Zidane's tail in this game is way too long for him. In the original game he had the longest tail of his people because he aged outside of his world, but here it looks like only his tail went through puberty, leaving the rest of the body behind.
That seems like a weird tail headcanon, especially since Kuja also had a very long tail easily brushing ground (You can see it in the cutscene on Pandemonium).
(Aww the story of Zidane is so tragic i say tragic cus Kuja was Zidane's Big brother but he ended up being considered a failure from the man who created him and Zidane he called Zidane the none failure in the end in ff9 though Kuja sacrifices himself for Zidane his lil brother, and Zidane not wanting to loose his brother i think goes after him but Zidane was too late to save Kuja thus Kuja died and passed away infront of Zidane i think i cannot remeber much about it though, but in the end i think Zidane forgave his big brother for all the bad things he had done.)
I don't think everyone in the world was short (and they don't really depict Kuja being that short in this game). That was just the chibi-like style the director was trying to go for to be reminiscent of the original games. In that case, Bartz, Cloud, and all the others pre-ff8 should be really short, too. Heck, going by that size chart, Vivi must be freakishly short--like knee-height, lol. ^^
iamSketchH I never understood either, although ff9's art style was more chibi like than the previous games, zidane is technically similar height to cloud :|
I agree he's way too short compared to the rest, even if he's 16, but lets remember he's an alien (and I think the only non human main-main character in the series, or one of the very few?), so maybe that's why?
Abraham Zamora just saw your comment! Final FantasyIX has finally been remastered! I bought it the day it released. One of my favorites that I've been waiting to be rereleased
I'm disappointed with how they made Zidane look and sound. He looks nothing like how he did in FF9 and I thought his voice would be a bit manlier than that. Not to mention his personality, which is completely different from FF9.
His height definitely isn't right at all, and honestly, I find his voice actor here to be a bit... expressionless... In my opinion though, considering his personality and age (he's sixteen) I personally envision him with more of an impish voice, rather than manly. Speaking of which, yeah, you're right. His personality is botched here.
I love how the new Dissidia Nt does better justice to Kuja. Here for some reason he’s acting like Garland (ffix) just told him he was a genome with limited lifespan. But through most of Ff ix he was cool calm and always ahead of the game. Bad writing when it comes to kuja even he lampshades it. How tf Kefka seem more formidable than him.
Have you played 012? Since the prequel explained what's going on with Kuja in the 13th cycle (this video). He acts like a tool here because he was brainwashed between 12th and 13th cycles via fake memories by Kefka. Like in NT, he was his end-of-IX self during 012, more helpful to Cosmos than Chaos, releasing Terra from Kefka's mind control and trying to help Zidane et co. Kefka however ended up finding out, and arranged a situation where he could brainwash Kuja to "get him to stop his rebellious phase" resulting the weird behavior seen here in 13th. (This is mostly from the first few 012 Reports, with the exception of the final bits, seen near the beginning of the main scenario.)
Rettomus That’s exactly what I’m saying. Why would Kefka out of all the Final fantasy villains, be able to brainwash Kuja of all people. It could have been Jecht, Garland, or Cloud of darkness for, people who makes a lot more sense in my opinion. Hell Kuja was a chess master in Final fantasy 9. Also an elegant untouchable badass. Im just glad dissidia Nt made up for there past mistakes.
@@kyfiedarby Because Kefka, after ruining Kuja's chances in helping Zidane et co, arranged him to fight Lightning? After presumably letting himself die (since he didn't want to fight her), how was Kuja supposed to stop the fake memory brainwash during his reviving between the cycles? That is, Kefka specifically arranged a situation where Kuja couldn't fight back, which is why he could do it. Being a chessmaster ain't gonna help Kuja there, when he was played into the corner in his attempt to help people, as per his characterization from the end of IX. During NT (More or less the 14th cycle I guess?) he has all of his memories both from his homeworld and the previous cycles, so he returns to his 12th cycle characterization, but with the added baggage of 13th (Instead of staying with Zidane and Terra, he tries to bail, doesn't even try to explain his behavior during the 13th cycle to Zidane and when Terra thanks him for breaking Kefka's mind control over her (during 12th), he acts like he has no idea what she's talking about, even though obvious to Terra he does. Also, Jecht *was* brainwashed, but by the Emperor. He was originally summoned by Cosmos, and Tidus by Chaos, but he sacrificed himself for his son in 12th when Tidus came to his first cycle, resulting in Tidus being on Cosmos' side and Jecht on Chaos' side during the 13th. (How would it make more sense to brainwash a primordial Void entity (CoD), than it would be an artificial doll kid anyhow? Just before the "You're Not Alone" scene, Garland wrenched Zidane's mind pretty good until he passed out, so Genomes don't seem to be immune to that sort of mental stuff.)
Rettomus Listen to yourself. (COD) is a void entity, who only cares about destruction and sending all things to the void. “Its” whole concept isn’t even an actual person but rather that of a monster. Also just because Kuja was artificially created doesn’t make him a doll. That was the whole point of ff ix in case you forgot. Kuja stood out for gaining a soul and going against his creator, we did this shit already. I get what Kefka did I played the game but that’s just how the developers wrote it. That’s where my complaints come in. Didn’t like seeing my mans Kuja getting his memories tampered with. Hell Garland took Zidanes soul for crying out loud and even he was able to overcome it and presumably gain a new one or his old one back. Gaining his identity his individuality back. Kuja even though he’s the prototype has the strongest trance powers up to date and is the epitome of rebellion.
@@kyfiedarby Yes, we have a incomprehensible being with an alien mind, versus a "puppet" with a very human mind. Why do you think this deity-like being would be easier to mind control than a person with a very human-like mind and soul? You asked "Why not CoD" rather than Kuja, and I said it makes much less sense for Kefka to be able to muddle the mind of an ancient weird otherwordly being than it would a person with a human-like mind. (I called him "a doll", because the alternative of "an artificial being meant as a host for a soul from an ancient race, that is (accidentally?) given a soul of his own and used by his creator to wage war" is so long. Plus, it's the word Kuja himself uses near the end when he attains Trance, though that's probably the inferiority complex talking.) From that on it goes to just opinions. You obviously don't like seeing a character you like getting fucked over. I however really liked the turn of events, since it went well to explaining (retconning?) Kuja's very weird characterization in the original Dissidia, and showed that even though his initial attempt to help people got him fucked over, he was honest in doing it and was ready to try again in NT. Zidane did manage to get back to his feet, but that was with the help of his friends in the "You're not alone"-scene. I wonder how well he would've fared if Mikoto had managed to keep the rest of the party from following him? Kuja's whole speech when ordering the extraction of Eiko's Eidolons also points out that he fears Garland taking his soul back for stepping out of line. My point was, Genomes don't seem to be specifically resistant to mind/soul screw-ery, so I don't know why this Dissidia scene couldn't happen the way it did.
Poor Kuja, that genome cannot understand Gaians as well as his brother can.
Am I the only one who loves the fact that Zidane shares the same English voice actor as Adrien/Cat Noir in Miraculous?
... now that you mention it....
Bryce Papenbrook

