be WOWED about their teaching or explaination of the Parables or the bible. I started having questions and doubts when they started mentioning the FWS (Faithful Wise Servant) and later introduced who this FWS and Promised Pastor is- stating that this Lee Man-hee is the "New John". Really! That is when I exited last week after 5 months. This experience has encouranged me to read and study the word of GOD more and more to avoid falling into such a trap. I thank GOD for taking me away from those LIES! They have taken nothing from me, except for my time 🙄

I am from the U.S. but have lived in S.Korea for 10 years. I have been raised in Chrisianity, as my father was a pastor. I was talked into going to church, as they had an English translator as the preacher preached. I went to the Sunday morning services, and nothing raised any red flags, they sang the popular praise and worship songs that are sung in most U.S. churches. Eventually, I was asked if I wanted to join a Sunday afternoon class, after the church service. I said okay, and attended the Sunday class. After a few months, I was asked if I wanted to join a midweek bible study. The midweek bible study was at various locations outside of the church. The first bible study, I was taken away from the others, to be interviewed. I was asked about my understanding of the bible, and as I have been involeved in church, and believe I have a very good grasp and know the bible well, I answered, everything they asked. Then, the couple who was interviewing me, refuted my answers, and told me that I did not have the true understanding of the revealed word. That raised red flags, but, I figured I would continue on, just to see what their teaching was.
As I started the series of Bible studies, we started at the beginning of the New Testament....and over the months, worked our way to Revelations. As we studied, we were required to take copious notes on the teaching lectures. Periodically, we had to take exams of the material covered. If we did not pass, we had a chance to do a make up exam (test). If still not earning a passing score, you were taken out of that class, and put back into a later starting class to repeat the teachings. After several months, they introduced Lee Man-hee. That was when they started to tell how Lee Man-hee was now the spirit of Christ. They teach that when you become consecrated...the spirit of one of the Biblical people's spirit will dwell within you. As they say the spirit of Jesus only dwells within Lee. I have notebooks full of notes that I took. As I said, the group I studied with, started at the beginning of the New Testament, and continued through each book. They said nothing is literal in the Bible, all is figurative, and prophecy. Here in Korea, their churches are not hidden, most know them. During the pandemic, they were know to be the biggest spreaders of Covid. Their main church is in Daegu, S.Korea.

But when you have no peace, than you ask yourself, whats the reason and why i am Not going to Change...Others seems to change but me not.. I mean to have a heart of prayer or my realtionship to Family is going not get better....I First though, i can change and spread the new Gospel, But i couldnt without having a aggressiv way to do it because they and i get into discussion...But without discussion its also Not possible to live together, when you have an other Point of few, and both sides want to live a godly live and actually want to pray together But without the same agreement over some main points Like, not to pray to Jesus and only to God but in Jesus name(SCJ) or to pray also to Jesus, its a difference... When you cant accept in the prayer, how they're praying But want to have to same understanding of truth is so difficult......But people who didnt learned there, they didnt know how to handel the persons that have the opinion of SCJ....They get to be aggressiv and not showing statements why it is wrong... @MagnifyYaweh I quit literally a week ago and I felt the betrayal. Also quit after finding out about Lee. I just knew that it did not sit well with me. I had asked them direct questions as to whether he was "the one who overcomes" and they kept saying it would be revealed to you in due time. I was outta there the day he was revealed. I was in this cult for about 14 months. I just got out of it on December 22. Actually right now Thursday I am supposed to be in Bible study but I fled last week so no Bible study for me today.
I grew up in church and what SCJ were saying didn’t sit right with me.
I know a lot of churches do not believe in speaking in tongues but my church does. So when this cult started speaking against it, I was not OK with that. There are several scriptures that are pro speaking in tongues but of course SCJ didn’t use those scriptures. Maybe they would have later but I didn’t stick around to find out.
I had to get away from the various nonsense including some little old man from South Korea is the chosen pastor. They also claimed that Jesus isn’t God when Jesus himself said I and my father are one. John 10:30.
In the past people used to use the word brainwash. Today we use the term grooming. This cult groom you into conformity. They occasionally would mention that the disciples didn’t have chairs to sit on or they were not an air-conditioned buildings. They sat on the ground. I wasn’t looking for it but I found a picture of one of their meetings where people were sitting on the floor. There were no chairs. I believe this is the direction they are aiming for in the Bible study that I just left.
When I had moved to a different town many years ago and needed a new church, the church that I decided to attend I had felt so at home from day one. I never felt spiritually excited or relaxed from these SCJ Bible studies. Of course now I know why. I can’t feel spiritually relaxed or excited about a cult.

