Emma Thompson and Gaia Wise's appearance on pass it on was definitely my favourite episode. The fact that they spoke so honestly and openly about what must have been a dreadful, frightening period in their lives, must have helped so many people struggling with this awful disorder. Plus they were effing hilarious! 🥰
Pass it On and Poker Face are my absolute favorites on this channel because I love to see everyone just having fun. Also I am continuously amazed by Ben, James, and Kush's abilities to save even the most questionable of dishes.
@@serasverona I was debating whether to make this comment. I enjoy Pass It On in general, but I really find it hard to watch someone who, for one thing, refuses to evaluate himself at all realistically.
I’d love to see a follow-up on this one where Barry, Ben, Jamie, Mike, James and Kush each choose their favorite one and tell us why when introducing the episode.
Watching these consecutively really does show how much the normals have improved at cooking over the years. Less panicking, more deliberate actions, a bit better at adjusting on the fly.
I personally like these compilations. I've not seen most of these episodes in a very long time, and I can have the long form video running in the background while doing other things
1) every pass it on makes it clear why we love the format and appreciate the persistence! 2) Barry’s laugh is always refreshing and apt 😂 3) glad James is back for a spell !!! It feels like the avengers have fully assembled again!!
The slappy and the croquembouche are my 2 favorite episodes of Pass it On, something about Mike panicking and then somehow performing like a chef does the trick for me.
Can we please please have a Bells End Pub discussion where each of the guys tells us their favorite Episode of a theme.... their favorite pass it on, favorite battle, favorite gadgets..... it would be amazing to know how you all feel about all the amazing work you've done.
Since the Emma and Gaia video, I have been donating to Beat through my salary, only £5 a month because that’s all I can afford to donate unfortunately. Thank you guys for that video and raising awareness of the charity as I had no idea it existed before that
They need to do one where they use construction equipment, instead of cooking utensils. Like the one they did where they cooked as a group together for Ben, but has passed it on
My friend just had a baby, so I’m meal prepping a bunch of freezer meals for her and her hubby. I cannot tell you how perfect this upload was for me. Thanks for all the entertainment and inspiration you’ve given me across the years. Oh and to the behind the scenes crew 🩵
i hadn't watched the emma + gaia episode for awhile, but it actually has all the iconic features of a pass-it-on: 34:34 "what are thooose?!" 36:48 "how do i convey that?" "you can't" 39:50 random ingredients, no definitive dish 40:59 pride in individual contribution 43:40 "i'm overriding your decision-making" 45:36 "has anyone seasoned?!" and then of course the quintessential flapping, hiding/abandoning of food and last person having to slap stuff together
My favorite format! Watching some of the pass it on from years ago, just shows how much confidence and skills the normals have gained in the kitchen! Edit: my favorite pass it on and one that I rewatch all the time is the pastry fail, it always makes me laugh so hard I cry
I havent seen these older pass-it-ons in a while, the skillz have definitely improved over the years. The chef skills battle seemed to help them nail down those basics.
Not sure on how this would work but I'd love love to see a pass it on head to head at some point, chefs: Ebbers, Kush, James vs Jamie, Barry, and Mike; give them 10-20 minutes per person and see what they come up with. Maybe have a couple guests on as judges for the final result? Think that would be really fun to watch.
I think it would be a really good episode if none of the cooks knew how long they had, Janice would suddenly just say “your time is up” and the next cook would start
Oh, horrifying! Or what if it's the next chef who cuts them off (but there's some sort of punishment for going over 10 minutes to keep them making at least good-faith guesses about how long the guy before them had instead of cheesing it)?
I know I troll y’all’s comments a lot, but I just wanted to say this has not been a good weekend for me, and this upload is genuinely making a difference. I needed this. Thank you, Sorted. Jamie, it’s not in vain, lol 👊🏻
Not going to lie, I'm all down for these marathon videos. I'm glad y'all caught onto the algo and produced these with intent. These are indeed used as delicious background noise that inspires me to get into my kitchen when I can.
i really love you guys. can't even stress how many good laughs you gave throughout the years. please keep on doing this till the end of days, we need you!
I absolutely love this format and have probably watched all the episodes 5 times over by this point. The one with Emma & Gaia as well as Poppy are my absolute favourites!
I always feel so bad/frustrated when Mike rates himself low for just not messing it up and similar reasons. Like, yes! You didn't mess anything up! Do you have any idea how much of an accomplishment that is in this series?!
I think a great idea for a future pass it on would be a pairs pass it on. You start with one pair for 10 minutes or maybe only like 7.5 mins, then one of them swaps with the next person, then after the time slot, the person who stayed last time swaps with the next person, and so on until everyone's been in the kitchen twice.
This a trend I think should take off, 4 or 5 friends getting together to play pass it on, and people should post on UA-cam, and the best-voted dish and group take on the Sorted crew.
This series is my favorite thing you do that I'm surprised no one else has stolen yet. The first few in this video really show me how much your normals are closer to cooks than they were even then. I never thought I'd say this but I'd love to see some normal personalities that are new and see how they do in some guest episodes until they're confident enough to be in a pass it on as a new normal
I would love to see chefs and normals competing with each other with the chefs instructing the normals on how to cook. Mike-James, Jaime-Kush and Ben-Barry
I’ve watched this so many times. Wonderful and powerful message. Love you both for sharing something so personal, painful and hopeful. Thanks so much to you two extraordinary women. 👏
Absolutely love Pass It On but I always struggle to decide my favorite one. The playlist I’d make would probably contain all of them. 😂 This one is a great compilation though. ❤
I forget about the Emma and Gaia PIO and forgot about her story was put on before the tasting. I have to say thank you for leaving it in. Seeing then made me think you might have cut it out but was pleasantly surprised. It was also awesome to tell Mike to get out. Bloody hilarious.
This video is such a lovely companion to my weekend! I'm about half-way through---watching a bit at a time---and loving it! Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful compilation video! :D
I love watching Jamie trying to grow back his beard at light speed. Also knowing Mike, he probably scheduled like 30 episodes to be filmed while Jamie is beardless.
Thumbs up if you'd watch a 2hr video of the sortedfood team watching/reacting to this video. I know I would. Throw in Kush as well for his reaction to the early ones? Hell yes!
I love this. You've basically just recreated my usual Saturday morning chore background playlist. I think I've seen all the Pass It Ons, but maybe this will surface one I've missed. If these continue, maybe the sets of episodes could be themed: overconfidence, victory from the jaws of defeat, most wasted time. I hope Pass It On reactions return.
This compilation of pass it on gave us an intake on how to re-create these recipes with thorough planning. So how about having a series that you call “Pass it on BUT Planned” I think it would be a very good and funny intake on the failed recipes.

