Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a fighting game with action role-playing elements developed by Koei Tecmo's Team Ninja and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation 4. The game is a follow-up to Dissidia Final Fantasy and Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy, released for the PlayStation Portable, and similarly allows players to battle one another using many characters from the Final Fantasy series. The game is a console port of the Japanese arcade title Dissidia Final Fantasy and was released worldwide in January 2018.
Calling all warriors. In partnership with Team Ninja, Square Enix presents Dissidia Final Fantasy NT as the next evolution in squad based brawlers. DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY NT is a fast-paced, strategic brawler where you can choose from over 20 iconic FINAL FANTASY characters and battle in a 3 versus 3 arena with your friends and other players online or by yourself. The most fun comes with teaming up with or fighting against your own friends. Call upon your squad and battle other teams!
-------------------GAMEPLAY FEATURES-------------------
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT places a focus on three-on-three combat, with players able to switch which character they actively control while the in-game AI controls the other two.
Characters are divided into four combat classes: power-based Vanguards, agility-based Assassins, range-based Marksmen, and unique trait-based Specialists.
Characters can perform Brave attacks, which increase the player's Bravery level based on the amount of damage done. If an opponent is attacked while their Bravery is at zero, a Bravery Break will be triggered, giving the player a substantial Bravery boost. Players can also perform HP attacks that will do direct damage to an opponent based on their current Bravery level. Using HP attacks will reset the player's Bravery back to zero, forcing then to perform more Brave attacks before they can directly attack their opponent again. Players are able to equip one HP attack and two EX Skills per character in battle.
Each character has its own HP meter, along with a Party HP meter, Stamina meter and Summon meter for the whole team. When a character is defeated, a segment will be removed from the Party HP meter; when the Party HP meter is depleted, the player loses.

Ironically, where he summons Shiva is a little closer to how he was in the original game. He only pretended to be happy-go-lucky as a mask. He was actually a bit moody.
@@iamSketchH I wouldn't say that. Other than that.....very sad scene, Zidane was a very happy-go-lucky guy in the original Final Fantasy IX.
@@tmcttf8087 Not really. It shows several times that he's not as happy-go-lucky as he pretends to be. For example, in the flash back when he runs away from Tantalus at 13 because he wants to find out who his is and if he has family (which is when he first meets Amarant in Treno though only Amarant remembers the meeting later). It shows that Zidane was really down over the matter of not knowing where he belongs. Or how whenever he's on his own when no one else is around he actually seems to have heavy thoughts filled with duty, guilt, and self-doubt. When other characters appear, he seems to brighten back up and seem more confident (showing us he's not actually comfortable with himself and may even be chronically lonely. He needs people's presence to comfort him, even if it's hostile company like Steiner's in the cursed woods). That's also why he's such a flirt. He craves attention and company to fill that void in him. Zidane's character is always more confident when he feels he's needed--which is why it hits him so much to find out that Kuja is his older brother and that he was designed to be the "death angle" meant to destroy all of Gia. He really falls into a dark place there, feeling his own existence is problematic (and again he needs others to help pull him out of it). But since Zidane is accustomed to internal conflict, he's able to understand and empathize with the other characters and even comfort them--starting initially with Vivi and going so far as comforting Kuja in the end. Zidane only acts light-hearted. It's how he copes with strong emotions--which is what makes it so sweet in Terra when the others realize how much he's struggling emotionally and come to his aid.

Strong disagree. :) He is a ruffian who had it fairly rough growing up under Baku. He cursed regularly and was quite mature for his age, having learned street smarts and gaining wisdom through his adventures in life. Idk he just came across a lot more mature to me in FFIX.
Imo, they just gave him some anime voice cuz he is small and has cartoony proportions.

Júlio Costa His tonality can be different regardless of age. His demeanor in FF9 (often more experienced and ‘cool’) doesn’t match his Dissidia voice imo.

I just would love it if they put Garnet in as well. I know she is summon based, but maybe they can give her the strongest summons to balance things out (since she can only perform white magic), and upgrade her white magic skills. Maybe give her holy, dispel or esuna and haste; that would make her a great support. Oh, and maybe summon simultaniousley (and perhaps relentlesly?). That would be awsome.

I’m so late to this but I always imagined Zidane sharing the same voice actor as Edward Elric from FMA (with Vivi having Alphonse’s voice lol)
Ed share the same voice actor with Broly, Nagato & Obito Uchiha, Ikkaku Madarame from Bleach. While Zidane share the same voice actor with Kirito, Meliodas, Makoto Naegi.

That voice doesn't fit Zidane (well, at least not the Zidane that appeared in the original FF9 games). In the original games, he was average height (and taller compared to many other average characters), was a charmer who had a lot of "lady friends" (which was part of what frustrated him about working so hard to charm Garnet who he *actually* liked), and while he was fun-loving, more or less he was only pretending to be goofy and immature most of the time because it was a mask. He was actually a little mature beyond his years because of who (and what) he actually was. The voice they have here doesn't fit that.
Dissdia has him REALLY short (for example, look how tall Vaan is despite only being 1 year older. That would mean most from Zidane's universe are comically short compared to the other FF universes--which I guess could be a strangely specific trait). In the game, he makes a lot of careless mistakes because he always rushes ahead without thinking, and talks like one of those comic relief side-kick friends who is girl crazy but always strikes out. So, I guess the voice fits as he appears here. It just doesn't fit the version of him from the original. Heck, even Vaan's voice actor would have fit better. (Actually, almost any other. I'm not really a fan of this voice actor's dubbing work as a whole. His voice is often very... shrill).
That's just not the same character as in FF9. I'm not sure if the developers of Dissidia ever played the original game based on how he appears here.

No, it's not his voice. He's not some kind of a cartoon 10-year old character. Sometimes he sounds like Raz from Psychonauts and it's just...blech.
Dissidia NT's Zidane voice actor totally missed the mark for me. I know he can be a snarky character but I felt it was lazy to give him a snarky, sort of whiny voice. I'd imagine a bit more gruff out of his voice given that he's a bar going bandit LOL. Not a DEEP voice necessarily but something not comical. For Zidane's character development having a more mid-range level voice would allow him to sound more genuine in both comical AND existentially serious moments. Maybe throw in a city peasant like accent that he shares with Tantalus hammering home his upbringing with them! The voice actor did a great job for some Anime protagonist don't get me wrong it's just there are no real notes in the voice that encapsulate Zidane hear outside of the snarky side.

If they ever do a FFIX remake, I hope they don't have this kind of voice. I always imagined him having more of a relaxed and smooth normal voice. He just sounds more whiny and haughty than I think he should. The voice actor himself is probably fine, just not a fan of the direction.
