Your story about the Ranger being developed to get under a 4 inch limit doesn't make sense, because the 110 was already less than 4 inches.

Buck makes great knives. I have a 30+ year old ranger with with the larger blade and the finger grooves.

For me , 112 Ranger, is much better, for my Hands, as a 110 Folding Hunter; cause he is legenderic . I have both, 110 and 112 …. they are absolutely gorgeous …

For me , the 112 is much more better ! But 110 is magic ! 🤷

My 124 has a convex grind the last 1/4 inch from the edge. I am glad it does have this grind. I haven't read or seen another person saying their 124 has a convex grind. It is hollow ground to 1/4 inch, then convex ground to the edge. Perfect for a knife like this. Maybe I am just lucky, as the knife is new (never used) except for a little whittling by me. Very sharp like all my Buck knives. Thanks for the video, and my prayers go out to you for your loss. So sorry.

These vids make the buck 117 look like the 102.

My favorite knife is the buck 102 but im getting the 117 as a possible replacement I'll use most.

Not only is the 110 NOT the best knife ever made; it's not enen the best knife I own. I have a 40+ year old Gerber Sportsman that kicks the 110's ass in every way that matters. It's even prettier, for all that's worth.

That first traditional 110 has the older composite fake wood scales. They're not ebony wood. Still a good looking knife though.

Assisted opening..a slight flick of the wrist helps with that

The Buck Ranger is my favorite knife, I have copies going back to the 1980s. They have gotten expensive these days.

Their are many better brass polishes out their. I find cream metal polishes last longer with a much better shine.😊

I needed a pocket knife so bought a Buck Nobleman 327 and returned it after two days for a Buck 112 slim in OD. The 327 had a right hand only opening stud, was stiff, the clip was intrusive, the steel was 440 A not 420 HC as was advertised. The 112 solved all that- I removed the clip so it lies flat in my pocket, great grip on the handle, practical blade length, two opening studs, solid build. The 110 is more of a hunting knife than a pocket utility knife. This is the Goldilocks knife. Very happy with it.

How good is it actually for bushcraft? I know buck typically makes hunting knives, but if I don't intend on hunting, then would it still be worth it for the style of the knife? I just wouldn't want to break or otherwise damage it.

You da man!!! A knife and a pistol! I carry both everywhere!!! I keep both concealed (per TN laws). Our small town’s Greenway has become a homeless haven!!! Our once beautiful scenic walk has become a drug-addled, homeless encampment!!! You’d be crazy to walk it without a weapon on your belt . Sad times!
