It's not all the fault of this country. Some of these people have been making bad financial decisions their whole lives. They get their "financial advice" from advertisements.
You can't blame others for your situation. We have no control over what happens to us, just how we respond. Gig jobs are not going to get you ahead. Because you have no kitchen you spend crazy amounts on fast food. Where there's a will there's a way, didn't mean it'll be easy or you'll come out unscathed. But anyone can overcome any adversity with persistence.

Yup, it will. I was asked once, what kills most civilizations throughout history? My answer was Greed. It kills more than disease, invasion, war, etc,.
yup. tbh i feel much worse for people who actually had legitimate houses that they owned and lost, even if sold they're broke, now they really deserved better. but bs like this is one of innumerable reasons i won't live in a city or apartment, can't trust those. there's far more options even if renting a house,so people who rent rooms in a human zoo don't get much sympathy from me.
This is normal in almost every other country, America expects young adults to move out at 18. Multigenerational homes are more likely to save more money and even time for other activities. It should be normalized honestly.
my home is multigenerational.. my son is 22 and my parents are in their 70s and im 44... we do what my parents cant due to age around the house and we all help with food and costs like gas and electricity.. we all live a minimalistic life style so its not a big deal to us 😊

She doesn't have a husband. I don't want to judge her, and I don't know why she has 3 children and doesn't have a husband, but a lot of women are going to have to stay married for financial reasons. Pooling resources saves a lot of time and money compared to dividing them. If she had a husband, she wouldn't have to work so hard, and she'd probably have a house or apartment to live in.
Where is the father? No one has asked that question but me. This man got this woman pregnant 3 times and he's nowhere in the picture. What kind of father does that to their kids? This man got his kids living in a car. OMG. Is he sick or did he pass away because I don't see the father?
It is very common to see kids in this reality. Here is the problem: After COVD many of the landlords nationwide and when seeing that many people had to stay at home and many could not pay rent ( Moratorium) decided to ask people to make 3 times the rent and this unlawful policy is what keep people homeless. The majority of people make barely 1800 a month. When someone wants to rent a home that cost 800 (800x3=2400) if you do not make 2400 a month you cannot rent. In addtion and important factor there is no inventory of homes for rent. Much of the homes you can find are from the 50's 60's 70's and are few, old, and needs repair. Still people put homes like this for rent making tenants sick. So, it is expensive, much places are not worth the price, there is no availability and abusive ruling and pricing. This lady needs a big home for all her children and it will cost her a fortune under the current housing market to find something good for her.
This terrifies me and it’s a direct result of corporate greed. Many CEOs have realized mass layoffs is the easy button for short term stock price growth while having no consideration for the lives they’ll disrupt. No one is safe. I don’t take my job for granted. As my salary has increased I’ve kept my expenses the same, even spending less.
One thing I've looked at is "Who is buying the housing?". The reports are saying more and more single family houses are being bought and paid with CASH! It's "Corporate". If they pay in cash the buyer closes earlier and gets their money faster. This IS corporate greed! A lot of the 401K companies are investing in real estate because it's safe. But some are paying cash outright and buying above the asking price to gobble them up. The sellers really need to take a stand and ONLY sell to individual families. But I think the damage is already done with the homeless pop just growing and growing. SOMETHING needs to be done! The rich FAT CATS in DC are unaware of what it feels like to be homeless and to actually go to the grocery store and buy groceries on a budget!
Corporations are milking as much as they can before shit hits the fan. That’s why they went mass immigration both skilled and unskilled, creates more debt slaves and lowers wages.
I got an apartment that took forever to get. After I moved in and settled, I decided to not decorate. Not to buy anything to make my space, MY SPACE because I am tired. I cant even enjoy my space because I work everyday. The one day I get off, I still feel restless because I am thinking of Monday. I probably wont stay here in this apartment cause the rent WILL go up. I am reducing things. Getting rid of things and not buying decor or nothing because I need to be like Erykah Badus song and " Pack light!" I live with the mindset of a "vagabond!"😢I have to be able to go at a moments notice. Sad but thats how I move now.
I will pray for you, seriously. No one should have to live or feel that way, especially when you're a working member of society. This country has turned upside down! Your post brings me a reality check. Thank you for sharing! And, again, I'm sorry you're going through this.
I downsized from a $2,500 townhouse to a $1,900 apt and got rid of half of my stuff. I have 4 more years to get my youngest through highschool, then I’m looking to get out of the US. Screw this. The US is a business and we are the unpaid interns. Just to show you how bad it is in SE Denver, the affordable income restricted apartments down the road from me just dropped on their tenants that they will be facing a $400 a month increase.
where ya thinking of heading? this is the result of our population celebrating WEALTH instead of condemning wealth like Jesus Did. Christians in America don't follow Jesus they follow the money like any heathen would. "we reap what we sow God Will Not Be Mocked"
I’m glad it’s finally being pointed out. I’m tired of it being assumed that just because a person is homeless, or on welfare, then it must mean they are unemployed. That’s not the case anymore. Housing is just too expensive. 😓