I started attending this classes after someone on a mom app founded me. She was soooo friendly. I did it for couple weeks then I had my baby and they would write me as soon as I give birth to be back in class. That freaked me out. I just gave birth and they were writing me like crazy… forgot about them (after blocking them) until last week got another invitation on messenger!! This time I wasn’t going to be so naive!! Thank The Lord for His Shining True and Freedom only in Christ. Glory and Honor only to Him forever

My questions were, Is Lee Man Hee the Messiah?, Do you believe God Trinity? Why do you say we don't need to speak this one for others? , I opened my eyes and get it, they were brainwashing my life and also distort the Holy Word(Bible).

New John is Lee Man Hee, what a twisted doctrine. There are many angels mentioned in Revelations, does it mean that there are many John in Revelation? They don’t tell you about Lee until you are 6 months into the class. Wasting peoples’ lives away

I live in South Korea and have a lot of experience talking to SCJ and even WMS members... I've actually had several hours-long conversations with them about their beliefs. They will admit to me that lying isn't a sin, even though the Bible explicitly states it's wrong and not to do it. They think that you're allowed to sin if you're doing it for a good cause (such as getting people to join SCJ), but the Bible also is explicit about that, too. When I speak to SCJ members, there are two main points that I talk about... One is that they think lying is good. The other is about how people believe you can only achieve salvation through SCJ. I tell them that if this is true, then no one went to Heaven in about 2,000 years since SCJ didn't exist. I also try to get them to understand that if you have to go to SCJ to go to Heaven, then you also have to follow Lee Man-Hee to go to Heaven. And if you have to go through Lee Man-Hee, then that is completely contradictory to what Jesus said. There's no justification for either of these main points. Their response is usually deflection.
Have you ever read Rv22:16 ? who is the messenger then please tell us ? Please don’t catergorize/generalize everyone in SCJ some of us hVe doubts we re not stupid! We are in because of everything being according to the Bible. however the ONLY reason we stay is because of the Word. We cannot find truth anywhere else pleases list verses specifically to all the “contradictions” so we to can understand and believe what is actually the truth. @@kazbaby261 , like I said, before, I have spent hours talking to people in SCJ to help them realize that they are wrong. Tell me... Can someone go to Heaven if they do not follow Man-Hee Lee? According to Man-Hee Lee, the answer is, "No." This means that Man-Hee Lee is the deciding factor in someone being able to go to Heaven, which contradicts John 14:6. Go through Jesus to find God, not through Man-Hee Lee or any other mortal.