I must agree. James comes through often,, when he's not hiding ingredients and knows/controls the end
Barry forms a nearly perfect sushi roll by hand, gives himself a 3.
Makes cous cous. Solid 9.
Very Barry.
He is dunning-krungr effect as a person

genius
Oo oo oo! Rather than favorite what about ones they feel are underpreforming, as in, deserved to do better and be loved more.
The cloud egg incident not being here feels like a crime 😅 that whole food trend episode was chaos
That and the blowtorched pepper 🤣
Fish Pie and Chicken Wing debacle as well
Watching these consecutively really does show how much the normals have improved at cooking over the years. Less panicking, more deliberate actions, a bit better at adjusting on the fly.
Emma and Gaia brought the depth of their issue, as well as the suitable amount of bedlam we expect.

My personal favorite has to be the slappy. Mike’s face when he realized Barry understood was everything😂
I think mine is Barry going "A potato.." while chewing on a strawberry. Something about the way it's cut and delivered just gets me lol

I still can't believe they got Emma Thompson to do a PIO. Like, I'm still genuinely more floored by her popping up on the channel than Prince William.
Me too! The true royalty :)
Also, she had a much more enjoyable role

Jamie hiding Wasabi under 2 of the Negiri Shushi and then going for the third one straight away made me laugh so hard.
@achimsinn6189
Jamie hiding ...(ingredients)
Ibid.
He does this too often on pass it on
Should have called this “Barry’s different hairstyles”!! That man has changed his hairstyle more than I’ve had hot dinners 😂😂
😂
Thank you for these long format videos. When I'm sick and in pain, i like to put on something familiar to distract me. Cue up 12 hours of sorted!
have to say Emma and Gaia were absolutely brilliant, wish you’d have them on again!
Emma Thompson has some of the best comedic timing in history. She deadpans so convincingly.

Emma gets so drunk during that episode 😂 I do like that in such a hectic game, the atmosphere is still relaxed enough that it doesn't matter.
