The potato chip one is unknown it was started up north in New York or down south in I want to say Georgia no one knows for sure. Buffalo Wings is another one with questionable origins.
@@maryrosekent8223 There's actually a reason for that. Some people have certain olfactory receptors that makes them sensitive to the aldehydes in cilantro. Aldehydes are used in soap production, also. But not everyone has those olfactory receptors, so, to some people, it doesn't taste like soap (or bleach lol)
FUN FACT: Coca-cola originally had cocaine as the major non-liquid component-I wasn’t able to track down when that changed-my internet connection is dicey today.
In 1903, the fresh coca leaves were removed from the formula. After 1904, instead of using fresh leaves, Coca-Cola started using "spent" leaves - the leftovers of the cocaine-extraction process with trace levels of cocaine. Since then (by 1929), Coca-Cola has used a cocaine-free coca leaf extract.

Pistachio Pistachio (Ben & Jerry’s), don’t drink much soda but if I do it’s A&W Rootbeer. Don’t drink the tea with the bubble thing. Don’t eat hot wings. That’s all I can remember
I don't think there was ever a clear connection made between humans and cancer. The rat test results didn't transfer to humans. But in all honesty, I didn't even think it was sold anymore. I can't think of anything that's had saccharin in it that I've seen in 30 or 40 years.
Why? There’s plenty of scientific evidence showing it’s safe in moderation. According to people like you everyone should already be dead. The fact that artificial sweeteners are consumed all over the world every second says by ur logic the world should be empty of humans. Yet ur still alive and so is everyone else. So why should it be banned? And do you actually have the common sense to not consume it if ur scared it might kill you?
I can’t drink Coke, my mom used Coke syrup as medicine. So even to this day, it tastes like medicine. I’m also a little ol’ lady so when she used it there was still cocaine in it. No wonder we would feel better. 😊
One accident I read about some years ago: one year some friends gave me a Betty Crocker recipe book for my birthday. I think it was their 40th anniversary cook book, actually a 3 ring binder. It was filled with little history notes about the various recipes. On the brownies recipes they wrote how the exact origin was uncertain but it was generally believed that a cook on a train was preparing a chocolate cake for the passengers. The cook apparently forgot to add the baking powder so the cake did not rise, instead creating a very flat and dense cake. They served it anyways and everyone loved it.
I no longer drink soda, but my favorite is still Dr Pepper or Mr Pibb, if I was somewhere that served Pibb instead of DP. Favorite Ice Cream? Either Peppermint Stick, or Ben & Jerry's Coockie Dough. There's a fave fave but it's a local and singular favorite in my old home town, now 3 time zones away. A woman there made ice cream by hand that was served in an old-time Pharamcy. She made Chocholate with Devil's Food chunks, which were round and not squared. Put fudge on top and you're in heaven! Ooh, the origin of a food-stuff I would marry if I could! Oh, my Precious, Beloved Nutella! Ooh a quiz? I am gong to say C Cilantro. Did I win?
CILANTRO! I can't stand it. It doesn't taste like soap to me though. It's just so BITTER it ruins everything it touches. Even if it's on my food as a garnish, the whole dish is tainted. And it's everywhere now. It's hard to escape. Even my beloved queso now is disgusting. I'll be very happy when its 15 minutes of fame is over.
Triv answer has to be D. I taste absolutely nothing when I try artichoke. People tell me you're supposed to put butter on artichoke... I tried that once. I could taste only the butter.
I'm from CA. You cook artichokes by steaming them for about an hour. You break off the leaves and eat the bottom portion from the leaves. That's where the butter comes from. However, I eat them with mayo. Yum!. Then you clean out the bottom part of the artichoke and dip the heart into the mayo. Sorry you don't like them. The hearts are used in many dishes and spinach/artichoke dip.
Double Bubble! I loved that gum when I was a kid. I even had a Double Bubble gum machine in the late 1960's. You stacked the gum in it, then put a penny in the coin slot, pushed it in, pulled it out and it would drop out one piece of gum. It was a piggy bank which gave you something back. I suspect the pennies you collected in it probably weren't enough to pay for a new supply of gum, but hey, it was a fun gadget for a kid. By the way, I admire how you strive to prounounce things properly regardless of what language it is. I don't know that you're getting it right every time, but it sounds authentic. Job well done and keep up the good work. When I was a kid in the 1960's, early 1970's a common ice cream flavour was blueberry ripple. It was vanilla ice cream with streaks of blueberry sauce throughout. Real blueberries, not those soy bean imitations that baked goods use now. It was an awesome treat. Of course, blueberries became too expensive I suppose so no one in my part of Canada makes that flavour anymore. Nowadays, my favourite flavour comes from a local company called The London Ice Cream Company and it is called Ah! Chocolate. It is the richest chocolate flavour I have ever had in my life! I have no idea how they are able to pack so much chocolate flavour into the ice cream. You would think you were eating pure cocoa powder. It is so good! It costs $11 for a 2 litre container, which is expensive, but it is worth every penny.
Hey, Mike! This theme is lots of fun, though, I'm a little disappointed that you didn't get to taste on camera each item. For extra colors, you can add a handful of M&M's! Hope you try it out, one day. 🎄 Happy Holidays to you, your loved ones and to the List25 Team! 🎄
i worked at a golf course with a chef that was way above our league... he made a nashville hot chicken sandwich that to this day is the best sandwich ive ever ate.

