@sbkpilot1 - 🧐 Don't be so quick to judge; often times the scammers mirror & duplicate the CORRECT / VALID telephone numbers of a bank or company; so the individual correctly assumes they are indeed calling the right telephone number ... 🥴
@sbkpilot1 - 🫡 Okay, I stand corrected --- these two were extraordinarily gullible - as I'm just getting to the GOLD 🪙 bars portion of this video ... 🤯‼️
These are strong people coming forward to help others. I would have been a victim to a pig butchering scam were it not for victims telling there stories and warning us. I can't say for certain that I would not have succumbed to these clever scammers.
The victims didn't answer a phone call; they called a number thinking they were connecting to tech support. Scammers even claim to connect the victim to their financial institution's fraud department and to an agent of a federal agency. I know someone who fell for this scam and she was so panicked that I couldn't talk her out of transferring money to them to go to "secure accounts". If electronic devices may have been compromised, the real solution is to close down the existing financial accounts, open new ones at the same institutions and not access the new accounts until the victim has new electronic devices.
@jerimorgan4114 You and these people deserve to be scammed. You never take instructions from anyone over the phone or computer. Go consult with your attorney and local law enforcement in person.
Exactly no way, and then the final red flag should have been, no legitimate institution will ever tell you to liquidate your money and give it to them, and if they do their crooks and liars
Scammers either hacked their phone dialer application, or if the victims are using a VOIP provider, they hacked somewhere in before that call was routed to PSTN. I have not heard of the telco's network being hacked, but that is a remote possibility.
It happened to me once. Years ago someone called me saying I owed money on a loan I had taken out. When these people call me I talk to them cause I know they're full of mess. I said so the money I owe do you want a check...??? He says have you ever heard of a prepaid card...??? I said yep. So he told me to go put money on a prepaid card & call him back with the numbers. Before I talked with this man I was on the phone with my husband(at the time). When I hung up with the man my husband called again. When I picked up the phone the man was on the line. He had backdoored my husband's number. I had never gave the guy anything. Never heard from him again but these scammers are slick...😡
Turning cash into gold and later handing it over to a carrier? Was there no common sense used? I'm so sorry this happened to them, but man aren't you a bit suspicious????
This had scam written all over it from the beginning. I hate this couple lost their money. It is terrible what this world has turned into. Thieves looking for prey.
Idiots. Plain and simple. And how did the scammers "intercept" his phone calls when he called the legit number on the back of his card? Answer: they didn't. He called bogus numbers that were provided to him by the scammers. How are people this dumb?

Stupid comment. These scamners are in call centers in other countries. It's our lack of education making us fall for these and other scammers such as DJT.
Wow, so now the scammers hack our phone calls! These two sound very intelligent. The idea of turning cash to gold and handing it over to strangers is out of line, though.
I do not understand, the gentleman called the number at the back of his credit card, how could the scammer answer the call? Did he use the computer to call the credit card company?
Baby boomers you have to do better 🤦♀️. I watched a video earlier where an elderly woman thought she was talking to a FTC agent who told her to send the money through bitcoins and lululemon gift cards which she did. She lost 19k. You can’t make this stuff up. 😂😂
Omgoodness I am so glad to not own a computer, nor would I ever. Despicable things. All this advertising on TV about buying gold is a grift - don't buy it. If the economy collapsed, what would be open to buy back the gold? They are the ones making a profit over people's gullibility.

My cuz ask me to loan him some money and since I will not be home leave it under my door mat...$100. Told him No my phone call could get intercepted and I loose my $100.
Im sorry they were scammed...but...red flags were everywhere. 10 seconds after the pop up showed up, I smelled a rat. 20 seconds into the first phone call, I smelled even more rats.
Do you realize how ridiculous you are with all those stupid emojis? The only people who use those are people who are still living at home. Anybody with common sense would not use an emoji on a UA-cam comment..
