- Combat in this game is very fun, I love how it puts a lot of emphasis on dodging and parrying attacks, I hope they add more bosses to the game like the ones we currently have in the closed beta.

With this type of combat, can't even imagine why people compare this to genshin's standard lol when they're no where near WW combat mechanic
Genshin gets its combat complexity from team building and character interactions as a group. One character can end up having dozens of ways to play depending on who you pair them with. Not universal of course, sometimes you end up with a character who only has one functional team but that's the concept.
PGR and WW don't work like this, characters don't synergize at all, and have very little reason to be used together outside of preference, or setting up a simple attacker tank support combination in PGR.
PGR characters work more like a tug of war with the enemies, where you're basically always dealing damage, and have to use your skills and things when given proper opportunities to do so, at least in the challenging content.
It's not better or worse, it's just different.
I hope WW adds more mechanical complexity to their characters, personally, as I don't feel that they're very interactive. Lots of normal attacking while waiting for the bosses to do stuff.
Heck, I want more interactivity in PGR and Genshin too hahaha
meh they're the same anime action game to me. they're just flashy and nothing more

So this is Wuthering Waves. Idk why people compare this to DMC in terms of combo depth. When this game is more like Metal Gear Rising imo.
My guess is people saw that one viral clip on twitter of someone doing some fancy looking (albeit rather impractical) combos with a 3 man team and just assumed that the game's supposed to be played like dmc which is not true at all imo
Meanwhile, I can't even parry the Crownless overworld boss consistently.

why does your character keep losing and restoring hp even though she was never hit? Is it a game mechanic or what?
It's her skill, it drains her hp when used and when the red bar above the hp bar fills up using charged attack restores some hp.
It is a character specific mechanic.

They need to remove the circles it makes parry too ez and make you actually pay attention to animation like pgr
Bosses' attacks get more frequent the higher the difficulty. Not only that, their attack patterns and behavior become more complex. They also get more attack skills. This is only difficulty level 2. In higher difficulties, it will be harder to parry even if you see the gold circle.