This is an aspect of homelessness that people don't see. Because these are functional members of society who often have jobs, they go completely unnoticed by society. All people see when they think of homelessness are violent drug addicts stepping over needles in the street or the mentally ill. The reality is that Millennials have been dealing with this for over 15 years. Many of them have been in and out of living in their cars. Most of us are still trying to play catch up even if we do have places to live. Some Millennials have children. Some Gen Xers are also dealing with this. Boomers don't understand because they've never had to deal with low, stagnant wages and skyrocketing housing costs. This problem is invisible to them and therefore they will never do anything to solve it.
@@felixthecat2786 As a boomer, I've lived in a shack of a home with no electricity or hot water in the high sierra. We rented a garage to live in in CA. Even back 40 years ago, a run down 2 bd duplex next to the railroad tracks was $900 deposit with $900 first month and $900 last month paid up front just to get in. Wages didn't support that and anything that looked like surviving. I've eaten cardboard just to fill my stomach and briefly contemplated eating my own dog. (One of those invasive thoughts when you are starving. I was not aware that an able bodied person who had a job could get food stamps, just because their job(s) didn't pay them enough to live on.) Glad I didn't eat that dog. I got sick and that dog laid up next to me in that unheated house in the winter. Kept me from freezing to death when I was delirious. I got my first full time job when I was 15 1/2 years old. Worked and went to school. There was a time my ex, I and our oldest who was a toddler; lived in a screened in porch we put plastic and duct tape on through a cold winter. There were 13 of us living in a one bedroom house. (Granted one lived in a garden shed.) We all did what we had to do. I don't know why people say boomers had it so easy. Not only that, I'm autistic and a female. Yeah... pretty sure not all of us boomers had it as easy as you might think.
I hate the way media covers this…you have to highlight the problem and solutions not just show symptoms of the problem. This is being done TO people, it’s not just random

Rent would be 150% of my income where I live. I own a house but the utilities and property/school taxes all cost $1,200/month for a small starter home. Deregulated utilities went up from the $80-150/month bills. Soaring to $200-$350/month for each utility as a mandatory minimum due to the rapacious corporations that now own them. Deregulated garbage and sewer jumped from $48/month to $100/month here. Internet is a monopoly owned by comcast that offers 300 Mbps or 1,200 Mbps. One is $35/month and they throttle it down to 100-200 Mbps frequently. The other is outrageously unaffordable and overly excessive speed. At $135/month for 1,200 Mbps, so you get screwed one way or another regardless of which you select. The house needs a MASSIVE amount of work. So I live out of just the upstairs at present. They’re not outsourcing “high-paying” jobs. The CEOs are just getting fat bonuses. They are paying people overseas dirt cheap as well. NAFTA, allowed that to happen.
Jobs outsourcing is bad enough but I think manufacturing everything abroad is worse. Almost no value is being created in the US. You buy things made abroad with money you earned in the US. Only the rich profit from it, since their profit margins are many times higher than if they produced things at home.