I accidentally invented the canahoneymellon. It looked like a softball, watermelon colored outside and light geen inside. It tasted like cantaloupe and honeydew.
You forgot one of the best accidental food Mexican inventions, chimichangas. It was invented in Tucson, Arizona at the El Charro Café. The owner made a burrito and accidentally dropped it in the deep fryer. There is a Mexican swearword that she tried to avoid saying and came up with the word chimichanga.

The potato chip one is unknown it was started up north in New York or down south in I want to say Georgia no one knows for sure. Buffalo Wings is another one with questionable origins.
Favorite soda is Ginger ale, and coffee ice cream has to be the best thing ever. Merry Christmas
My favourite ice cream flavour is mint choc chip. I love mint anything.
Mine too
The answer to the question is cilantro
Cilantro tastes to me like what it would be like if someone tossed their salad with bleach.

What is coriander Alex
I thought the answer to everything was 42. LOL
@@MrTM-fg6zn I'm pretty sure its what British people call cilantro
Champagne: when Dom took his first sip, he shouted ‘Brothers! I am drinking the Stars!!’
FUN FACT: Coca-cola originally had cocaine as the major non-liquid component-I wasn’t able to track down when that changed-my internet connection is dicey today.
Yeah, I thought that’s what he was going to say.
Yes!, everybody knows that already, we've known it for decades for now!!
Coriander. Some people think it tastes like soap.
That's because they have a genetic variation that makes them sensitive to a certain chemical present in coriander that is also in soap and detergent.
For me it does!
Cilantro
Bleach! (I should say it tastes like bleach smells.) The tiniest bit will ruin an entire dish.
Because it does.
The first flavored potato chips was Barbecue Lay's
Ginger Ale (only when I have an upset stomach) is the only soda I will drink.
Culver's cookie dough (any variety) is the best ice cream.
Bruce Cost Ginger Ale is the very best-it’s just water, sugar, ginger and carbonation.
If you like ginger ale, may I suggest Vernors ginger ale. It is to regular ginger ale like French vanilla ice cream is to regular vanilla.
@@kennymik1509 I avoid carbonation, so I avoid carbonated beverages, no matter how much I like them.
Thanks. Vernor's is quite good. The best I ever had was in Seattle. We were amazed by it, but we were moving to the other side of the country and didn't take note of the brand.
Nutella: its LARGEST, and FIRST ingredient…is SUGAR!!!
Cilantro. I taste it fine, my wife says it tastes like soap. Merry Christmas Mike!
Cilantro tasted like soap to me as well , but since it was always used in the Pico de Gallo , I Eventually got used to it and that soap flavor went away .

Pistachio Pistachio (Ben & Jerry’s), don’t drink much soda but if I do it’s A&W Rootbeer. Don’t drink the tea with the bubble thing. Don’t eat hot wings. That’s all I can remember
Why would anyone eat wings-it’s just bones and skin. Yuck!

Merry Christmas everybody!

A: Brussel sprouts. The only way that I can eat them is to boil them to almost mush. If they are baked or broiled, they are extremely bitter to me.
That's sad. 😪
Try cooking with a bit of Lemon (I use lime) Juice. It really cuts the bitterness, and the tang is pleasant when weak enough.
A. Brussels sprouts. Broccoli, spinach, cabbage, and grapefruit have thiourea in them too.