Its Dissidia the heights are all over the place and don't match their official heights to begin with. Like Zidane is supposed to be taller than Cloud.
That seems like a weird tail headcanon, especially since Kuja also had a very long tail easily brushing ground (You can see it in the cutscene on Pandemonium).

7:06-When you end up on the weird side of UA-cam...
I’m still confused as to why they made him so short when he’s only 4 cm shorter than squall. 😅
Loving the "sticky" shadows.
Also, I always laugh a bit at 7:54. The difference here is quite huge.
Funny thing is that they are the same height. Or at least Zidane is like an inch or two shorter.
"One of us is not serious enough" That is the last thing I want to hear from Kefka.
Imao Zidane was talking about date to a god
4:54-Presented for your Oscar consideration...
Garland with piccolo's voice actor raised his coolness factor so much!
Rey Martinez lol instant holy shit moment
Can't figure out why they made Zidane so short. He was average sized compared to everyone else in FFIX.
Everyone in FFIX was short. They come from a land where the average height of people is below the average height for us.
I don't think everyone in the world was short (and they don't really depict Kuja being that short in this game). It seems they screwed up just about everything in this game. The voice acting especially
ill be happy if they remastered final fantasy ix but then again lets wait till final fantasy vii remaster comes out

VivaLaTianna thank you love ;-)

+Abraham Zamora You mean FFVII "Remake" right? "Remaster" and "Remake" are two different things.

Honestly the only reason I'm watching this is to ascertain the pronunciation of certain characters' names! XD
No matter what they say it will always be "Zi-dane" Dane as in great Dane to me.

I always thought it was pronounced zidayn but ok.
Frozen Fusion I think we all did
Same dude
Jump in line with us "TIE-Dus" fans.
I had a different voice in mind for kuja. I thought he'd sound something like Seymour.
I had a different voice in mind of Zidane, I always imagined him as more of a cheeky cockney accent
Kuja should talk he sure looks like an animal
The treasure is which way?
yeah this is a bad representation of zidane, voice, personality and even visual are far from what you'd expect as a ff9 player
This is Zidane seen through the eyes of Kingdom Hearts
isn't zidane the youngest main char in a Final fantasy game ?
i know his 16 years old in his game , maybe that's why his shorter then everyone else ?
where is the lie XD
Youngest main character is probably Onion Knight. If i'm not mistaken, he's about 12-13 years old.
Youngest character would be Onion Knight, followed by Zidane and then Bartz. Everyone else is over 20.
Isn't Squall 17 years old?
@@Zilkenian_Davenport wait... isn't Cecil and Bartz are both 20 ?
Ugh, I hate forced, empty emotionless voices :/
The voice acting is terrible