Tennessee has really focused on bringing wealthier people to the state with incentives. This has pushed our rent to almost double if not more. Also, outside companies are coming in and buying up former mom and pop or locally owned apartment complexes as they hit 20 years and no longer have to provide low income housing. Also, the local developers are building homes for rent and making comments like “ apartments are the new first home”.
Not to mention every little old house where I live gets bought up by investors who may just choose to let the house set empty. I’m on the Cumberland plateau.
I noticed a California family who makes a lot of money off UA-cam vlogging relocated from California to Tennessee. Given they have no family in Tennessee, I'm guessing they moved to Tennessee so they don't have to pay income tax anymore and can have much lower property taxes.

That is scary those little children sleeping in a car. How many blankets will keep them warm? I guess all the bodies in the car warm it up some, but still, it is freezing outside. That is so crazy how they deliver to beautiful fancy homes and then have to sleep at a truck stop in a car. This society doesn't have compassion. I don't feel like those app gig jobs are worth the gas, insurance and wear and tear on the car. People doing that are poor. Maybe she could drive a school bus and get benefits. Housing is still unaffordable. I think it is very scary to normalize homelessness for people. This isn't van life. This is desperate life.

Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Ellington now own more wealth than 66% of Americans combined. 3 human beings own more than over 300 Million individuals. Let that really sink in.
This is very parallel to how things are currently going in Canada. I live in the capital (Ottawa) and just saw in the news that our homeless population has doubled in the last year. There is zero housing, and what is available is at least $1800.00 for just one bedroom (+ Utilities, parking, Cable, and internet). Groceries cost 10 times what they used to. It's become impossible to ever get ahead and too many people are 1 or 2 paychecks away from homelessness.
I'm in Vancouver Canada. You are so correct. I pay 1900 for a one bed basement suite in a townhouse. Just 4 yrs ago I would see places like this going for around 1200. You can't even find a bedroom in someone's old run down house to rent for under 1000 now. Like a grand for a small room with shared kitchen and bathroom with who ever owns the house. How are we supposed to deal with rent going up say 300 to 400 minimum ever 2 years when our cheque's stay the same. Most of us are trying to just survive and keep some of our dignity.
This story is so heart breaking. This is why I left America there was no dream there for me. I will stay is Europe stress-free and ease to just enjoy your life.
A lot of people have said terrible things about homeless people and now they find themselves homeless. Through no fault of their own many people working and still homeless. I'm homeless disabled and can't afford rent and utilities, I don't like it and I would like to have another place to live safe and warm. God bless everyone and Merry Christmas 🎄