@@kazbaby261 , I don't know who the angel will be, but it is not Man-Hee Lee. Think about all the angels mentioned in the Bible. When they appeared, many (or most) appeared with such incredible appearance that people were either scared or thought they were witnessing God. (Luke 2:9 & 2:10) So, if Man-Hee Lee is this angel, why does he look like some random old Korean man? Whoever the angel is you are asking about, I am going to assume will take the form that the Bible demonstrates multiple times.
@@crait okay, we Don’t consider him an angel but a regular human being. In the order the Revelation is delivered in RV 1 Man he Lee is ‘John’ or “New John” because he is NOT apostle John who received the vision on Patmos. The Revelation of Jesus Christ is delivered by God to Jesus to the angel and then to John and John is to tell the servants. I’m about to check the verse you mentioned but yes im aware of these encounters throughout the Bible. I’m asking about the servant because the servant is after the angel and if not PP = promised pastor/ Man hee Lee then who else could it be ? SCJ believes the person who has seen and heard the prophecy and physical fulfillment of revelation is the one who overcomes/ the messenger who gives the revelation (revealed word to servants) in every era we see Hod already had messengers who are physical regular human beings. Examples: Adam, Noah, Moses, Abraham …. Regular men God spoke to and they spoke to the ppl. After Jesus it changes God no longer directly speaks new covenant is established. The new covenant we believe is that heaven is not just some easy ticket where you say oh yea I believe in you Jesus and sin everyday a of your life with no effort of salvation rather it’s keeping Gods word in your heart and mind believing in the prophecy and fulfillment of revelation and not adding or subtract form Gods word Rv22:18-19 (why almost all members know the scripture) I’m so rusty and barely study and even I know these things been in 5-6 years. All I cante about is Rv:18-19 if SCJ is wrong which I’m very neutral because I genuinely feel I don’t know although I’m in the church;if it’s wrong then I am adding or subtracting and so I need to know the exact truth of what is correct and no one can seem to give me an answer or something close enough I realize “oh okay I see this is not the answer, even though I don’t know what is.”

I am doing studies currently what i am hearing it frightened me
I was familiar with WMSCOG but when I was approached last year by two very young college students from SCJ I was not prepared to properly address them. At that time I found very few videos on SCJ on UA-cam but I’ve been warning believers about both ever since last summer. Continue to spread the word. I’ve been approached as recent as this Sunday in Atlanta by WMSCOG and in the past 6 months I’ve been approached twice by very young college students from SCJ. I am praying that God will open their eyes. I hate that they are recruiting so heavily esp SCJ recruiting college students.
SCJ has God's seed and they are harvesting the fruits in Jesus's field. SCJ isn't recruiting but rather harvesting the fruits from the maddening wine of Babylon's teaching, Rev 18-2-3. As Mt 25:14-28 tells us to evangelize to the nations. We don't want to be the man with one talent who hid it, referred to as the wicked and lazy servant. SCJ knows the will and purpose of God so they are sharing the word of life and harvesting those who has God's seed as prophesy in Rev 14:14-16

For service the way they justify it is that they do mention Jesus because in their perspective during service they talk about the beginning and the end of the Bible they repeat this over and over again to control that thoughts. To your question on what they will do or say when this 92 year man dies. In that Equiped class they are already saying that he will go up to heaven. When I told my "facilitator" that I am quiting and I will not discuss it any further. She was more interested in knowing what are questions and doubts that I have or had. I realised that this is their strategy, they change and modify their teaching or mention such questions in the bible studies incase there are others who might have these questions or doubts to try and make people stay. LIES! LIES! LIES!

I am currently doing a Bible Study Course called Mastering the Bible Online. Its from New Heavens New Earth Church. For some reason i feel uncomfortable about some things they're teaching and i felt a tug in my spirit to go and investigate and found your chanel.
They teach about the true teachings thru God's true pastors. At first it was interesting but I'm realizing that they don't seem to believe in the rapture, they don't believe baptism is necessary or that it is full immersion...the teachings on Revelation bothers me somewhat so I'm thinking this has to be the same church being talked about here.

Look up Robert Jay Liftons 8 criteria to thought reform. SCJ discourages you use critical thinking. For example they use information control SCJ wants you to only hear their narrative and receive all your information explicitly from them. And critical thinking involves looking at things from different perspectives. This is one of many other examples.

There are many things wrong with their teachings and yes, they are a cult. They teach that the only way to reach Heaven is to go through Man-Hee Lee. They say that you must be an SCJ member to go to Heaven. However, Jesus said in John 14:6 that Jesus is the person you must go through if you want to go to Heaven. Man Hee Lee downplays Jesus's importance in order for him to be glorified. SCJ believers even believe that Man-Hee Lee cannot die! They worship him, but you have not seen it if you are only a new member.

