Hey I really wanted to let you know you made a great video and I believe in my heart you're very sincere this is a wonderful piece of History what's about our Great America and the history behind it the buck knife is always been a tradition and you're right you can take very good care of it and you're absolutely right about batoning I can use a small ax or a knife I don't care if it breaks I don't want to be doing that knife it's too beautiful it's good for cutting brush feather sticking cutting fish that's not meant to be used as a chopper and thank you for sharing this great video you're totally awesome a true patriot 👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
My Buck 119 is dated between 1972 and 1986, and I love the knife. I don't carry a knife for splitting and chopping wood. I carry a Tomahawk. Either the Cold Steel Norse Hawk, or the Rifleman's Hawk. Both have very good blades for chopping and splitting wood. Because thats what they where made for. P.S. My Special is pre symbol. Also the Tang is a necked down over molded tang.
I got my buck 119 over 30 years ago. It’s still my go to bush knife and being Canadian that’s saying a lot. Cheers👍🇨🇦🏹

Just picked up my 2nd one of these today. I keep my original one put away, but the one I got today will be a user knife.

Just carve a wood wedge with the knife and use that to split wood rather than the knife. There is no reason to baton the knife.