Yes, even when you do find any employment the rate of pay is never enough to pay the monthly rent due because the rent is often more than 30% of the paycheque; realistically, its 70% to 80% sometimes 100% of the paycheque.
I remember talking to a friend that was visiting me a few years before the pandemic and she was telling me how I should move to a smaller town with a lower cost of living like she did. Because I live in a large vhcol city and had, at that point, seen gentrification in action many times over and in the same areas, I told her what a horrible idea that was since moving large amounts of people with much higher incomes to places where incomes are low would affect the people there. She did not understand this at all. Just like she did not understand how the already expensive cost of living in my city could (and has) get even higher...
Bro theres like no requirement to live and move your whole family into a hotel or a motel in this world but when it comes to a house or apartments its a long long long process. I’ve been saying for awhile this is where the revolution will start-unhoused people with jobs & their wits about them will get so sick of living in their cars because rentals aren’t available & it’s almost impossible to outbid a corporation to overpay for home ownership-they will overcome the division sown by the powers that be, & fight back.
I'm confused as heck.. we can house newly arrived immigrants but we can't help americans.. what the heck is going on???? something is not being reported accurately...
Because immigrants were considered new voters. Now that the election is over, a lot of those programs are being defunded and now even those immigrants who had housing are becoming homeless. Welcome to our beautiful corrupt.. cough, cough... Excuse me, capitalist, system.
Tell that to your politician. I'm a non Us citizen (not even lives in US), but whenever i saw yall condition, it's heartbreaking, especially when US spend billions of billions dollar to aid to the likes of Ukraine and the g side Israel. Billions upon billions that can make at least a little change to the lives of american
Everything goes down to legislation and laws that gives a citizen the right to be protected or to be granted. While I am not knowlegeable about Asilum seekers or Political refugee's law, there must be something in the law that says that the USA must find them housing and gave them all the things they have had. Therefore, we need to have a law that allows all USA citizens with Affordable Housing. A law. Otherwise we will have a generation of homeless people.
First off, where do you think these newly arrived immigrants are being housed? I’ll give you a hint (in hastily built tent type cities. Unless they’re asylum seekers -you know people who fled horrific conditions). I know, I work with both the unhoused (DV and trauma clients primarily). It’s not a matter of “well whatabout them over there!” We have politicians and an incoming president who are focused on high income earners and corporations over people. Heck I’ve watched my state as well as others be gutted of needed social supports that could aid people like the woman in the video by REPUBLICANS. Maybe we should actually be working to better life, not finger point. But good luck, it’s bout to get worse (for those at the bottom. The 1% will be more than happy).
My coworker did that with her children. They werent homeless but working full time at our school as an assistant teacher wasnt enough. Her daughter has severe crohns disease and she needed more income to cover that. How on earth are children not covered in the “best” country in the world? Besides that this is just despicable
In Canada, we are having homeless seniors living on the street who work all theirs life to be unable to live / rent . It is so sad 😞.... Housing was affordable before all the rich people parking their money in housing
i work for dhs and i'm homeless. can't afford rent. credit score sucks cause i stopped paying cards to pay my rent on time. Rooomate moved after getting a new job so i had to move too cause i couldn't stay and afford rent by myself.
Homeowners aren't "safe" either. Most of my friends all over the country taxes and homeowners insurance have risen on their homes. So those paying a mortgage to the bank (the real owner of that home) or who actually own their home need to drop the superior attitude. NOBODY is safe.
The new normal is that homelessness is apart of life if your lower middle class and working class. It has always been a reality for the poor and disabled.
First of all, it's NOT NEW, it's been happening for about 15 Years, or Close to that time. Many with even TWO JOBS were Denied an Apartment because they Didn't have an INCOME of 3X THE AMOUNT of the RENT, while landlords were allowed by the Gov't to make Rent SPIKES that people couldn't Afford anymore. Basically, MAXING OUT of the Rental Market the POOR & Working Classes.
There is so much more of this happening across the USA than one can even imagine and even more getting added to the list of those becoming homeless daily. Something has to be done to help this please. Not all who are homeless are drug addicts and those that chose homelessness. So many now and i mean a lot with the high cost of just having a roof over their heads and just even the basics are maybe one paycheck from becoming homeless themselves.😢😢😢😢😢😢
Every time when I want to complain about my life. When I look at stories like this. Lord I'm so grateful for having a roof over my head. There's always someone else who have it worse. These are the type of Americans in need of help. Instead of giving billions and millions of dollars to other countries.
I’m ts not the billions they give to other countries it’s the subsidies and tax breaks they give to corporations here Elon needs your pocket mobey for his ticket money and he will get it
This is sad and to be honest, upsetting. This country has money for other countries and illegal immigrants aka "migrants", yet, when it comes to its own citizens, there's no money. A person working a full-time job should not be homeless.
It’s not the result of foreign spending or other hard working immigrants It’s a system that is rigged to benefit the wealthiest among us while making the basics food, shelter, healthcare unaffordable
Being disabled and homeless, and or elder The country has been overwhelmed with us. The economy is so horrific that now lower wage earners can't afford a place to live. Reset everything. This woman is amazing. Prayers forever and her family. 😢
Here in LA, yep ground zero, rent is majority unaffordable and the fight for this stupid housing lottery is insane. I’m full time worker sales associate with a side hustle as a PA/Runner and I don’t know if I’m ever going to thrive in this mess
How do we as a people help one another? How do we help the lady and her children? I don’t have much, but if we all do something we can help one another.
America is not the place to be. If you compare the quality of materials to the way other countries build. It’s not even close yet the prices are higher.
There needs to be more affordable housing in the US especially in bigger cities. Nobody should be homeless while working full time hours. This is all getting worse and worse each passing day it’s ridiculous.
If there is not enough housing people need to be allowed to make shelters out of what ever materials they can get and should not get persecuted for it. Now its about survival and we all have the right. I was a In-House Care giver and previously a nursing assistant for a income care agency for about 10 years until now I gave up because I can not keep going like this anymore. Its charity work because it does not pay for housing and some basic needs.
It’s mainly because of wage stagnation. I been homeless for 3 years. Not because of a lack of a job, but because wages stopped keeping up 30 years ago.
I have a home and would love to open it to someone like Qneshia, but the way the law is, I don't dare. If something goes wrong, I'm virtually powerless for weeks with a stranger in my home. It's ridiculous and impedes neighbors from helping neighbors.
I'm told there are programs that will help you with first last and security to get into an apartment But there's no point Because you still have to pay the rent every mth after you get in The problem is the overpriced rents
THIS! But this is not just "an American thing"! This is truth in canada, too! Rent is often 90% or more of monthly income in canada. I've met hundreds of working homeless people over the past 4 years. *_and they usually get fired if their boss finds out they can't find of afford a rental_* Young tradesmen living in their work truck because they can't find or afford a rental. Young couples with young kids living in unheated garages and tents. Seniors living in tents and cars. Most people can't qualify for a mortgage.
Many homeless vets here in Portland Oregon age 62 average rent 1800.00 social security at age 62 is 700.00 to 1200.00. We are suffering. Make it illegal to charge over 400.00 amonth for rent simple.
That someone works 7 days a week and can't find a place to live says alot about this country.
The last 4 years and useless Administration caused so many pain and suffering for many American families.