They tend to isolate people by progressively trying to convince those who they recruit that those outside of the group is “the enemy”, that only the group can protect members from “the enemy” (provides false sense of safety and belonging), that information that opposes the group doctrine is “deception” and that only group members and doctrine can be trusted (us vs them mentality, black vs white thinking, oversimplification, confirmation bias, echo chamber, paranoia). They tend to believe that they possess the “ultimate truth” and that the only right way to live is according to the doctrine and rules of the group (provides an unrealistic sense of certainty).
They tend to try to make members believe that they are part of an elite group with a special mission (provides false sense of esteem). They tend to use the vulnerabilities (weaknesses that can be exploited) of people to recruit them and to make members meet group expectations. They tend to claim that they have the ultimate solution to life’s problems and that everything outside of the group is ultimately meaningless. They tend to say that the recruitment process is not happening by mere coincidence but that it is part of some greater plan for the lives of those being recruited (provides false sense of purpose and hope).
Members of high control groups tend to appear happy and willing to suffer for the benefit of the group. To them, happiness comes from “good performance” within the group. They tend to feel that they will never be good enough to meet the standard of righteousness expected by the group (unworthiness) (provides an unrealistic sense of self-actualization).
I think that there are many sincere people in SCJ that are simply sincerely convinced of conclusions based on bad arguments and evidence. I would really like to reconnect with many of the friends I made while in SCJ. However, they label me as a deceiver and commanded that no one interact with me because I'm being controlled by the devil. Luckily, I have been able to reconnect with many of my friends after they also left SCJ.

I have been looking into SCJ, and uncovering the truth. This video is interesting, not because of what is shared regarding SCJ but because SCJ’s doctrine isn’t refuted with scripture to help viewers discern with SCRIPTURE not based on someone’s testimony. While I understand that testimony is critical & valuable, our discernment shouldn’t be dependent on what a man says. You should provide scripture to show how SCJs doctrine is false, but you don’t. I say this, because during Jesus’ time on earth, everyone accused the apostles of being false teachers, arrested them, and did fabricated lies about them. What they had though, was the truth & the word of life! How do you expect others to grow in discernment if they do not even have the tools or scripture to do so? After all, human brain can SPECULATE & INTERPRET but that does not mean it’s true.

Jesus did warn us about false pastors and prophets, and so far almost every verse that talks about a false prophet can be applied to SCJ.

There are plenty of examples on that site of SCJ lying to Pastors about their beliefs (like how SCJ denies the Trintiy and the Deity of Jesus, and yet will lie to a Pastor to win them over), or how they infiltrate Christian events and Churches in order to recruit (look at Pastor Rusty's Testimony).
The fact that SCJ justifies deception with their "wisdom of hiding" proves which Father they belong to:

UA-cam is merely a platform that is used to share audio visual information. SCJ also shares their doctrine on UA-cam. You have a different interpretation of the bible than most other Christians. By merely claiming that they are deceived and have the wrong interpretation of the Bible, you cannot really help them to change their minds and accept your claims as true. Imagine everyone went around just claiming that everyone else is deceived. How would we make progress as society? Except Steve never said that Lee Manhee is Jesus. He did say that he elevated himself greater than Jesus through LMH's actions and claims, including his experience with how LMH was talked about more than Jesus himself.

You basically said here that SCJ has replaced the ethnic Israelites as Gods chosen people. This is why your organization is so obsessed about the message that the 144k, the remnants or the chosen elect will be coming from SCJ. How about we check the Bible to test if this is based on truth? Here are portions from Apostle Paul’s letter. I suggest you read the whole chapter.
“I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Apostle Paul is pretty straightforward and calls ethnic Israelites who believe in Jesus as the “elect”. Hopefully you don’t call the OT and the gospels as “milk” anymore. It seems you really need to study these books in it’s proper context. It’s pretty clear here that God’s promise to the ethnic Israelites are forever. Also, why do you only blame ethnic Israelites for the death of Messiah? Read the books again and you will see that both Jews and Gentiles were also responsible for the crucifixion.

Why are you attempting to spread a false narrative?
By reducing Jesus to a promised pastor of FC instead of the Son of the Living God, and then claiming that MHL is the promised pastor who will complete God’s plan of salvation, MHL is revealing himself as greater than Jesus. Stop contradicting yourself.
