  • My happy place as a photographer.
    If you would like to buy me a coffee, this is the link: buymeacoffee.com/wollertz
    In this video I take you on a "virtual" tour hiking the trails of this beach, with awesome views and landscapes that seem to be from movies.
    This beach is recognized because of its natural beauty, but that beauty is also found walking the trails, the 30 minutes it takes to hike from the parking lot to the beach are minutes full of nature and serenity, its a path that transports us to a different world thru a path in a beautiful forest.
    This beach is located south of Gold Beach and to the north of Brookings, in the Samuel H Boardman State Scenic Corridor, a section of beach dedicated to Samuel H. Boardman the first superintendent of Oregon State Parks.
    I hope you enjoy the video, making it was an experience that lasted a few days because I had problems with my microphone, but it was definitely worth it 100%
    Until Next Time!

    Wow! You went 'down and around' to get to the beach access. We walked straight, briefly and got onto that large rock formation and scooted down on a minus tide day. Today we live in Todos Santos, Mexico; but then, we lived in either Winston or Coquille, OR. We watched for that minus tide and and went for it. Was really fun! THEN we had to get back up that large rock formation, back to the short trail to the car. We are in our 70s. The only way I could do it was scoot back up on my butt, backwards to the top. My arms were really sore the next day. I'd show you pics, but I'd have to search for them. Enjoy, Everyone!

      Yes 😅 I went down and around for the video, it is a beautiful trail
      I wasn’t just there again this winter in the snow and I went straight down. Other times at night looking for start photos I’ve also gone straight down
      This was snow 😁

      Ok - thanks for that link - Great Work! I watched the link of the 'snow beaches' - beautiful shots. Have you made it up to Flattery Point in WA? I got a great shot out there on a cloudy day. Had it blown up and it hung over my fireplace for 7 years in Tigard - then I got married and life changed a lot. Think the pic now hangs in my son's bedroom - at least it's still hanging.

    In my videos I talk about downloading alltrails to where your going. I didn't think we'd have zero reception in this area! The path you took was so cool. I was so lost and relied on ppl guiding me where to go. This place is truly amazing! I put a filter on my drone and regretted it when I reviewed the footage. You are very good with a camera! You where able to capture the beauty of this place so well. Fantastic video

      THB when I made my video I went 3 different times, waiting for good light, clouds, fog anything to balance the colors and balance the highlights and shadows. Yes knowing which camera settings to use when helps, but lighting is probably the most important factor.
      I even made a second video, I went after dark to shoot the stars, but I didn't like the footage so I scrapped it 😅, ill try again on another occasion.
      you didn't have much time for what I could tell, 29 places!! that's a lot of running around!
      I didn't notice anything off with the drone footage except for almost hitting that arch 😂 it freaked me out!!

      @@wollertz A video here at night would be genius. With the right lighting I bet would be an amazing unique look. I agree...I think lighting is huge. When we were there the rocks were silhouetted by the light a little.
      That drone shot was so emotional. After this arch was another arch, and another, etc... my goal was to fly thru them all at once! I was stoked! I litterly practiced here at home for this thru arch flying. I flew thru that first arch with HIGH confidence. I think because I was high on the platform and the drone was low...the rock cut off reception and my screen blacked out momentarily; while flying through! So happy I didn't crash. After that I flew much less adventurous...🤣🤣. Scarred the 💩 outta me!

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  Рік тому +1

      HI! Thank you, Theres 2 ways to get there the one in the video is the longer hike and I recommend that one, its the very next parking area just north of Natural Bridges maybe 0.1miles, google maps has it as seal cove, if you miss that one there is a dirt spot just after the guard rail about 1/2 north of natural bridges its pretty small, but this is a steep and slippery trail.

    I saw pictures of a this place on instagram a couple of years ago and put it on my "dream list" of places I'd love to go...I live in Michigan, so I honestly thought it would stay a dream and never actually get to do it...BUT my husband and I have made plans to visit next month!!! I can't believe it and I'm so excited. I really appreciate your video because it shows what the hike to the beach will look like. and it makes me more excited for my husband because that's the style of hiking he likes, is the woodsy, mossy kind of trails and I'm more of the awe-inspiring scenic views. So it will be a perfect mix for both of us!! One question I have is, are there signs that point you down the trail that you took to get to the actual Beach area? And if not how would we know which trails to take to get us to that specific Beach area?

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! Thanks you!
      So the trail is fairly simple, it splits about 1/4 mile into the hike, left goes in a big loop, but doesn't go down to the beach, great views etc but no beach, stay to the right and it will take you to the beach, Low tide preferably you can cross the little creek and hike down a ways, you can also download the AllTrails App, just remember to load the map when you have service, Its very spotty at the coast!

      theres 2 hikes, the longer one takes about 15 or 20 minutes and its a nice scenic hike (the one shown in this video) theres another "parking spot"" with a trail thats steep and usually muddy that goes straight down that takes about 5 minutes, a little longer on the way up 😅

    Such a stunning video, I love it so much!! Do you happen to know what the tide was when you went? I only have one day to make it there next week since I live out of sate, but I'm worried that it won't be negative tide..it's about 0.5 low tide at 5am according to the tide charts. Can't wait to see this place you so beautifully captured!

    • @wollertz
      @wollertz  3 роки тому

      Thank you very much!
      When I made the video I went based on weather (it was winter), and The tide was already half way up and it was a +2.
      If you can to make it there at low tide you will be able to walk down the beach and around the rocks, Its Awesome! (you just have to make you're way across the creek)
      And with longer summer days i'm sure you're going to have an amazing time and plenty of time to explore the area!
      Have fun!