It's not all the fault of this country. Some of these people have been making bad financial decisions their whole lives.
They get their "financial advice" from advertisements.
@LewisKindrick-r5n yes, let's ignore the fact that both productivity and cost of living have gone up but pay has not.
This is why more and more families are becoming multigenerational homes.
Not if you have no family or an abusive narcissistic toxic family.

tbh i feel much worse for people who actually had legitimate houses that they owned and lost, even if sold they're broke, now they really deserved better.

there's far more options even if renting a house,so people who rent rooms in a human zoo don't get much sympathy from me.

@janetappmeyer7483 It is indeed the fault of any woman who does not secure a contract prior to giving birth.
So these kids are attending school while living in a car? Um. ... American dream is dead.
“It’s called the American dream because you gotta be asleep to believe it”
And yet we have millions of immigrants coming here thinking they will have a better life, more opportunities.
Don’t fret! Bezos and Musk are doing extremely well and are looking forward to their tax cuts.
Happening for years. Children in the public schools have many parents who are struggling.
Soon they will only extreme rich and extreme poor. The middle class is dead at this point.
Better Budgeting the money we don't have is NOT the answer here. Rebellion is.

The reality is that Millennials have been dealing with this for over 15 years. Many of them have been in and out of living in their cars. Most of us are still trying to play catch up even if we do have places to live. Some Millennials have children.

Been a bricklayer 45 years. Raised 4 children and college educated them. I worked after work and weekends. Bought distressed properties and restored them. Everyone judged me because I was always dirty and drove a beater truck. I'm a multimillionaire today and still dirty! I love bricklaying!
Good for you. Youre a very wise man.
Ironically, the US is in serious need of trades people now. Though I'm not sure there are good opportunities for young people to get the training in these fields. My brothers learned on the job mechanic and building engineer. Do companies even offer that these days?
@fdm2155 lazy and spoiled! They don't want to work hard or learn! America is doomed! Idiots play with their phones, and have no interest in learning. Most want a paycheck for doing nothing! Not to mention they are so out of shape it's a disgrace!
@fdm2155 I never let my children waste time on computers or cellphones! I made them work! They all worked for me in construction. Today I have a Daughter who is a OBGYN, and a daughter who is an engineer. Son who is a coder? Son who is a Chef. All doing well.
I’ve been a BrickLayer Apprentice for over a year now. Do you have any tips?
This country is a d*** joke. This makes absolutely no sense for the wealthiest country in the history of the world to have a homelessness problem like this. We need to do better.
Just like everyone else, you are free to leave if you don't like it here.

I make good money for my area (21 dollars an hour) at full time. And at 1800 dollars a month I would be left with 450 dollars for everything else...
I'm 😢 in the same situation as you - trying to find an affordable apartment is impossible atm😢
Yet Health care CEO's are pulling millions.
For doing very little. Do you think they work this much?
Can we stop talking about this shit every fucking day and just do something about it!!!
What do you suggest?
Ask Biden to stop sending money to Ucraina
@@inappropriate789 Make it illegal for large corporations to purchase single-family homes moving forward. Problem will solve itself in a few years from there.
@@GeorgiaMostly thank you
@@GeorgiaMostlyHow you going to make it illegal? Depending on these politicians to do the right thing instead of listening to their big donors? 😂. There needs to be a revolution.
There need to build tiny house villages where people can afford to pay $250 to $300 a month per household
What the heck? “$250? And tax payers subsidize the other $1200? You know cost of lands and building materials will still cost the same right? why fool around playing the game of “paying $250 to $300? Might as well subsidize them all their housing.

Excellent idea!
Or we could stop corporate ownership of housing stock
Such a hard working woman, and seems to be so positive during this tough times. She seems like such a great mother. My prayers 🙏 that things get better for her and her children.
NO American baby and baby Momma should EVER be homeless! EVER!😢
This shouldn't be happening in a country that claims to be wealthy. God bless the working class people who are struggling.
Between the greed of the rich. The inept politicians misspending our tax money. These endless wars. I pray for these people.
Not just the US but Canada, Australia here and probably other countries. So sad and not right that ordinary folks like Tweedy and thousands and thousands more world wide are losing out, so much 😞
It's pretty much in all western countries .... and in Japan, China, and South Korea as well.
This is happening everywhere in the US why are we being outpriced to where we don't have homes anymore? We all need help give us discounts on all rents and house payments. God bless you all

The Super-Wealthy when your innocent children go to bed Hungry; 😊

Yes, even when you do find any employment the rate of pay is never enough to pay the monthly rent due because the rent is often more than 30% of the paycheque; realistically, its 70% to 80% sometimes 100% of the paycheque.
It's called a failed society. and it doesn't matter how well "Wall St." is doing.
Sending my love and prayers to the working unhoused, I pray for a change in this nation in Jesus name Amen

Shits sad we are living how are law makers are wanting us to live. Crowded up. Scrounging. Arguing. All of that is what is gonna keep this cycle of poverty and depression going.
What’s really infuriating is that there’s millions of unoccupied homes that aren’t on the market-only because it wouldn’t be profitable to sell them.
America is a tinderbox. Everyone is struggling and losing hope. What do you think is going to happen when we reach the point of no return?
I think it is very close. Stay safe!
Eat the rich
That's what Harris and Biden Administration did to Americans the past 4 years. SMH
My coworker did that with her children. They werent homeless but working full time at our school as an assistant teacher wasnt enough. Her daughter has severe crohns disease and she needed more income to cover that. How on earth are children not covered in the “best” country in the world? Besides that this is just despicable
God please keep that woman and her children covered on their journey. Blessings and strength to all people in this situation
In Canada, we are having homeless seniors living on the street who work all theirs life to be unable to live / rent . It is so sad 😞.... Housing was affordable before all the rich people parking their money in housing
I drive truck and I see people camping at Walmarts , truck stops and rest areas all over. People get into trucking so they can live in the truck.
i work for dhs and i'm homeless. can't afford rent. credit score sucks cause i stopped paying cards to pay my rent on time. Rooomate moved after getting a new job so i had to move too cause i couldn't stay and afford rent by myself.
Looooooord, this is truly heartbreaking. 💔. Life can change in the blink of an eye.
Anyone who doesn't already own an affordable home is in deep trouble. In my area STRs have destroyed housing for regular folks.
Homeowners aren't "safe" either. Most of my friends all over the country taxes and homeowners insurance have risen on their homes. So those paying a mortgage to the bank (the real owner of that home) or who actually own their home need to drop the superior attitude. NOBODY is safe.
@robinsonfamily222 I am fortunate to afford taxes and insurance on my modest home. I feel fortunate and thank God every day I wake up safe and sound.
No one who works full time should be homeless. Housing is WAY too expensive nowadays.
I’m
Homeless right now and it’s been so rough lately 😢 but I know I’m not alone in this God help us all
The new normal is that homelessness is apart of life if your lower middle class and working class.
You got that right!
This is truly heartbreaking 😢 I'm tired of the wicked sucking us dry already.
I’m ts not the billions they give to other countries it’s the subsidies and tax breaks they give to corporations here
Elon needs your pocket mobey for his ticket money and he will get it

This makes me so sad , but I’m happy she is still doing this for her kids
To the single mother I pray for you and your kids. God bless 🙏
The headline should read, "greedy landlords forcing people into shelters."
Yep because that is exactly what is happening
God bless Ms. Tweedy and her children.
This is sad and to be honest, upsetting. This country has money for other countries and illegal immigrants aka "migrants", yet, when it comes to its own citizens, there's no money. A person working a full-time job should not be homeless.
It’s not the result of foreign spending or other hard working immigrants
It’s a system that is rigged to benefit the wealthiest among us while making the basics food, shelter, healthcare unaffordable
No child should have to sleep in a car. Thats horrible.
Being disabled and homeless, and or elder
The country has been overwhelmed with us.

I live in Western Australia and I pay over %60 of my wage to rent. This is a worldwide problem. Not just America.
How do we as a people help one another? How do we help the lady and her children? I don’t have much, but if we all do something we can help one another.
America is not the place to be. If you compare the quality of materials to the way other countries build. It’s not even close yet the prices are higher.
She seems so sweet I hope the best for her and her family ❤
There needs to be more affordable housing in the US especially in bigger cities. Nobody should be homeless while working full time hours. This is all getting worse and worse each passing day it’s ridiculous.
I can’t help but think where’s the father. People don’t seem to realize how important it is to keep the family intact.
If there is not enough housing people need to be allowed to make shelters out of what ever materials
they can get and should not get persecuted for it. Now its about survival and we all have the right.
I was a In-House Care giver and previously a nursing assistant for a income care agency for about
10 years until now I gave up because I can not keep going like this anymore. Its charity work because
it does not pay for housing and some basic needs.
It’s mainly because of wage stagnation. I been homeless for 3 years. Not because of a lack of a job, but because wages stopped keeping up 30 years ago.
I worked at autozone. My 2nd jobs for about 3 months. Workers there sleep in the parking lot and go right back to work the next day.
I have a home and would love to open it to someone like Qneshia, but the way the law is, I don't dare. If something goes wrong, I'm virtually powerless for weeks with a stranger in my home. It's ridiculous and impedes neighbors from helping neighbors.
What's the point in working a full time job if we can't afford to live on the money made from working all day every day?
I'm told there are programs that will help you with first last and security to get into an apartment
But there's no point
Because you still have to pay the rent every mth after you get in
The problem is the overpriced rents
THIS! But this is not just "an American thing"!
This is truth in canada, too!
Rent is often 90% or more of monthly income in canada.
I've met hundreds of working homeless people over the past 4 years.
*_and they usually get fired if their boss finds out they can't find of afford a rental_*
Young tradesmen living in their work truck because they can't find or afford a rental.
